      摘要:Objective: To determine if chronic morphine treatm ent affects the rat’s learni ng-memory ability and the induction of long-term potentiation (LTP) of hippoca mpal CA3 region, and to examine if electroacupuncture (EA) can improve learning -memo ry and LTP in morphine-dependent rats. Methods: 64 SD rats wer e randomized into co ntrol, morphine-abstinence model, EA-one-session and EA-multi-session grou ps. Mo rphine-abstinence model was established by i.p. of hydrochloride morphine. EA ( 2 Hz, 1~3 mA, 30 min) was applied to bilateral “Zusanli”(ST 36) and “Sany injiao”( SP 6), once and multiple times. The rats’ passive and active avoidance reaction s in a compartment equipped with a grid floor through which an electric shock (40 V) was delivered were used as the indexes of learning-memory. The population spi ke (PS) was recorded from pyramidal cells of CA3 in vivo, following stimulation of lateral perforant path in control and morphine-abstinence rats. For the ind uc tion of LTP, 4 trains (50 shocks/train, 500 Hz) high-frequency tetanic stimula tio ns were applied to lateral perforant path. Results: Results i ndicated that the attack times of morphine withdrawal syndrome of EA-one-session group at 24 h and EA-multi-session group at 24 h, 48 h and 72 h times were significantly fewer than t hose of morphine-abstinence model group (P<0.05). Passive expe riments displayed that the latency values of platform leaving of EA-one-session and EA-multi- sessi on groups were significantly shorter than that of model group (P<0.05). Results of active avoidance experiments indicated that the avoidance-reaction correct r at es of EA-multi-session group on the 1st , 2nd, 3rd days were significantly higher than those of model group , showing an improvement of learning-memory after acupunc tu re. In model group, the amplitude of tetanic stimulation induced PS potential w as attenuated significantly in comparison with that of control group, and those of EA-one-session and EA-multi-session groups were higher than that of mode l gro up, suggesting that EA could reverse morphine induced harmful influence on LTP a nd better synaptic transmission of hippocampal neurons. Local application of naloxone to CA3 area, the effect of EA on LTP was inhibited significantly, sugge sting an involvement of opium system in the therapeutic effect of EA. C onclusion:EA can improve morphine- induced lesion of learning-memory and modulate the sy naptic plasticity of neurons in perforant path- CA3 in morphine-dependent rats, a nd the effect of EA may be mediated by the endogenous opium system.

      摘要:Objective: To investigate the effect of electroacu puncture (EA) on changes of be havior and some related hormones of the hypothalamus-pituitary-adrenal (HPA) axi s in chronic stress rats. Methods: Fifty male SD Rats were eve nly randomized int o control, stress-model, Prozac-20, trussing-model and EA groups. Chronic s tres s model was established by using mixed stimulation including cool water swimming , tail-clamping, fasting, electric shock,etc., and trussing-model establishe d b y fastening the chronic stress rat to the animal table for 20 min, once daily, 21 days altogether. EA (2 Hz, 0.6 mA, 20 min) was applied to “Baihui” (GV 20) and “ Yintang”(EX-HN 3), once daily, continuously for 21 days. Prozac-20 (1.8 mg/k g) wa s given to the rats by using intragastric perfusion method. The rat’s behavior was observed by using Open-field method and the rat’s sucrose intake volume p er day under water-banning condition was calculated. The contents of corticotrop in releasing factor (CRF) in the hypothalamic tissue, adrenocorticotropic hormone (ACTH) in the pituitary and corticosterone (CORT) in the adrenal tissue were det ected with radioimmunoassay techniques. Results: Compared with control group, th e rats’ horizontal and vertical movement times and sucrose intake volume decrea s ed significantly while pituitary ACTH and adrenal CORT contents increased remark ably in both model and trussing-model groups (P<0.05). In compa rison with contro l group, the rats’ vertical movement times and sucrose intake volume increased c onsiderably while ACTH and CORT contents lowered significantly in both EA and P rozac-20 groups (P<0.05). Conclusion:Chronic stress may cause the stress rats to move less and result in hyperactivity of the HPA axis, whereas electroacupun cture can promote recovery of the rats’ abnormal behavior and adjust the secret ion of ACTH and CORT by inhibiting the hyperactivity of the HPA axis.

