In the present paper

the authors review recent de velopment of clinical trea tment of chronic gastritis with acupuncture from ① filiform needle therapy

② moxibustion therapy

③ hot red needle therapy

④ body acupuncture combined w it h otopoint-plaster therapy

⑤ acupuncture combined with Chinese herbal medic ine s

and ⑥ acupuncture combined with Western medicines; and make a preliminary an alysis and evaluation on ① the therapeutic effect and safety

and ② characte rs and regularities. Moreover

the authors put forward some existent problems in t he research on clinical treatment of chronic gastritis including lack of united standards for diagnosis and evaluation of the therapeutic effect
