      摘要:The article stated the therapeutical method and effect on 46 cases of delayed encephalopathy caused by carbon monoxide poisoning treated with acupuncture. The principle of treatment: activating brain and opening orifices, easing joint movement. Principal points: Fengfu(DU 16 ), Neiguan(PC 6), Renzhong(DU 26), Hegu(L 14), Taichong (LR 3), Fengchi (GB 20), Wangu(GB 12), Tianzhu(BL 10), Baihui(DU 20), Sishenchong(EX-HN 1 ). Observed changes of the SOD and LPO level in blood before and after treatment respectively. The result indicated that 10 cases were recovered; 25 cases were remarkable improved; 9 cases were improved; 2 cases were not improved, and the total effective rate was 95. 56 %. Acupuncture treatment can increase the SOD level, enhance free radical scavenger ability and decrease the LPO level.

    • Clinical Study on Facial Spasm Treated by Acupuncture at Houxi Point

      摘要:The curative effect and mechanism of facial spasm treated by acupuncture at Houxi point were studied. 220 cases of facial spasm were divided randomly into treatment and control groups, 175 cases were treated by puncturing Houxi point and 45 cases were treated with acupoint injection of Vitamin B_(12). Result: The total effective rate (98.8% ) in the treatment group was much better than that (75. 6 % ) in the control group, P < 0. 01. Results indicated that the shorter the course of disease, the higher the cure rate; the longer the course of disease, the lower the cure rate. Besides, the follow-up ob- servation indicated that the shorter the course of disease, the lower the recurrence rate; the longer the course of disease, the higher the recurrence rate. The acupuncture at Houxi point for treatment of facial spasm is a unique method, and has a good curative effect.

      摘要:Forty-five patients of enuresis were divided into two groups, the moxibustion group and the acupuncture group, and the effective rates of the two groups were observed. The result showed that the total effective rate of moxibustion group was 90. 0 %, while the effective rate of acupuncture group was 93. 3 %, there was no obvious difference between them (P > 0. 05 ). It pointed out that they had the same curative effect in the treatment of enuresis of children.

    • A Study on the Acupuncture Treatment of Primary Glaucoma

      摘要:The significant effects of acupuncture on decreasing pressure and ceasing ache have been observed in 27 ill eyes with primary glaucoma. The clinical symptoms were lightened with the decrease of ocular pressure, and visual acuity was elevated. Acute ocular hyperpressure was caused in 45 domestic rabbits, and the acupuncture treatment was adopted to them. The results showed that acupuncture could de- crease the ocular pressure significantly, the effects were persistent, and the activities of enzyme SDH and ATP in retina were enhanced, and the regulation and repairment of the tissue structure and ultramicro structure of retina were promoted.

      摘要:In the present study, the effect of pricking blood of "twelve-well points of the hand" in resisting cerebral ischemia was observed in 31 rabbits. These rabbits were randomly divided into control group (n = 10 ), ischemia group (n = 11 ) and ischemia plus blood letting group (n = 10). Results showed that two hours after occlusion of rabbit bilateral common carotid arteries, contents of Ca(2+), lipid peroxide (LPO) and cAMP of the brain tissues all increased significantly (P < 0. 05), but the activity of both superoxide dismutase (SOD) and glutathione peroxidase (GSH-Px) lowered evidently (P < 0. 01, 0. 05), indicating overload of intracellular Ca(2+), lipid peroxide (LPO) and cAMP of the brain tissues all increased significantly (P < 0. 05), but the activity of both superoxide dismutase (SOD) and glutathione peroxidase (GSH-Px) lowered evidently (P < 0. 01, 0. 05), indicating overload of intracellular Ca(2+) and increase of oxygen free radical. After bloodletting of "twelve-well points", contents of Ca(2+) and increase of oxygen free radical. After bloodletting of "twelve-well points", contents of Ca(2+), malonyldialdehyde (MDA) and cAMP lowered sig- nificantly (P < 0. 05 ), while the activity of SOD increased considerably (P < 0. 01 ). Results suggested that blood-letting of "twelve-well points" could resist cerebral ischemia-induced overload of intracellular Ca(2+), malonyldialdehyde (MDA) and cAMP lowered sig- nificantly (P < 0. 05 ), while the activity of SOD increased considerably (P < 0. 01 ). Results suggested that blood-letting of "twelve-well points" could resist cerebral ischemia-induced overload of intracellular Ca(2+) of the brain tissues and prevented the toxic action of oxygen free radical.