      摘要:Objective: To explore the role of cytochrome oxida se (COX) in the occurrence o f diabetes mellitus (DM) with concomitant cerebral ischemia and observe the effe ct of acupuncture on COX activity in the hippocampal tissues. Methods: A total o f 22 female Wistar rats, weighing about 150 g, were used in the present study. D M model was established by intraperitoneal injection of streptozotocin ( 60 mg/k g) 4 days before experimental cerebral ischemia. Cerebral ischemia (CI) model was established by using two-vessel (bilateral common carotid arteries) occlusion an d reperfusion method. The occlusion and reperfusion were repeated twice. Bl ood sugar level was detected 7 days after STZ-administration. The animals with th e blood glucose concentration being more than 15.5 mmol/L were selected as diabet ic rats. At the same time, acupuncture of “Baihui”(GV 20), “Sanyinjiao”(SP 6), etc. was given once every other day, 20 sessions altogether. The animals were divided into normal control group (n=5), DM+sham-operation gro up (n=5), DM+CI gr oup (n=6) and DM+CI +acupuncture group (n=6). Af ter treatment the rats were kill ed for collecting brain samples. Cytochemical staining method was used to detect the activity of COX in CA1 and CA3 areas of the hippocampus. COX-positive rea ct ion (30 areas/section) was analyzed with MIS 2000 image analyzer. Resul ts: COX-re action positive neurons and buttons were found in both CA1 and CA3 areas of the hippocampus. The optical density (OD) values of COX-reaction products in DM+CI group (CA1: 2 66 .2±15.6,CA3: 386.1±27.6) were markedly lower than those in normal co ntrol group (CA1: 347.9±66.2,CA3: 462.6±43.8; P<0.001). C omparison between DM +CI+acupuncture group and DM+CI group showed that the OD values of the former gr oup were significantly higher than those of the later group (CA1:336.3±40.8 vs 266.2±15.6,P<0.001; CA3:447.1±36.8 vs 386.1± 27.6, P<0.001). Conclusion: In DM and DM+CI rats, COX activity in the hippocampus lowered or significantly lowere d, while after acupuncture treatment, it increased significantly, meaning an imp rovement of the metabolism in the brain tissues, which may contribute to the the rapeutic effect of acupuncture in the treatment of DM combined with cerebral isc hemia.

      摘要:Objective: To investigate the influence of pretrea tment with repeated electroacupun cture(EA)of “Zusanli”(ST 36) on the expression of HSP 90 in spinal cord isch em ia-reperfusion injury rabbits. Methods: 16 male New Zealan d white rabbits (2.0 ~2.5 kg) were randomly and evenly assigned to control group that received sodiu m pentobarbitone 30 mg/kg (i.v.) everyday continuosly for 5 days, and EA group tha t received anesthesia and EA of “Zusanli”(ST 36) 30 min a day for 5 days. Twenty-four h ours after the last treatment, spinal cord ischemia was induced by an infrarenal a ortic occlusion for 20 min. 48 h after ischemia-reperfusion, the rabbits we re killed and heat shock protein (HSP) 90 expression of the spinal cord (L 5~L 7) tiss ue was assayed with immunohistochemical method. Results: No signific ant differences we re found between two groups in mean femoral arterial pressure (MAP), rectal temp erature, pH, partial pressure of oxygen (PaO 2), partial pressure of CO 2 (PaC O 2) and glucose content of the femoral arterial blood. HSP 90 expression in the ante r ior horn of the spinal cord in EA group were significantly higher than that in c ontrol group 48 h after ischemia-reperfusion (P<0.01). Conclusion: Repeatitive el ectroacupuncture pretreatments at “Zusanli” can induce upregulation of HSP 90 e xpression in the lumbar spinal cord after infrarenal aortic occlusion, which may contribute to the protection effect of EA on the ischemic injured spinal cord.

