    • Clinical Study of Acupuncture Treatment on the Sudden Deafness

      摘要:The study is designed to observe the influence of acupuncture on the sudden deafness. The sudden deafness was treated by acupuncture combined with the trophic medicine for auditory nerve. The results showed that the effective rate (90.0 %) of the combined method group was higher than that (70.0%) of the single trophic medicine for auditory nerve group (P < 0.01). The results suggest that acupuncture can improve cure rate of sudden deafness and can shorter the time of the disease. It has worthy of clinical useness and would be popularized.

      摘要:142 cases of abdominohysterectomy were divided into two groups, one of which was employed acupuncture besides routine epidural anaesthesia(EA). We compared their clinical observation and laboratorial detection. All results show that: (1)Acupuncture have good regulation actions on hypertensives during anaesthesia. (2) Acupuncture can reduce the disturbance of general circulatory system which induced by anaesthesia and operation under EA. (3) Acupuncture can enhance the effectiveness of the EA. (4) Acupuncture can decrease the fever number after operation. (5) Acupuncture can enhance the cell immunity of organism. As a result of observation, this method is especially suitable for the aged, critical, serious, cardiovascular, or other complication patients. So, we recommend this combined anaesthesia method.

      摘要:This study was aimed at investigating the action of ventral roots on the input of pain and acupuncture analgesic information. The results showed that (1) before unilateral L4 and L5 ventral rhizotomy,the difference of the pain threshold between the two sides was unmarked, (2) the third day after unilateral L4 and L5 ventral rhizotomy, the pain threshold on the rhizotomy side was apparently higher than that of normal rats and that of the control side, (3) the third day after unilateral L4 and L5 ventral rhizotomy, the effect of electroacupuncture (EA) analgesia on the rhizotomy side was increased when applying EA, compared with not only that of the control side but a1so that after EA in normal rats, but was insignificant statistically.

      摘要:Experiments were performed on 60 Sprague-Dawley rats. Using the extracellular recording method, We recorded the frequencies of spontaneous and evoked discharge of pain excitation neurons in the periaqueductal gray (PAG) to investigate the effects of TRH, ACh microinjected into nucleus cuneiformis(NCF) on the frequencies of evoked discharge of pain(PEN) and the relation of TRH to cholinergic nerve. The results as follows: (1) Injection of TRH(0. 5μg/0. 5μl, n = 12), ACh(2. 5μg/o. 5μl, n=11)into NCF could all suppress the frequencies of evoked discharge of PEN in PAG(P<0.001, 0.01, 0. 05), the maximal inhibitory rate was 77. 3±7. 5 % and 78. 4 ±7.0 % respectively. (2)Inhibitory effects of ACh (n = 5) could be antagonised by preinjection of atropine(2. 5μg/0. 5μl) into NCF(P < 0.05), but TRH(n = 6) not. (3) Atropine(2. 5μg/0.5μl, n = 8 ) injected into NCF could not significantly influence the evoked discharge of PEN in PAG. These findings suggest that some neurons in NCF might participate in the process to modulate noxious information transmission in CNS. TRH and ACh might be a neuromodulator or transmitter in the antinociception of NCF. The inhibitions of ACh may be mediated by cholinergic M-receptor. but TRH could not be mediated by cholinetgic Mreceptor.

      摘要:In order to provide foundation for explaining the mechanism of the analgesic effect elicited by stimulation of septa which is mediated via habenular nuclei, the afferent connections of NOS positive neurons of habenular nuclei from the septal area were studied by combined method of horseradish peroxidase(HRP) and nicotinamide adenosine dinucleotide phosphate diaphorase (NADPH-d) in rats. The results showed that the lateral habenular nucleus received the prOections of NOS PoSitive neurons from the ventral part of vertical limb of diagonal band nucleus(VDB), the horizontal limb of diagonal band nucleus(HDB) and the dorsal part of VDB, that the medial habenular nucleus received a few proections of NOS positive neurons from the ventral part of VDB. It is possible that the fiber connections of NOS positive neurons between septal area and habenular nuclei are one of their important morphological basis for acupuncture analgesia.

