摘要:To compare the influence of various frequencies of stimulation on one particular acupuncture site on the effect of electroacupuncture anesthesia in thyroidectomies, we used Hegu and Neiguan sites in our 150 cases, us- ing 200-500/min, 2,000-5,000/min and 50,000-90.000/min in 3 series of 50 cases each to observe the anesthetic effect of the various frequencies. Our results showed that all the three series using the various frequencies showed comparatively good anesthetic effect, without any significant diff- erence. The effect of electroacupuncture anesthesia may be influenced by var- ious factors, but the duration of surgery is significantly correlated. The shorter the duration of operation, the better will be the effect. Converse- ly, if the operation is prolonged, the effect will be poor. We believe that the fatigue of the patients with their necks extended backward too long was the cause of lowered effect of elecroacupuncture anesthesia in thyro- idectomy.
摘要:The role of cerebral cortex in acupuncture analgesia is one of the subjects of researches on the mechanism of acupuncture analgesia. In pre- vious work we investigated the cerebral potentials evoked by pain or no- xious stimulation on normal individuals, patients undergoing cranial opera- tions and experimental animals, and observed the effect of acupuncture and some analgesics on them. The present paper is about the studies of cortical single unit activity under noxious stimulation by means of micro electrode and the effect of acupuncture on it.