      摘要:Objective:To observe the effect of electroacupunc ture (EA) at different tim e and frequencies on somatostatin (SOM)mRNA expression positive neurons in the l ateral septal nucleus (LSN) in rats. Methods: A total of 60 SD rats were randomi zed into control, 2 Hz-EA and 128 Hz-EA groups which were further divided int o 5-o ’clock, 11-o’clock, 17-o’clock and 23-o’clock subgroups. Unilateral “Hu anti ao”(GB 30) was punctured and stimulated electrically by setting the parameters being strength of 3 V, wave-width of 1 ms, frequencies of 2 Hz and 128 Hz, and stimu lating duration of 30 min. After acupuncture treatment, the rats were killed for taking out the brain samples. Following freezing, the brain tissue was cut into sections (40 μm) and the in situ hybridization histochemical method was used for displaying SOM mRNA expression. The number of SOM mRNA expression positive neuro ns of LSN (4 sections/rat) was calculated under light microscope. Re sults: After EA of “Huantiao”(GB 30), compared with control group, SOM mRNA positive neurons in LSN of 2 Hz-EA group at 11- and 17-o’clock and 128 Hz-EA group at 5-, 1 7- and 23-o’clock increased significantly in the number (P<0.05~0.01). Com parison between 2 Hz- and 128 Hz-EA groups showed that SOM mRNA positive neur ons in LSN of the later group at 5-,17- and 23-o’clock were markedly more tha n those of the former group at the same time courses, suggesting that the effect of 128 Hz EA on SOM mRNA expression was apparently stronger than that of 2 Hz E A. In 128 Hz-EA group, comparison among different time courses, SOM mRNA positive neu rons at 17-o’clock were markedly more than those of 5-,11- and 23-o ’clock, indicating that the effect of EA at 17-o’clock on SOM mRNA expressi o n was stronger than those of EA in the other time courses.Conclusion: EA stimulation in duced increase of the number of SOM mRNA expression positive neurons in the LSN h as a close association with the time and frequencies of EA in rats.

    • Morphological Basis of “the Pathway of Qi”

      摘要:Objective:To explore the neural pathway between th e internal organs and their B ack-Shu and Front-Mu points. Methods: In 170 Wistar rats, fluorescent double-lab eling method was used in this study. The tracer agents 10% Propidum iodide (PI, 20 μL) and 10% Bisbenzimide (Bb, 20 μL) were separately injected into “Gansh u” (BL 18), “Qimen”(LR 14) and liver, “Xinshu”(BL 15), “Juque”(CV 14) and hea rt, etc.. The labeled cells in the related dorsal root ganglia (DRG) were detect ed under microscope. Results: Regarding Zang- organs, the doubly labeled neurons of “Ganshu”(BL 18) and liver were found from T 8 to T 12, those of “Q imen”(LR 14) and liver: T 8~T 12; “Ganshu”, “Qimen”: T 7~T 11; “Xinsh u”(BL 15) and hear t: T 3~T 6; “Juque”(CV 14) and heart: T 3~T 7; “Xinshu” and “Juque”: T 2~T 6; “ Pishu”(BL 20) and spleen: T 10~L 1; “Zhangmen”(LR 13) and spleen: T 10~T 13; “Pi shu” and “Zhangmen”: T 9~L 1; “Feishu”(BL 13) and lung: C 8~T 5; “Zh ongfu”(LU 1) and lung: T 1~T 5; “Feishu” and “Zhongfu”: C 8~T 4; “Shenshu”(BL 23) and ki dney: T 13~L 3; “Jingmen”(GB 25) and kidney: T 12~L 2; “Shenshu ” and “Jingmen” : T 13~L 1. In regard to Fu-organs, the doubly labele d neu rons of “Danshu”(BL 19) and common bile duct were found from T 9 to T 12 ; “Riyue”(GB 24) and common bile duct: T 10~T 11; “Danshu” and “Riyue”: T 9~T 11; “We ishu”(BL 21) and stoma ch: T 9~T 13; “Zhongwan” and stomach: T 8~T 12; “Weishu” and “ Zhongwan”: T 9~T 12; “Dachangshu”(BL 25) and large intestine: L 2~L 5; “Tianshu”(ST 25) and lar ge intestine: T 12~L 4; “Dachangshu” and “Tianshu”: T 13~L 2; “ Xiaochangshu”(BL 2 7) and small intestine: L 1~L 4; “Guanyuan”(CV 4) and small intestine: T 13~L 3; “Xiaochangshu” and “Guanyuan”: L 1~L 3; “Pangguangshu”(BL 28) and bladd er: L 5~S 2; “Zhongji”(CV 3) and bladder: L 5~S 3; “Pangguangshu” and “Zhon gji”: L 4~S 2. Conclusion: There exist neurons in the spinal DRG that contr ol the internal or gans and the body surface, which not only provides reasonable explanations about the mechanism of the referred pain, but also suggests that the sensory impulses of acupuncture stimulation may exert a direct effect on the functional activiti es of the internal organs through the branches of the afferent nerve. Results of the present study provide anatomical basis for the theory of “Qijie” (pathway of qi) and clinical application of Back-Shu- and Front-Mu-poi nts in the treatment of visceral disorders.