      摘要:MCAo model rat was used in the experiment. In order to observe the effection of blood-letting puncture in "twelve-well points" on CaM, we detected the CaM content of the cerebral ischemia region intracellular. The experiment showed that there were some inhibition for the content of active CaM in the Ca(2+) -CaM compound after treatment. Therefore, this treatment can protect the brain cell. It provided some facts for spreading and applying of this treatment.

      摘要:In the present study, effects of pricking blood at the "twelve-well points of the hand" ("pricking blood" in abbreviation), pricking blood plus intravenous injection of morphine, intravenous injection of morphine and painful stimulation (by clamping the skin of the bilateral upper limbs on the back side with a pair of hemostatic forceps) on the amplitude of rheoencephalogram (REG) were observed in rabbits with experimental cerebral ischemia. Results showed that painful stimulation induced by pricking blood at the "twelve-well points" of upper paws played a principal role on the amplitude of REG but was definitely not a sole factor.

      摘要:Both right and left facial nerve of rabbits were crashed and the degree of the injury was Sundgreeland IV. Then the injuried rabbits were devided into treatment group and the control. One week after injury, pulse electroacupuncture stimulation on acupoint (PEASA) were performed in treatment group, while the control group was left recovering naturally. The acupoints included "Yifeng" (SJ 17), "Quanliao" (SI 18 ), "Jiache" (ST 6 ), "Dicang" (ST 4 )," Sibai" (ST 2 )," Yangbai" (GB 14 ) and" Hegu" (LI 4). Two weeks were a course of the treatment. When the first (3W), second (6W) and third (9W ) course of the treatment were finished, EMG and NCV were measured respectively in both treatment and control group. Then the animals were sacrificed, facial nerve and buccal muscle tissue were collected for morphological study. As compared with the control group, the value of EMG and NCV were higher, and the morphological parameters(number and diameter of fiber, thickness of sheath) indicate the quality of regeneration were higher considerably, but the speed of axon regenerating did not increase significantly. The results of this experiment suggest PEASA promote facial nerve regeneration.

      摘要:The aim of present work was to study how nucleus raphe magnus(NRM) neurons are modulated by the nucleus lateral habenula(NLH), that plays a pivotal role in funnelling information from the limbic forebrain to the limbic midbrain area. Neuron discharges of NRM were recorded extracellularly by glass microelectrode in rats. Electrical stimulation of NLH for 5 see, when its intensity over 4V, could excitate NRM neurons, increasing unit discharges during stimulation, and inhibit the neurons, decreasing discharges after stopping stimulation, besides, the bi-directional modulation of immediate-excitation and post-inhibition of NLH on NRM neurons could be enhanced with the increase of stimulation intensity. But the effects of stimulation of nucleus accumbens(NAc) with the same series of intensities on the same neuron were all excitation during and stopping stimulation. Thus the bi-directional modulation of NLH on NRM neuron may be a specificity. After lesion of bilateral NLH, the discharges of NRM neurons were obviously increased (P < 0. 05 ), showing a tonic inhibition on them to be removed. On the background of discharge increase of NRM neurons after NLH lesion, the excitatory responses of NRM neuron to Sin Ⅱ stimulation were reversed to inhibitory responses. The phenomenon of excitatory-inhibitory change may be a regularity.

      摘要:Immunoelectron microscopic technique was used in the present study to observe the μ-opioid re- ceptor-like immunoreactive (MOR-LI) ultrastructures in the medullary subnucleus reticularis dorsalis (SRD) of the rat. The immunoreactive products were located on the surface of membranous cell or- ganelles, or on the surfaces of the vesicles in the cytoplasm. Many dendritic profiles, especially the small dendritic profiles, were immunopositive. The most common synaptic type was asymmetric synapses made by non-immunoreactive a-conal terminals with MOR-LI dendrites. On the other hand, MOR-LI products were occasionally found in neuronal cell bodies and a-conal terminals. For this reason, it was rarely observed that the axo-dendritic synapses were made by MOR-LI a-conal terminals with immunoreactive or non-immunoreactive dendrites. However, we happened to find a axo-axonal synape made by MOR-LI a-conal terminals with non-immunoreactive axonal terminals. The present study provided a morphologic evidence for the involvement of MOR in opioid analgesia by both presynaptic and postsynaptic mechanisms in the rat SRD.

