    • Effects of electroacupuncture on the intestinal thioredoxin interaction protein/Nod-like receptor 3 signaling pathway in mice with Parkinson’s disease

    • In the field of Parkinson's disease (PD) treatment, the latest research has revealed the positive effects and mechanisms of electroacupuncture on intestinal barrier function and inflammatory response in PD mice. This study compared the behavioral scores, total distance of autonomous movement, and key molecule expression levels in colon tissue of mice in the control group, model group, and electroacupuncture group. It was found that electroacupuncture with "Fengfu", "Taichong", and "Zusanli" can effectively clear the abnormal aggregation of alpha synuclein (α - syn) in the substantia nigra and colon tissue of PD mice, improve intestinal barrier damage, and regulate the thioredoxin interacting protein (TXNIP)/NOD like receptor 3 (NLRP3) signaling pathway. These findings not only provide a new perspective for the treatment of PD, but also provide a scientific basis for the application of acupuncture and moxibustion in nervous system diseases.