      摘要:Objective:To study the relatively-specific correlation be tween Foot-Yangming Mer idian and the stomach. Methods:45 rabbits anesthetized with ure thane were random ly divided into normal saline (NS) group, atropine model group, electroacupu ncture (EA) of Foot-Yangming Meridian [“Zusanli”(ST 36), “Tianshu”(ST 25), “Li angmen”(ST 21) and “Sibai”(ST 2)] group, Foot-Shaoyang Meridian [“Yang lingq uan”(GB 34), “Daimai”(GB 26), “Riyue”(GB 24) and “Yangbai”(GB 14)] group and Foot-Taiyang Meridian [“Chengjin”(BL 56), “Cuanzhu”(BL 2), etc.] gro up, with 9 rabbits in each group. After EA treatment, the rabbit’s gastric antrum m uscle was taken to be incubated, and centrifuged for isolating smooth muscle cells, a nd then the cells were fixed with 2.5% glutaraldehyde and mounted to glass slice s. The cell length was detected under light microscope and the cellular contract ion percentage was calculated after treatment with atropine. Results:After treatment with atropine, the smooth myocyte length of atr opine model group (63.26±6.62 μm) was significantly larger than that of NS gro up ( 56.8 6±7.37 μm, P<0.05); while in comparison with model group, the cellular length of EA-Foot-Yangming group (39.16±2.33 μm) was obviously shorter (P<0 .01). No significant differences were found between model group and EA-Foot-S hao yang ( 59.63±8.31 μm), and between model group and EA-Foot-Taiyang group (58.41 ± 6.42 μm). Findings indicated that after administration of atropine, the g astr ic smooth myocytes were in relaxation state, after EA of acupoints of the Stomac h Meridian of Foot-Yangming, they were activated to induce contraction via sup pr essing M-receptor, suggesting that there exists a relatively specific correlat io n between Foot-Yangming Meridian and the stomach. Conclusion: Puncturing acupoin ts of Foot-Yangming Meridian can cause the smooth myocytes of rabbit gastric a ntrum to produce contraction.

      摘要:Objective: To explore time-effect relation of ele ctro-acupuncture (EA) of “Zusa nli”(ST 36) in influencing gastric mucosal total NOS and iNOS activity in rats with a lcohol-induced gastric mucosal injury. Methods: 126 Wistar ra ts were randomly div ided into model control group and EA group which were further divided into 0-h , 0.5-h, 1.0-h, 3.0-h, 6.0-h, 12.0-h, and 24.0-h subgroups (each n =9) respectively . Bilateral “Zusanli” (ST 36) were punctured and stimulated electrically with parameters of frequency of 15 Hz, continuous waves, electric current of 2~3 mA and duration of 30 min. After treatment, the rats of two groups were killed at 0-h, 0.5-h, 1.0-h, 3.0-h, 6.0-h, 12.0-h, and 24.0-h respectively for taking out gastr ic tissues. The contents of total NOS and iNOS in the rats' gastric mucosal tissues were assayed with nitrate reductase method. Results: Comparison between model and EA groups at the aforementioned time courses showed no statistical differe nces in the contents of both total NOS and iNOS of the gastric mucosal tissue ( P>0.05) . Nevertheless, the contents of both total NOS and iNOS in EA-0-h subgroup w ere higher than those of model control-0-h subgroup, suggesting that acupuncture stimula tio n might play an immediate role in raising total NOS and iNOS contents in the gas tric m ucosal tissues to a certain degree. Conclusion: EA of “Zusanl i”(ST 36) may pro duce an instant light action in raising total NOS and iNOS levels in the gastric muco sal tissue, and the time-effect of electroacupuncture in protecting gastric muc osal injury needs to be confirmed further.

