      摘要:Objective To study the underlining mechanism of electroacupuncture(EA) in regulating leukocyte counts in the rabbit.Methods A total of 75 rabbits were randomly divided into normal control,leukocytosis model,leukocytosis+EA,leukopenia model,leukopenia+EA groups,with 15 cases in each.EA(2-20 Hz,1-2 mA) was applied to "Dazhui"(DU 14),bilateral "Zusanli"(ST 36) and bilateral "Geshu"(BL 17) for 20 min,once daily for 5 days.Leukocytosis and leukopenia models were duplicated by intravenous injection of coliform(0.1 ml/kg) and cyclophosphamide(30 mg/kg) separately.Peripheral blood leukocyte counts were detected every day.At the end of the experiment,the rabbit's spleen tissue was collected under anesthesia,and the diameter of splenic sinusoid basal lamina eyehole was measured under scanning electronic microscope.Results Compared with normal control group,after i.v.coliform and cyclophosphamide,leukocytes increased and decreased significantly and respectively,while the area of the splenic sinusoid basal lamina eyehole in leukocytosis model group increased lightly and that of leukopenia model group reduced obviously(P<0.01).In comparison with their individual model group,the leukocyte count in leukocytosis+EA group decreased considerably(P<0.05),while that of leukopenia+EA group increased markedly(P<0.01).The area of splenic sinusoid basal lamina eyehole in leukocytosis+EA group decreased apparently(P<0.05),and that in leukopenia+EA group increased remarkably(P<0.05).Conclusion EA is able to regulate the leukocyte counts in coliform-induced leukocytosis and cyclophosphamide-induced leukopenia rabbits,which may be related with its effects in improving the splenic sinusoid basal lamina eyehole activity.

      摘要:Objective To select the best combination of the commonly-used acupoints [Zhongwan(CV 12),Neiguan(PC 6),and Zusanli(ST 36)] for treatment of gastric disorders.Methods Forty-eight Wistar rats were randomly divided into 8 groups: model,ST36,CV12,PC6,ST36+PC6,ST36+CV12,CV12+PC6 and ST36+CV12+PC6 by factorial design method.Acute gastric mucosal lesion model was established by intragastric perfusion of anhydrous alcohol.EA(1-3 mA,30 Hz)was applied to the above-mentioned acupoints for 20 min respectively.And after EA,gastric mucosal lesion index(LI),pathological lesion integral score(PLIS) were calculated and mucosal ultramicrostructural changes observed by optical microscope and transmission electron microscope respectively.Results Compared with model group,the gastric mucosal LI and PLIS of ST36,CV12,PC6,ST36+CV12,ST36+PC6,CV12+PC6,ST36+CV12+PC6 groups all decreased significantly(P<0.05).Comparison among 7 EA groups showed that both LI and PLIS of ST36+CV12+PC6 group were significantly lower than those of ST36,CV12,PC6,ST36+CV12,ST36+PC6 and CV12+PC6 groups(P<0.05).No significant differences were found between every two groups of ST36,CV12,PC6,ST36+CV12,ST36+PC6 and CV12+PC6 groups(P>0.05) in both LI and PLIS.Ultrastructural results showed that the injury of gastric mucosal parietal cells and delomorphous cells including mitochondrial swelling,crista arrange disorder and breaking,enlargement of the rough endoplasmic reticulum,ribosome exfoliation,etc.in model group was serious,but lightened significantly in EA groups particularly in ST36+CV12+PC6 group.Conclusion ST36,PC6 and CV12 combination can effectively reduce anhydrous alcohol-induced gastric mucosal lesion in rats,and may be used as a basic formula for treatment of stomach diseases.

