Journal Introduction

Acupuncture Research, founded in 1976, is an academic journal focusing on acupuncture and moxibustion. It is sponsored by the Institute of Acupuncture and Moxibustion of the China Academy of Chinese Medical Sciences (CACMS) and the China Association of Acupuncture-Moxibustion, under the administration of the National Administration of Traditional Chinese Medicine.

Aims and Scope

As the only journal in China devoted exclusively to the mechanisms of acupuncture and moxibustion, Acupuncture Research is distinguished by its strong focus on fundamental experimental studies, while also incorporating clinical research and theoretical discussion. The journal's scope covers research and review articles on acupuncture-related experiments, clinical investigations, and theoretical explorations, as well as relevant news, commentaries, and conference updates.

Publication Details

Acupuncture Research is a monthly publication, issued on the 25th of each month with full-color printing. The journal maintains an acceptance rate of approximately 10%, and about 90% of the published articles are supported by provincial-level or higher research grants. These contributions reflect the latest scientific achievements in the field of acupuncture and moxibustion, underscoring the journal's high academic quality.

Journal Honors

The journal has been consistently recognized as an Authoritative Academic Journal of China by the Research Center for Chinese Science Evaluation (RCCSE). It is classified as a Tier 1 journal in the Grading Catalogue of Sci-Tech Journals of Traditional Chinese Medicine.
