Acupuncture Research flipped to an open access journal in August 2023. All articles published in this journal since the Issue 8, 2023 are open access works, which are made available on the journal's official website immediately after publication and are permanently available to all users free of charge.
In addition, articles published before the Issue 8, 2023 are not open access. The copyright of these articles belongs to the editorial office of the journal, and all rights are reserved by the editorial office. Users may access the relevant articles through the China National Knowledge Infrastructure (CNKI) or other platforms on a paid basis.
2. Open Access License
All open access articles in this journal use the Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial-NoDerivatives 4.0 (CC BY-NC-ND 4.0) license, which allows authors and third-party users to copy, distribute, and use the articles in any media and format, provided that they follow the terms of this license, including:

3. Article Copyright
After a manuscript is accepted, all authors must complete and sign the Cover Letter & Copyright Agreement, agreeing to transfer the full copyright of the article to the editorial office of Acupuncture Research. The editorial office shall thereafter hold the following rights, including but not limited to: the rights of reproduction, distribution, information network dissemination, performance, translation, compilation, and adaptation. The editorial office shall be the copyright holder of the article.
After publication, authors will receive a remuneration, which includes compensation for the copyright transfer.
Once an article is published in this journal, the author(s) of this article will have the right to use it under the CC BY-NC-ND 4.0 license.
4. Author Self-Archiving
Authors are allowed to store all versions of their articles in an institutional or other repository of their choice. However, it should be indicated in the repository that the article was originally published in Acupuncture Research.