      摘要:Objective To study the underlying mechanism of electroacupuncture(EA) in improving learning-memory ability in vascular dementia(VD) rats.Methods SD rats were randomized into control,sham operation(sham),VD model,non-acupoint and acupoint groups,with 10 cases in each.VD model was established by occlusion of the bilateral common carotid arteries.Morris water maze test was performed to detect the rats' learning-memory ability.The expression of N-methyl-D-aspartate receptor(NMDAR)-2 B mRNA in hippocampal CA 1 region and dentate gyrus was measured by hybridization in situ.EA(2 Hz,1-2 mA)was applied to "Baihui"(GV 20),"Dazhui"(GV 14) and bilateral "Shenshu"(BL 23) and non-acupoint(the chest-abdominal juncture between the first and the second lumbar vertebrae) for 20 min,once daily for 30 days.Results Self-comparison showed that 6 weeks after modeling,the escape latencies of control and sham groups,and the lingering duration in the 3rd quadrant of water pool of model,non-acupoint and acupoint groups decreased significantly(P<0.05),while the escape latencies of model,non-acupoint and acupoint groups,and the lingering duration of control and sham groups increased considerably(P<0.05).No significant differences were found between control and sham groups,and among model,non-acupoint and acupoint groups in the escape latency and the lingering duration in the 3rd quadrant(P>0.05).On the 11th week after modeling,compared to their individual escape latencies and lingering duration on the 6th week,the escape latencies of control,sham and acupoint groups shortened obviously(P<0.05),while the lingering duration in the 3rd quadrant of the same 3 groups postponed significantly(P<0.05).Compared with model group,the escape latency of acupoint group shortened obviously and the lingering duration increased significantly(P<0.05).No significant differences were found between control and sham groups,and between modeland non-acupoint groups in these two indexes(P>0.05).Compared to control/sham group,the grey values of NMDAR-2 B mRNA expression in hippocampal CA 1 region and dentate gyrus in model and non-acupoint groups decreased significantly(P<0.05).Compared to model group,the grey values of NMDAR-2 B mRNA expression in these two brain regions increased markedly(P<0.05).No significant difference was found between control and sham groups,and between model and non-acupoint groups(P>0.05).Conclusion Acupoint-EA is able to improve VD rats' learning-memory ability which may be related to its effect in upregulating the expression of NMDAR-2 B mRNA in hippocampal and dentate gyrus.

      摘要:Objective To observe the effect of acupotomy lysis on serum matrix metalloproteinase(MMP)-3 and MMP-13 contents in osteoarthritis(OA) rabbits.Methods A total of 34 New Zealand rabbits were randomly divided into normal group(n=7),model group(n=7),acupotomy group(n=10) and electroacupuncture(EA) group(n=10).OA model was established by left-hindlimb-joint-immobilization method.Acupotomy lysis was applied to the affected joint,once a week for 3 weeks.EA(2/100 Hz,2 mA) was applied to "Yinlingquan"(SP 9),"Yanglingquan"(GB 34) and "Liangqiu"(ST 34) on the left hindlimb for 10 min,3 times a week for 3 weeks.Serum MMP-3 and MMP-13 contents were detected with enzyme linked immunosorbent assay(ELISA) method.Results In comparison with model group(grade Ⅲ: 1 case;grade Ⅳ: 4 cases),the left knee-joint-motion range of rabbits in acupotomy and EA groups(grade Ⅰ: 1 and 1 case;grade Ⅱ: 4 and 3 cases;grade Ⅲ: 2 and 2 cases;grade Ⅳ: 1 and 2 cases separately) increased significantly(P<0.05).Compared with normal group,serum MMP-3 and MMP-13 contents in model group increased significantly(P<0.05);while compared with model group,both MMP-3 and MMP-13 levels of acupotomy and EA groups reduced considerably(P<0.05).No obvious difference was found between acupotomy and EA groups in the left knee-joint motion range,and serum MMP-3 and MMP-13 levels(P>0.05).Conclusion Acupotomy is effective in lowering serum MMP-3 and MMP-13 levels,and in improving OA rabbits' knee-joint motion range.

