    • Effect of electroacupuncture at “Jiaji” (EX-B2) on senescence of nucleus pulposus cells of degenerated lumbar intervertebral disc in rabbits

    • A significant progress has been made in the study of using electroacupuncture to treat lumbar disc degeneration. This study compared the performance of rabbits in different groups after receiving electroacupuncture treatment and found that electroacupuncture "pinching the spine" can help improve the growth and motor function of rabbits with lumbar disc degeneration models. The research results showed that compared with the model group, the electroacupuncture group of white rabbits had a faster increase in body mass and higher motor function scores every week after treatment, indicating a positive effect of electroacupuncture on rabbit growth and motor function. At the same time, the study also found that electroacupuncture "clamping the spine" can reduce the number of Cav-1 positive cells in the nucleus pulposus cells and annulus fibrosus tissue, enhance telomerase activity in nucleus pulposus cells, prolong the relative telomere length of nucleus pulposus cells, and improve nucleus pulposus cell cycle arrest, thereby delaying the aging of nucleus pulposus cells in lumbar disc degeneration. This study provides a scientific basis for the treatment of lumbar disc degeneration with electroacupuncture "clamping the spine", and offers new ideas and methods for the treatment of related diseases. In the future, with the deepening of research, the application prospects of electroacupuncture "spine clamping" treatment for lumbar disc degeneration will be even broader.
