      摘要:Objective To observe the effect of electroacupuncture(EA) and moxibustion-like thermal stimulation with different temperatures at "Zusanli"(ST 36) on pain reactions in transient receptor potential vanilloid type 1 knock-out(TRPV 1-/-) mice so as to study its mechanisms underlying analgesia.Methods Ten C 57 BL/6 mice and 10 TRPV 1-/-mice were respectively divided into control and TRPV 1-/-groups.EA(0.3 mA,1.0 mA,3.0 mA) or thermal water-bath(38 ℃,43 ℃,46 ℃) stimulation was applied to the right ST 36 for 20 min and 10 min,respectively.Mechanical and thermal pain thresholds of the bila-teral paws were detected before and immediately after stimulation,and 5 min after EA stimulation at 0.3 mA,3.0 mA and thermal water-bath stimulation at 38 ℃,46 ℃,separately.Results ① The thermal threshold was significantly higher in TRPV 1-/-mice than in C 57 BL/6 mice(P<0.001).② In C 57 BL/6 mice,both homolateral and contralateral mechanical and thermal pain thresholds were significantly increased following 1.0 mA,3.0 mA EA,and 43 ℃ and 46 ℃ thermal stimulation of the right Zusanli(ST 36)(P<0.05,P<0.01,P<0.001);while only homolateral mechanical and thermal pain thresholds were increased after 0.3 mA EA and 38 ℃ thermal stimulation of ST 36(P<0.05,P<0.01).In TRPV 1-/-mice group,both homolate-ral and contralateral mechanical and thermal pain thresholds were significantly increased by 3.0 mA EA stimulation of ST 36(P<0.05,P<0.01).Bilateral mechanical thresholds and homolateral thermal threshold were significantly increased by 1.0 mA EA stimulation of ST 36(P<0.05,P<0.01),while only homolateral mechanical and thermal pain thresholds were increased by 0.3 mA EA,and 43 ℃ and 46 ℃ thermal stimulation(P<0.05,P<0.01).Additionally,only the homolateral mechanical threshold was increased by 38 ℃ thermal stimulation(P<0.05).③ The mechanical and thermal pain thresholds of the bilateral limbs were increased to some extent in TRPV 1-/-mice compared with those of C 57 BL/6 mice following EA and thermal stimulation of the right ST 36.④ Five minutes after 0.3 mA,3.0 mA EA and 38 ℃,46 ℃ thermal water-bath stimulation,both mechanical and thermal pain thresholds recovered to their baseline levels in both TRPV 1-/-and C 57 BL/6 mice.Conclusion Both EA and thermal stimulation of the right ST 36 can raise mechanical and thermal pain thresholds in TRPV 1-/-and C 57 BL/6 mice,but needing a stronger stimulation in TRPV 1-/-mice,suggesting an involvement of TRPV 1 receptors in analgesia.

      摘要:Objective To observe the protective effect of serum derived from rats undergone auricular electroacupuncture(EA) stimulation on the incubated cerebral microvascular endotheliocytes with diabetic injury so as to investigate the underl-ying mechanism of cholinergic anti-inflammatory action.Methods SD rats were randomized into normal group(n=10),diabe-tic model group(n=6),auricular EA group(n=8),vagotomy+EA group(n=7,received ipsilateral vagotomy before auricular EA stimulation),atropine+EA group(n=8),hexamethonium+EA group(n=7) and α-bungarotoxin+EA group(n=7).Diabetic mellitus model was established by feeding the rats with high sugar,high fat forage and intraperitoneal injection of 1% streptozotocin injection(STZ,35 mg/kg).EA was applied to ipsilateral "Yi-Dan"-point and "Er-Shenmen" for 30 min,once daily for 10 days.Atropine(0.1 mg/kg,an anticholinergic drug),hexamethonium(10 mg/kg,an antagonist of the nicotinic acetylcholine receptors located in sympathetic and parasympathetic ganglia) and α-bungarotoxin(1.0 μg/kg,a type of α-neurotoxin that is known to bind irreversibly and competitively to the nicotinic acetylcholine receptors) were given to the rats by tail venous injection,respectively,before ipsilateral auricular EA intervention,once daily for 10 days.Blood samples from rats of each group were then collected.Normally cultured rat brain microvascular endotheliocytes were randomly divided into the same 7 groups.The diabetic-like damage model of cerebral microvascular endotheliocytes was established in the 6 groups except the normal group by adding the fluid containing glucose(20 mmol/L),insulin(100 mU/L) and oxidized low density lipoprotein(200 mg/L) to the culture medium.After 48 hours' incubation,the conditional culture solutions were collected for filtration and degerming.Morphological changes and cellular ultra-microstructure were examined using light microscope and transmission electron microscope,respectively.Tumor necrosis factor-alpha(TNF-α) mRNA expression of the cultured microvascular endotheliocytes was assayed using RT-PCR,and the soluble cell adhesion factor-1(sICAM-1) and soluble vascular intercellular adhesion molecule-1(sVCAM-1) concentrations in 1 mL culture fluid were measured using ELISA.Results Compared to the normal control group,the cultured cerebral microvascular endotheliocytes in the model group displayed a cluster-like or floating state,enlargement of the space,and increase of refractivity under light microscope,and showed swelling of the mitochondria with broken cristae and expansion of the space and even with membrane fusion or disappearance under electron microscope.This situation was relatively lighter in both auricular EA and atropine groups,and severe in the vagotomy,hexamethonium and α-bungarotoxin groups.TNF-α mRNA expression and sICAM-1 and sVCAM-1 concentrations were significantly higher in the model group than in the normal group,but significantly lower in both auricular EA group and atropine group than in the model group(P<0.01,P<0.05).No remarkable diffe-rences were found among the model,vagotomy,hexamethonium and α-bungarotoxin groups in the levels of TNF-α mRNA expression and sICAM-1 and sVCAM-1 concentrations(P>0.05).Conclusion Auricular EA intervention rat serum can lighten diabe-tic cellular injury,suppress TNF-α mRNA expression and reduce sICAM-1 and sVCAM-1 concentrations of rat cerebral microvascular endotheliocytes,which is closely associated with the intact vagus nerve and normal nicotinic acetylcholine receptors in rats.

