    • Research status and prospect on the mechanisms of acupuncture and moxibustion treatment for constipation of Parkinson's disease

    • Regarding the issue of constipation in Parkinson's disease (PD), research has found that constipation may accelerate the progression of PD, while treating constipation can significantly improve patients' quality of life and may delay the deterioration of PD. In terms of treatment means, the mechanism of acupuncture and moxibustion treatment of PD constipation has gradually attracted attention. However, current research is still in its infancy, mainly focusing on neurohumoral factors, gut microbiota and their fermentation products, intestinal inflammatory responses, and other aspects. However, there are still problems such as single intervention methods, limited research thinking, and insufficient interdisciplinary cooperation. For this reason, this paper systematically combs the research progress of acupuncture and moxibustion treatment mechanism for PD constipation, aiming to provide valuable reference for future research, and promote the in-depth exploration and practice of acupuncture and moxibustion treatment of PD constipation.