      摘要:Immunohistochemical methods combined with computer image pattern analysis revealed that, (1 ) the relative content of CGRP in the superficial layer of spinal dorsal horn was 70. 35 ± 1. 29 in age matched (ND) group and 45. 08 ± 1. 35 in diabetic mellitus (DM) group modellized for 3 months, dropped significantly (P < 0. 001), which of electroacupuncture (EA) group was 58. 48 ± 1. 11, elevated significantly compared with DM group (P < 0. 001 ). The content of CGRP of DM group modellized for 6 months was similiar with that for 3 months; (2) the percentage and the intensity of CGRPLI positive neurons in spinal ventral horn of DM group for 3 months dropped significantly respectively compared with that of ND group (P < 0. 001 ), but the percentage of CGRP-LI positive neurons in EA group was similiar with (P >0. 05 ), and the staining intensity in EA group was weaker than (P < 0. 05 ) that of age matched group. These results indicate that CGRP contents in the superficial layer of spinal dorsal horn and ventral horn decrease in DM group, and EA can prevent it effectively.

      摘要:The effects of electroacupuncture on hypotension and the concentrations of intracellular free calcium ([ Ca(2+)]i) and free magnesium ([ Mg(2+)]i) and free magnesium ([ Mg(2+) ] i) in cardiac myocyte of rabbit were studied. The hemorrhagic hypotension was induced by losing blood from femoral artery of rabbit. [ Ca(2+) ] i) in cardiac myocyte of rabbit were studied. The hemorrhagic hypotension was induced by losing blood from femoral artery of rabbit. [ Ca(2+) ]i and [Mg(2+) ]i and [Mg(2+) ]i were determined by use of AR-CM-COM canon measurement system and the ionic probe fura-2 and fu- raptra. [ Ca(2+) ]i were determined by use of AR-CM-COM canon measurement system and the ionic probe fura-2 and fu- raptra. [ Ca(2+)] i was significantly decreased, while [ Mg(2+)] i was significantly decreased, while [ Mg(2+) ] i was increased, and the ratio of [ Ca(2+) ] i was increased, and the ratio of [ Ca(2+) ] i/ [Mg(2+) ] i/ [Mg(2+) ] i was decreased as the blood pressure went down with losing blood. The blood pressure and [Ca(2+) ] i was decreased as the blood pressure went down with losing blood. The blood pressure and [Ca(2+) ] i of treatment group rabbits were significantly raised by electroacupuncturing the points of " Renzhong" and "Chengjiang", and the ratio of [ Ca(2+) ] i of treatment group rabbits were significantly raised by electroacupuncturing the points of " Renzhong" and "Chengjiang", and the ratio of [ Ca(2 +) ] i/ [ Mg(2 +) ] i/ [ Mg(2+)] i was increased. The cardiac myocyte [ Ca(2+)] i was increased. The cardiac myocyte [ Ca(2+)] i and [ Mg(2+)] i and [ Mg(2+) ] i of normal rabbits had no clear changes by electroacupuncture. It suggested that intracellular free calcium and magnesium ion in cardiac myocyte may play an important role in regulating blood pressure by acupuncture.

      摘要:In the study, we used the method of in situ hybridization to explore the PPE-mRNA expression of the myenteric neurons after electroacupuncture. Results showed that the expression of PPE-mRNA after electroacupuncture were much more than those of the control. It suggests that there may be a close relationship between an increasing of PPE-mRNA expression in the enteric nervous system induced by electroacupuncture and the regulation of acupuncture on the function of gastrointestinal tract.