      摘要:Objective To observe the difference of signaling afferent mechanism of acupoints analgesic effect between manual acupuncture(MA) and electroacupuncture(EA) of "Zusanli"(ST 36) in order to analyze the initiating mechanism of these two commonly used clinic acupuncture methods.Methods A total of 64 SD rats were randomized into control,model,MA,EA,collagenase(type-Ⅰ)-pretreatment(CP)+MA,CP+EA,disodium cromoglicate-pretreatment(DSCP)+MA and DSCP+EA groups with 8 cases in each.Arthritis model was established by intra-joint injection of complete Freunds' agent.MA(rotation,20 min),and EA(21 min) were applied to bilateral "Zusanli"(ST 36) respectively in different groups.Pain threshold(PT,paw withdraw latency) was detected with 336 GT PAW/TAIL STIMULATOR and degranulated mast cells were counted under microscope separately.Results Compared with normal control group,PT values of model,MA,EA,CP+MA,CP+EA,DSCP+MA and DSCP+EA groups lowered significantly before treatment(P<0.05).Comparison of the same one group showed that after the treatment,PT values of MA and EA groups increased considerably(P<0.05).PT changing rates of CP+MA and DSCP+MA were significantly lower than that of MA group(P<0.05),suggesting disappearance of MA analgesia(not EA analgesia) after lesion of collagen protein by CP in ST36 area.In comparison with control group,the degranulation ratios(DGR) of mast cells in MA and EA groups increased significantly(P<0.05);while compared with MA and EA groups separately,DGR of the corresponding CP+MA and DSCP+MA,and CP+EA and DSCP+EA groups decreased markedly(P<0.05),displaying an inhibition of mast cell degranulation following CP and DSCP in ST36 area.Conclusion Both MA and EA can induce analgesia and concomitant increase of DGR of mast cells.The collagen fibers may contribute to MA initiated analgesic effect while the peripheral nerve receptors are probably involved in EA analgesia in rat.

      摘要:Objective To observe the effect of acupuncture at "open" or "close" time and in "host" or "guest" sequence on uterine contraction in late pregnancy rats so as to explore the regularities of acupoint application.Methods A total of 32 pregnant rats were divided into "open/host-guest"(OHG) group,"open/guest-host"(OGH) group,"close/host-guest"(CHG) group and pregnancy group,with 8 cases in each.Eight normal rats were made up of normal control group.According to Ling Gui Ba Fa(Eight Laws of Spirit Turtle),acupuncture was given to "Zhaohai"(KI 6),"Lieque"(LU 7),"Hegu"(LI 4) and "Sanyinjiao"(SP 6) first or later separately.For example,in OHG group,KI6(host point,being in opening time) was punctured first with the acupuncture needle manipulated for 5 min,then,LU7(guest point) punctured and stimulated for 5 min,LI4(corresponding point of KI6) for 20 min,and then,SP6(another corresponding point) was punctured and stimulated for 5 min in order.In CHG group,KI6(being in closing time) was needled for 5 min first,followed by puncturing LU7,LI4 and SP6 for 5 min,20 min,and 5 min separately in sequence.The uterine tension and uterine contraction frequency were measured by using a tension transducer.Results In comparison with normal control group,uterine smooth muscular tension and contraction frequency increased significantly in model group,and after acupuncture stimulation in OHG,OGH and CHG groups(P<0.01,P<0.05).Compared with model group,uterine tension of CHG group was significantly lower in the 8th time course after acupuncture(15-20 min after removing acupuncture needle,P<0.05).No significant differences were found among model,OHG and OGH groups,and among OHG,OGH and CHG groups in uterine tension and contraction frequency(P>0.05).Conclusion "Close-host-guest needling" can reduce uterine tension,which is likely to have significance in maintaining a stable environment of the uterus during pregnancy.

      摘要:Objective To observe the difference of the microcirculation blood perfusion volume between the Governor Vessel(GV) running course and its bilateral control points in healthy volunteers.Methods A total of 53 healthy volunteers were recruited in the present study.Cutaneous and muscular microvascular blood perfusion units(BPU) of Mingmen(GV 4),Jizhong(GV 6),Zhiyang(GV 9),Shenzhu(GV 12) and non-acupoint(at the 12th thoracic vertebra level) of GV and their bilateral non-meridian points(1 cm lateral to the above mentioned GV-acupoints and non-acupoint on both sides) were measured by using a Laser Doppler Flowmetry(PeriFlux 5000).Results 1) In comparison with bilateral control points,the cutaneous microvascular BPU values of Mingmen(GV 4),Jizhong(GV 6),Zhiyang(GV 9),Shenzhu(GV 12) and non-acupoint of GV Meridian were significantly higher(P<0.01).2) Compared with bilateral control points,BPU values of GV4,GV6,GV9,GV12 and non-acupoint of GV Meridian 1 cm,1.5 cm and 2 cm beneath the skin were significantly higher(P<0.05).No significant differences were found between the bilateral corresponding control points of GV4,GV6,GV9,GV12 and non-acupoint of GV in cutaneous BPU values,and between bilateral control points and GV4 in BPU values of deep(2.5 cm beneath the skin) tissues(P>0.05).Conclusion Blood flow perfusion volumes in the skin and deeper tissues along GV are significantly higher than those of their bilateral corresponding control points,indicating that cutaneous microvascular blood flow and shallower muscular blood flow may be the heat source for forming infrared radiation trace along meridian(IRRTM) in our past studies.

