Abstract
This paper introduces the recent advances in research on the relation- ship between acupoints and viscera
and its connective pathway. We pla- ce primary emphsis on both the pericardium channel of hand-jueyin and the Stomach channel of foot-yangming. Results of extensive investigation in the clinic and laboratory showed that some acupoints stimulated by acupunctu- re could modulate functional activities of the corresponding viscera. Con- versely
some acupoints on body surface could appear abnormal responses when a certain viscera suffers from diseases or changes its functional acti- vities. Most of the scholars considered that there are some relative speci- fic connections between acupoints and organs. These results demonstrated that the theory of traditional Chinese medicine is correct on the relatio- nship between acupoints and internal organs. Many medical studies sug- gest that the nervous system
especielly the vagetative nervous system may be one of the important material basis
and the somatovisceral reflex and the viscero-somatic reflex may be one of its physiological mechanisms.