      摘要:To elucidate the mechanisms of acupuncture treatment for Alzheimer's disease(AD), we injected the lipopolysaccharide (LPS) intraperitoneally to 21 22 month old (aged) Spraque-Dawley (SD) rats to mimic the inflammatory state in the AD brains. The RT-PCR technique was used to observe the changes of expression of interleukin IL-1β and IL-6 mRNA in rat brain and pituitary following LPS injection and acupuncture treatments. The results have shown that the expression of IL-1β and IL-6 mRNA in aged rat cortex, cerebellum and pituitary was higher when compared with 4 month old(young) rats and repeated acupuncture could attenuate the expression in aged rats. The results indicated that acupuncture inhibits the gene expression of cytokines in the aged rat brain and pituitary, it may be responsible for the acupuncture treatment of AD and other neurodegenerative diseases.

      摘要:In the present study, radioimmunoassay (RIA), RNA dot blot and computer image analysis technique were used to study the influence of electroacupuncture (EA) on the expression of pituitary estrogen receptor mRNA (ER mRNA) and the level of blood estradiol (E2) in the female rats. Four groups of randomly selected female rats were employed in the experiments: intact group (INT), intact + EA group (INT + EA), ovariectomized group (OVX) and ovariectomized +EA group (OVX + EA). The results indicate that the blood E2 level of OVX is significantly lower than that of INT (P < 0 . 01) and the grey density of hybridization dots in the INT is 64. 72±19. 71 and that in the OVX is 21. 82±4.72, which is significantly decreased compared with that in the INT (P <0.01). The level of blood E2 in the OVX + EA is markedly increased compared with that in the OVX (P < 0.01). The grey density of hybridization dots in the OVX + EA is 37. 61±5. 26, which is significantly higher than that in the OVX (P <0.01). There is no significant difference between the levels of E2 in the INT and INT + EA (P >0.05). The grey density of hybridization dots in the INT + EA is 64. 81±8.03, being no significant difference compared with that in the INT (P>0.05). The results suggest that EA may increase the blood E2 level and affect the pituitary ER mRNA expression in the ovariectomized rats, which may play a role in the normalization of the dysftinction of hypothalamic-pituitary-ovarian axis by EA.

      摘要:In this study, TUNEL staining was used to observe the effect of electro-acupuncture(EA) on apoptotic neuronal death induced by focal cerebral ischemia in rats. The results were as follows: In the sham-operated group and the EA treated group, TUNEL positive stained cell was not detected in the brain. In the ischemic group, a large number of apoptotic neuronal cells were detected in the infarcted area of cerebral cortex at 12h postischemia. In the ischemia + EA treated group, the number of apoptotic neuronal cells in the infarcted area reduced significantly. The results suggest that EA inhibits apoptotic neuronal death induced by focal cerebral ischemia.

      摘要:The model of reversible middle cerebral artery occlusion(MCAO) was used to study the effect of electroacupuncture(EA) on somatosensory evoked potential (SEP) and infarct volume after MCAO in rats. After 1 hour of MCAO, EA was applied at the points of Fengfu(DU 16)and Renzhong(DU 26).The results were as follows: (1) In MCAO group and MCAO + EA group the amplitude of SEP on the ipsilateral side of MCAO was nearly abolished at 30 min after MCAO and recovered to 25.5±14.1%,58. 6±27. 2 % (P <0.05)on day 7 after reperfusion. (2) The infarct volume in MCAO group and EA + MCAO group was 70. 72±25. 4mm3, 45. 65±11. 4mm3 (P <0.05) respectively after reperfusion 7 days following MCAO 2 hours.The results above indicate that EA might produce cerebroprotective effect after focal cerebral ischemia.

      摘要:The objective was to observe the effect of electroacupuncture on nitric oxide synthase (NOS) expression in the spinal ganglia and spinal cord. Methods: The nicotinamide adenosine dinucleotide phosphate diaphorase (NADPH-d) method was used after electroacupuncturing "Zusanli" (ST 36) point. Results: The numbers of heavily staining NOS positive neurons in the spinal ganglia and spinal cord were increased markedly on the acupuncture side as compared with the non-acupuncture side and control groups. The heavily staining NOS positive fibers and terminals were also increased markedly in the lamina I of spinal cord on acupuncture side. Conclusion: The NOS expression was significantly enhanced by electroacupuncture in the spinal ganglia and spinal cord. So it is possible that NO is one of the important morphological foundations for acupuncture effects.