      摘要:Objective To probe into the relationship between receptors on the body surface of Cryprinus carpiods and meridians and acupoints of Chinese medicine.Methods Six Cryprinus carpiods [body length:(4.0±0.4) cm] purchased from the market were put into a glass container filling with 30 μmol/L DiA [4-(4-Diethylaminostyryl)-N-Methylpyridinium Iodide] water solution for 2 hours and then anaesthetized(with 2% aether) for observation under fluorescent microscope.Another 6 Cryprinus carpiods [body length:(8.1±0.6) cm] were put into a pool with 30 μmol/L DiA water solution for 7 days and then anaesthetized for microscopic observation.Results 1) The DiA-labeled spots appeared on Cryprinus body surface regularly distributing in discontinuous lines,some of them gathered together to form clusters.The labeled spots around the eyes distributed in radial style and in linear arrangement along the margin of the gill cover.On the body trunk,the labeled clusters distributed in linear arrangement along the longitudinal axis of the body and formed 14 lines approximately.2) In Cryprinus carpiods fed in water with DiA for 7 days,the labeled receptors clearly showed some neuronfibrae.Conclusion The areatus distribution and linear arrangement of receptors on the body surface in Cryprinus carpiods are similar to those of acupoints and meridians described in the human body in Chinese medicine.

      摘要:On the basis of "ATP-Ⅰ Type Acupuncture Manipulation Parameter Analyzer",we have developed a new acupuncture parameter analysis software named "Acupuncture Manipulation Information Analysis System" by applying new arithmetic,enriching practicable parameters of acupuncture manipulation,and improving the methods for comparing and evaluating acupuncture manipulation.The present analysis system can satisfy the need of acupuncture manipulation teaching standardization.

      摘要:Objective To observe the curative effect of long-time retention of scalp needle in the treatment of vascular dementia(VD) patients,and its influence on P300.Methods Sixty-five cases of VD patients were randomly divided into acupuncture group(n=33) and medication group(n=32).For patients of acupuncture group,Duxil tablets were taken orally,scalp-points Dingzhongxian(MS 5),Ezhongxian(MS 1) and bilateral Dingpangxian I(MS 8) were punctured separately with the filiform needles retained for 10 h,once daily for 8 weeks.Patients of medication group were asked to take Duxil tablets orally,one tablet/time,twice daily for 8 weeks.Mini-mental state examination(MMSE),Hastgawa dementia scale(HDS) were used to evaluate the patients' abilities of orientation,calculation,immediate and remote memory and speech.Activity of Daily Living(ADL) Scale was used to evaluate their daily life ability.The latency and amplitude of event-related potential P300 of electroencephalograph(EEG) were analyzed before and after the treatment.Results After the treatment,of the 33 and 32 cases in acupuncture and medication groups,the controlled,markedly effective,effective and ineffective cases were 2 and 1,9 and 4,18 and 16,4 and 11,respectively;with the total effective rates being 87.88% and 68.75% separately.The total effective rate of acupuncture group was obviously higher than that of medication group.Self-comparison showed that MMSE and HDS scores of both acupuncture and medication groups increased significantly in comparison with their individual pre-treatment values(P<0.05,P<0.01),while ADL of both groups decreased significantly(P<0.05,P<0.01).Before treatment,compared with normal people,the latencies of P300 in two groups increased significantly(P<0.01),while the amplitudes of two groups decreased significantly(P<0.01).After the treatment,the situations of two groups were corrected apparently(P<0.05).The effects of acupuncture group were significantly superior to those of medication group in MMSE,HDS and ADL scores and the latency of P300(P<0.05).Conclusion Long-term retention of scalp acupuncture needles can improve VD patients' intelligence,ADL ability and EEG.

