EFFECT ON THE EFFERENT ACTIVITY OF THE SPLANCHNIC NERVE BY ACUPUNCTURE OF VARIOUS CUTANEOUS PARTS
Needling effect of various cutaneous parts(“Zusanli”
“Indu”
and ear point “Stomach”)on theelectric discharges in terms of integration numbers of gastric and renal branches of the postgangli-onic sympatho-splanchnic nerve was studied in 67 rabbits under conscious and paralysed conditions. The reslts may be summarized as follows:[1]The effect of acupuncture on the activity of gastric nerve and gastric movement varied withdifferent parts.Needling of “Zusanli” caused a decrease of efferent discharges of gastric nerve and an increase of gastric peristalsis. On needling of “Indu” and ear points no significant changewas observed.Statistical analysis of the integretion numbers of electric discharges showed asignificant variation between the needling effects by these points.