      摘要:In order to investigate whether enteric nervous system is involved in electroacupuncture analgesia, 64 Sprague-Dawley were randomly divided into four groups, control group, electroacupuncture (EA) group given electroacupuncture at bilateral "Futu" and "Zusanli" points, acute inflammatory visceral pain(VP) induced by injection of formalin into the colon wall and EA + VP group. The changes of density of nitric oxide synthase(NOS)-, acetylcholinesterase (AChE ) - positive neuronal celf body and fiber in rat colon and ilioceacal valve were observed by histochemical method. Results indicate that formalin induced evident visceral pain response, the pain score in EA+ VP group was significantly smaller than that in VP group (P < 0. 01 ). The densities of NOS-, AChE-positive neuronal cell body and fiber of colon and ilioceacal valve in EA group were significantly smaller than those in control group(P < 0. 01, P < 0. 05 ), on the contrary, the densities of NOS-, AChE-positive neuron and fiber in the colon and ilioceacal valve in VP group were significantly greater than those in control group(P < 0. 01, P < 0. 05 ) , and which in VP + EA group were smaller than those in VP group(P < 0. 01, P < 0. 05 ). The results suggest that nitrergic neuron and cholinergic neuron of the enteric nervous system are involved in the electroacupuncture anti-acute inflammatory visceral pain.

      摘要:In this paper, moxibustion and nonmoxibustion treatments were given to "Dazhui" (GV 14) of 106 nomal mice and cyclophosphamide treated mice, the effects of moxibustion on macrophage phagocytic function percentage of phagocytosis and phagocytic index of mice were observed. The results were as follows: Moxibustion at "Dazhui "could not increase macrophage phagocytic function of nomal mice, but had a remarkable strengthening effect on that in cyclophosphamide treated mice. The experiment suggested moxibustion had an effect of regulation.

      摘要:In order to study the role of cortex in acupuncture effect, the changes of conical temperature after electro-acupuncturing "Neiguan", or "Housanli" point (one side) were displayed by CIT in cats.Re- sults: (1) the conical temperature was increased in EA groups, but it was decreased in control group without EA within 30min, (2) the temperature in sib region (about Ant. Suprasylv in Gyms), 13(th) region and 11(th) region and 11(th) region (about Coronal Gyms) were elevated more than other regions in all EA groups. Otherwise there were also some respective high temperature regions in each group, for example, 20(th) region (about Coronal Gyms) were elevated more than other regions in all EA groups. Otherwise there were also some respective high temperature regions in each group, for example, 20(th) region in the group of acupuncture ipsilateral "Neiguan", 7(th) region in the group of acupuncture ipsilateral "Neiguan", 7(th) region in the group of contralateral "Neiguan", etc. Conclusion: The response of conical temperature after EA shows a main tendency to rise in temperature, there are some common regions raising temperature in all EA groups, and also has its specific region raising temperature in every EA group.     • Discussing about Variation of Anatomy and Acupoints

      摘要:In recent years, the authors have noticed that the variation of some anatomic sites and the location of corresponding acupoints are being paid more and more attention in clinical acupuncture and moxibustion. In clinical treatment, faulty location of some acupoints, failure in location these points, or even injury of adjoining organs are all closely related to the variation of the anatomic sites. The current report gives a more detailed discussion on some anatomic sites, such as supraorbital foramen, posterior sacral foramen, sternal foramen, xiphoid foramen, long palmar muscle variation or lacking and the location of related Cuanzhu(BL 2), Baliao(eight points in all), Tanzhong(RN 17), Yutang(RN 18), Zhongting(RN 16), Jiuwei(RN 15 ), Jianshi(PC 5) and Neiguan(PC 6).

      摘要:The most ideas about the meridian essence and phenomena might be partially right and the key to deep out study should have helped to bring about a complete understanding about the meridian system that could comprehend the classical and modern knowledge. Now what we should do was, more importantly, the choose the proper standpoint besides excluding the bias. General speaking, judging the meridian essence by evolutionism was not only a scientific research and also the shortcut to get the understanding. After widely investigating the possible prototypes of meridian system in animal evolution history, author found that the longitudinal-cord nervous system had the similar characteristics with the meridian system. That means the meridian system was some historic trace of the primary cord nervous system. This idea could be call the historical trace or atavism theory about the meridian essence. Nearly all the related studying results were in favor of the theory and it could reasonably comprehend the various meridian ideas. Author believed that the study on meridian essence from the standpoint of evolution should be the basic research field.