    • Visualization Study on Fengchi (GB 20) Based on Fictitious Human Technique

      摘要:Objective: To reconstruct digitalized three-dimen sional (3D) image of Fengchi (GB 20) in fictitious visible human model. Methods: Based on the d atasets of VHP (vi sible human project) and the computerized 3D models of VOXEL-MAN, combining wi th our accumulated abundant knowledge about the acupoint’s anatomical structure, acupuncture, and utilizing computerized image processing techniques including differentiation, segmentation, visualization, etc., this study is designed to d evelop visible 3D-Navigator about GB-20. Results: The so ftware of 3D representat ion of GB-20 was developed successfully, operator can observe the spatial tiss ue, structure, organs around Fengchi (GB 20) point and the process of acupuncture n eedle insertion interactively and vividly. Viewing from both sagittal plane and transverse section, if the needle-tip is toward the nose-tip, the needle-ins erti on is safer due to minimal possibility of injuring the brain stem, thus, the ins erted acupuncture needle ( 1.5 cun long being safe) should be pushed forward below the nose plane. Conclusion: The 3D image expression of acupun cture of Fengchi (GB 20) has been realized by using visualization technique.

      摘要:Objective: To research the significance of differen t intensitie s of electroacupuncture (EA) in the regulation of blood pressure. Methods: A tot al of 44 cases of excess-syndrome type hypertension patients were divided by randomizing into high-intensity EA group (n=21) and medium -intensi ty EA group (n=23) . Bilateral Quchi (LI 11) and Taichong (LR 3) were punctured and stimulated with the same continuous waveform, same frequency (70 pulses/min), and different ele c tric current intensities:3.7 mA (high intensity) and 2.7 mA (medium intensity). EA treatment w as given to the patients with double blind method. Results: T he sensation thres hold and pain threshold of high-intensity EA and medium-intensity EA groups w ere 1.50±0.29 mA and 1.52±0.33 mA, 3.93±0.47 mA and 3.89±0.43 mA respect ively. Following high-intensity EA stimulation, the systolic and diastolic blood press ur e values increased from 22.0±1.8 kPa and 11.9±0.3 kPa to 26.2±1.6 kPa ( P< 0.0 1) and 12.0±0.7 kPa separately; while after medium-intensity EA stimulation , th e systolic and diastolic blood pressure values declined significantly from 22.3 ±1.6 kPa and 11.9±0.8 kPa to 20.7± 1.4 kPa(P<0.01)and 11 .3±0.7 kPa( P<0.01)respectiv ely. Conclusion: The electric current intensity of EA plays an important role in the regu lation of blood pressure. The high-intensity EA may raise blood pressure while t he medium-intensity EA has the effect of lowering blood pressure and the later is suitable to treat excess-syndrome type hypertension patients.

      摘要:Objective: To observe the therapeutic effect of ce ntro-square needling combined with moxibustion for “Jinbi” (muscular rheumatism). Methods: A total of 74 “J inbi” outpatients including tenosynovitis of long head of biceps brachii, external humeral epicondylitis, injury of medical and/or lateral collatera l ligament of knee and joint, and tenosynovitis stenosans of styloid process or radius were randomly allocated to treatment group (n=40) and con trol group (n=34 ). In treatment group, Ashi-point was punctured first, then its superior, inf er ior, left and right borders in the tenderpoint region were punctured respe ctivel y combined with ignited moxa cones (attached to the needle-handle). Acupoints u se d in control group were Ashi-point, Jianliao (TE 14), Quchi (LI 11), Yinlingq ua n (SP 9), Lieque (LU 7), etc., combined with local TDP irradiation. The treatmen t was given once daily in the first 5 days, and then once every other day, with 15 sessions being a therapeutic course. Then the therapeutic effects of the two groups were compared. Results: After one course of treatment, in treatment and control groups, 25 and 8 cases were cured, 8 and 7 cases had marked improvement, 6 and 13 had improvement, and 1 and 6 failed, with the effective rates being 97 .5% and 82.3% respectively. There was a significant difference between the two g roups, i.e., the effective rate of treatment group was much higher than that of control group (P<0.01). Conclusion: Centro- square needling combined with moxibustion is effective in the treatment of muscular rheumatism.