      摘要:Objective To confirm the better analgesic effect of subcutaneous penetration needling of otopoints for treatment of scapulohumeral periarthritis(SHPA) patients.Methods Sixty-six SHPA patients were randomized into penetration-needling group(n=33) and straight needling group(n=33) by using pairing principle according to the sex and state of disease.Penetration needling was adopted for patients of penetration-needling group,while straight needling was used for those of straight needling group.Simplified McGill Scale was used to evaluate the patients' pain reactions.The pain integral scores were analyzed by using sequential test and pairing t test.Results Sequential test showed that the analgesic effect of penetration needling was significantly superior to that of straight needling 30 min after the treatment(P<0.05).Pairing t test results displayed that penetration needling had a marked analgesic effect 5 min and 30 min after the treatment compared with straight needling(P<0.05).Conclusion The rapid analgesic effect of penetration needling is superior to that of straight needling in the treatment of scapulohumeral periarthritis.

      摘要:Analysis on the different styles of expression of acupoint selection and application for "Jue Toutong"(severe headache) and "Jue Xintong"(cardiodynia with cold limbs) and the development of expression styles of acupoint selection and treatment of "Xintong"(cardiodynia) and "Jue Xintong" shows that the selected meridians for treatment of the related disorders commonly-seen in the ancient acu-moxibustion literature are,in fact,referred to the acupoints on the distal part of the four limbs in a certain neurosegment.The closer to the distal part of the four limbs,the higher is the identity of the acupoints in indications.The limit of the distal part is basically located at the wrist and ankle joints.If this identity of acupoint indications is referred to categories of diseases or syndromes,the range of acupoints on the four limbs may be extended to proximal part of the elbow and knee joints,and the representative acupoints are Five Shu-Points(Well-point,Spring-point,Stream-point,River-point and Sea-point).

    • Introduction to Mr CHENG Dan-an and His Works

      摘要:Mr CHENG Dan-an is a famous educationist and acupuncturist in modern China.He established the earliest acupuncture correspondence institution named Chinese Research Society of Acu-moxibustion.Meanwhile he founded the earliest professional magazine,Journal of Acu-moxibustion which played an important role in promoting redevelopment of acu-moxibustion.Mr CHENG Dan-an wrote many famous works.Research on CHENG's academic thoughts and works will help a lot in knowing the development and evolution of modern acupuncturology in the period of the Republic of China.The present paper introduces it by the help of 7 books including Zhenjiu Zhiliao Xue(Chinese Acu-moxibustion Therapeutics).

      摘要:The present paper reviews recent progress about the application of rat's praxiology evaluation in studies on the mechanism of acupuncture in the treatment of some diseases from 1) motor functional impairment evaluation;2) cognition impairment evaluation;3) animal mood score,and 4) pain behavior evaluation.By using different praxiology evaluation methods,the acupuncture curative effect has been confirmed repeatedly in different pathological models.The animal experimental study plays an important role in understanding the mechanisms of acupuncture in the treatment of some common diseases in clinic.However,due to the multiplicity of diseases,and specificity of various phases of a disease,extensive and specific behavior evaluation methods are relatively fewer,some current method terms are still obscure and manual of operations is deficient.Therefore,further improvement of the current behavior evaluation methods and developing more methods with stronger and specific functions aiming at different experiments(disease models) are definitely necessary.

      摘要:The author of the present paper founded a theorem about the "incompleteness of single channel structure"(nerve,blood vessel,lymphatic,interspace,aperture,etc.) through quantitative and qualitative analysis about the economic information channel in the human body,which eliminates the probability of single channel structure in the information channel of channel(meridian)-collateral system.After comprehensive analysis on the current researches,the author puts forward a neodoxy,i.e.,the body "information channel" structure of the channel-collateral system,mainly follows the distribution regularity of systemic statistics,and is not a single specific entity;various layers of the information channel in the main stems of the channel-collaterals are composed of optimized structure tissues.Hence,the structure of this information channel of channel-collateral system is an overall-optimized,sequential and compatible systemic structure.From this neodoxy,the author brings forward a working principle of channel-collaterals,which is supported theoretically by bio-auxology.The longitudinal distribution of the main stems of meridian-collaterals is considered to result from that in the process of the animal evolution,in the animals moving forward,the microscopic complicated movement of intracorporeal information and energy molecules is related to the forward macroscopic and non-uniform movement of organism in trans-measure.Its impulse and kinetic momentum forms a main vector in the longitudinal direction of the body(the direction of the main stem of channel-collaterals).In order to adapt to and utilize natural regularities,the main stems of the channel-collaterals gradually differentiate and evolve in the living organism,forming a whole system.The "hypothesis of biological origin of channel-collateral system" and "that of information channel of the channel-collaterals in the body" constitute a relatively complete theoretical system framework.