      摘要:In this research, the changes of three monoaminotransmitters, ie. dopamine (DA), noradreanine (NA) and serotoniu(5-HT), in striatum corpus of Parkinson's disease rat model induced by 6-hydrox-ydopamine (6-OHDA) before and after acupuncture and moxibustion therapy were compared. Also the different effects of various acupuncture stimulation factors were observed. The results showed that the levels of three transmitters were significantly elevated after the treatment of Acu. & Mox. And among the treatment groups, the effects of Baihui and Dazhui points were better than Siguan group selected from limb points. The authors consider that Acu. or Mox. is a good way to raise monoaminotransmitters in rat brain, therefore it conduces to the recovery of Parkinson's disease.

      摘要:Experimental Parkinson's disease in rats was treated with point injection with different reagents on bilateral "Yang Lingquan (GB 34)". The results indicated that the times of rotation induced by apomorphinum were remarkably reduced no matter whether extra dopamine was given or not. The degree of reduction of rotation was closely related to increase of DA in the striatum. Though the change of serotonin had no significant correlation with the change of times of rotation, dopamine had significant positive correlation with the numbers of rotation. These findings suggest that point injection at experimental Parkinson's disease had significant correlation with dopamine, and related to serotonin and harmony of neurotransmitters in striatum.

      摘要:In this experiment, we have observed the effects of electroacupuncture on the contents of serum TSH, T4, T3, rT3, cortisol and testosterone, hypothalamic and pituitary β-EP, plasma cAMP, cGMP and the ratio of cAMP/cGMP. The results showed that the contents of serum T3 and T4 were obviously increased, while the plasma cAMP and cGMP decreased significantly by electroacupuncture at Zusanli acupoint. It suggested that electroacupuncture has a regulative action on the thyroid hormones, and cyclic nucleotides may be involved in the action.

      摘要:36 rabbits, male. The left radia were damaged for 3mm in width in the middle part by surgery.Then they were divided into two groups: electrotherapy group and control group. After 1, 2 and 4 weeks, the samples of local region were taken, and ohserved the positive-effect by histologic method on the fracture by electrotherapy. The results show: the electrotherapy can promote the organization of hematoma in the first week; and in the second, fourth week, it can accelerate the hyperplasia of osteoblast and the formation of callus.

      摘要:To study the regeneration effects of electric acupuncture on the sciatic nerve injury.Methods: The retrograde tracing of HRP was used on sciatic nerve injured rats. Results: The count of labelling cell in anterior horn of spinal cord and spinal ganglion of L4 and L5 in electric acupuncture group ranks first. There is a significant difference comparing with that of model control group. The count of labelling cell in traditional Chinese medicine group ranks secondly. And Western medicine group ranks thirdly. Conclusions: Electric acupuncture therapy improved the connections among peripheral nerves and central nerves, is one effective method in quickening nerve regeneration and improving nervous function.

    • The Experimental Study on Acupuncture Treatment of Simple Obesity in Rats

      摘要:The results showed that the obesity model of male SD rats might be obtained by high fat diet, the rate of production obesity was 56. 8%. The experiment studied that the obesity rats were cured by acupuncture and fenfluramine (FFA) respectively. The results showed that acupuncture had a good regulatory effect on the amount of food and water taken in, body weight, body length, Lee's index, fatty amount of body (pericardium, groin and perinephros), weight of main organs and gland, contents of TG,TC, LDL-C, HDL-C, BG in blood and AI. This action of acupuncture is better than that of FFA. Monoamine content of lateral hypothalamic area (LHA) in the experimental rats were observed by push-pull prefusion technology. The results showed that Noradrenaline (NA) content of LHA in control group was markedly higher than that in normal group, while the NA content of LHA in acupuncture group was markedly lower than that in control group. It suggests that the regulation of acupuncture on LHA was one of essential link in the antiobesity effect of acupuncture.

    • Observation on the Macrostructure of Zusanli Acupoint

      摘要:The tissues in different layers and sections of the fresh sample taken from Zusanli acupoint were observed with microscope(X525), using ABS mold and lymph perfusion methods. The results show that Zusanli and its control point(non-acupoint) don' t have any special structure except nerve, blood vessel, lymphatic vessel, fascia, tendon and muscle etc.. Acupoint doesn' t consist of one kind of tissue, but it is a spatial structure with multiple layers, which is composed of many kinds of tissues.