      摘要:Objective: Observing the therapeutic effect of the rmal needle (acupuncture nee dle warming through moxibustion) on clinical symptoms of rheumatic arthritis pat ients.Methods:A total of 70 cases of rheumatic arthritis outpatien ts were randomized into treatment group (n=40) and control group (n=30). Patients of treatment gro up were treated with thermal needle therapy and those of control group treated w ith only filiform needle. No significant differences between two groups were fou nd in the sex, age, duration of disease and total score of main symptoms (pain, swelling, distention, aversion to cold, heaviness and motion disturbance) before treatment. Acupoints used were Geshu (BL 17), Shenshu (BL 23), Zusanli (ST 36), Jianyu (LI 15), Quchi (LI 11), Yangchi (TE 4), etc., according to syndrome diff erentiation and the locations. The treatment was given once every other day, with 10 sessions being a therapeut ic course. Results: After 2 courses of treatment, the total scores of treatmen t and control groups decreased from 6.31±2.66 and 6.28±2.30 before treatment to 1.71±1.65 and 2.55±1.99 after treatment respectively; while erythrocyte sedimentation rate (ESR) values of these two groups decreased from 24.39±15.26 mm/h and 25.1±13.98 mm/h before treatment to 10.12±4.18 mm/h and 14.10±4.01 mm/h after treatment respectively. Of the 40 and 30 cases of treatment and contr ol groups, 12 and 3 were cured, 26 and 21 had improvement, 2 and 6 failed, with the total effective rates being 95% and 80% separately. The therapeutic effect o f treatment group was significantly superior to that of control group (P <0.05). Conclusion: The therapeutic effect of thermal needle therapy is strikingly higher than that of filiform needle therapy for rheumatic arthritis.

      摘要:In the present paper, the authors review recent pr ogresses of acu-moxibustion tr eatment of experimental diabetes mellitus(DM)and insulin resistance(IR)of ty pe Ⅱ(TⅡ)DM and other endocrinous metabolism-associated diseases (EMAD )from 1) study on the effect of acu-moxibustion on experimental DM and its chronic comp li cations(diabetic vascular pathological change, nervous lesion and retinopathy) and mechanisms, and 2) study on the effect of acu-moxibustion on insulin growth fact or-1 receptor (IGF-1R) in TⅡDM and EMAD animals. In addition, the authors p ut f orward some existent problems in the research on DM, IR and EMAD, such as ① the generally acknowledged effective acupoints; acupuncture induced effect or stres s reaction, ② needling maneuvers, needle retention duration and stimulation int ensities, ③ systematic study on the effect of the metabolism of glucose and fa t, glycosylation-oxydation stress, aldose-reductase activity on the occurrenc e a nd development of the complications of DM, the interaction among hormones, and i ts relation to nerve-endocrine-immune network, ④ different levels of resea rche s including wholism, cytology and molecular biology, ⑤ the acting target site o f acupuncture, ⑥ indexes and evaluating methods for IR, ⑦ the effect of fre e fatty acid on IR, and ⑧ new trains of thought for improving IR.

      摘要:This article reviews studies on the role of vaso- active substances in acu-moxibustion treatment of cardio-cerebrovascular diseases in recent 6 yea rs from ① treatment of angina pectoris of coronary heart disease, ② treatm ent of hypertension, and ③ cerebral ischemia and infarction. A great number of cl in ical and experimental results indicate that acupuncture and moxibustion can regulate the levels of plasma vaso-active substances including endothelin, c al citonin gene related peptide, thromboxane A 2, prostacylin, nitric oxide, angi ot esinⅡ, atrial natriuretic peptide and neurotensin. Acu-moxibustion stimulatio n induced favorable regulation on plasma vaso-active substance levels may contrib ute to its therapeutic effect in improving cardio-cerebrovascular diseases.

      摘要:In the present paper, the authors review recent de velopment of clinical trea tment of chronic gastritis with acupuncture from ① filiform needle therapy, ② moxibustion therapy, ③ hot red needle therapy, ④ body acupuncture combined w it h otopoint-plaster therapy, ⑤ acupuncture combined with Chinese herbal medic ine s, and ⑥ acupuncture combined with Western medicines; and make a preliminary an alysis and evaluation on ① the therapeutic effect and safety, and ② characte rs and regularities. Moreover, the authors put forward some existent problems in t he research on clinical treatment of chronic gastritis including lack of united standards for diagnosis and evaluation of the therapeutic effect, lack of random ized control trial design, lack of comparison between acute and chronic gastriti s, and among different syndrome types, different therapies, different therapeuti c duration, etc.