      摘要:Objective To observe the inhibitory effect of auricular concha transcutaneous electrostimulation(ACTES) of different frequencies and duration on acute seizures in epilepsy rats so as to select a better stimulating parameter for relieving epilepsy.Methods According to the stimulation duration of ACTES,44 Sprague-Dawley rats were randomized into:30 s,5 min,10 min,and 30 min groups.Epilepsy model was duplicated by intraperitoneal injection of PTZ(pentylenetetrazol,50 mg/kg).Cerebral field potentials delivered from the fixed 4 recording electrodes array(A-P:-3-6,L: 4-6,H: 1.5) and re-ference electrode(a fixed screw) touching the cerebral dura surface were recorded using a data acquisition system(CerebusTM 5.0 system).Transcutaneous electrostimulation(1 mA,duration 500 μs) of frequency 2 Hz,20 Hz and 100 Hz was applied to auricular concha by using an electric stimulator.The anti-epileptic effects of ACTES were evaluated by using the duration and rate of seizure suppression.Results(1)The anti-epileptic effect of 20 Hz-ACTES was markedly longer than those of 2 Hz and 100 Hz in the duration of seizure suppression(P<0.05).(2) After 2 Hz-ACTES,the anti-epileptic effects(duration and inhibitory rate) in 30 s-stimulation group were markedly longer than those of the 5 min-,10 min-and 30 min-stimulation groups(P<0.01,P<0.05).(3) After 100 Hz-ACTES,the anti-epileptic effects(duration and rate of seizure suppression) in the 30 min-stimulation group were markedly longer than those in the 30 s-,5 min-and 10 min-stimulation group(P<0.01,P<0.05).Conclusion ACTES at 20 Hz can effectively lessen epileptic seizures,and under fixed stimulating frequencies of 2 Hz and 100 Hz,the anti-epileptic effects of 30 s ACTES and 30 min-ACTES are obviously better in epilepsy rats.

      摘要:Objective To observe the changes of thoracic duct lymph volume and the contents of histamine(HA),5-hydroxytryptamine(5-HT),etc.in the lymph after acupuncture or thermal acupuncture interventions,in order to investigate the effect of lymphatic system in transmitting acupuncture and moxibustion signals.Methods A total of 45 male Wistar rats were randomly divided into control group,acupuncture group,and thermal acupuncture(acupuncture with the needle warmed by burning moxa) group(n=15/ group).The rat thoracic duct lymphatic fistula model was replicated.Acupuncture or thermal acupuncture was applied to "Zusanli"(ST 36),and the changes of thoracic duct lymph volume and the concentrations of HA,5-HT in the lymph were observed.Results Compared with the control group,the thoracic duct lymph volume in acupuncture group and thermal acupuncture group were obviously increased(P<0.05),while the concentrations of lymph HA and 5-HT in both acupuncture and thermal acupuncture groups had no significant changes(P>0.05).Conclusion Both acupuncture and thermal acupuncture interventions can increase the thoracic duct lymph volume,but have no effects on lymph HA and 5-HT contents in normal rats.

      摘要:Objective To observe the effect of electroacupuncture(EA) stimulation of differently combined acupoints of "Zhongwan"(CV 12),"Tianshu"(ST 25) and "Shangjuxu"(ST 37,for treatment of enteral disorders) on acetic acid-induced intestinal mucosal lesion in rats so as to select the best combinations of acupoints.Methods A total of 126 SD rats were divided into nine groups: normal control(normal),model,CV 12,ST 25,ST 37,CV 12+ST 37,ST 25+ ST 37,CV 12 +ST 25 and CV 12 +ST 25 +ST 37.Intestinal mucosal lesion model was established by using enema(8% acetic acid 1 mL).EA was applied to the above-mentioned acupoints for 15 min,once daily for 3 days.General conditions,colonic mucosal damage index(CMDI) and pathological damage integral(PDI) were detected respectively.The colonic mucosal membrane tissue was stained with H.E.stain for observing its morphological changes under light microscope,and the ultrastructural changes were observed using electron transmission microscope.Results Compared with the control group,CMDI was decreased significantly(P<0.05) and PDI of the colonic mucosal membrane increased significantly in the model group(P<0.05).Compared with the model group,CMDI was decreased markedly and PDI increased significantly(P<0.05) in the CV 12,ST 25,ST 37,CV 12+ST 37,ST 25+ST 37,CV 12+ST 25 and CV 12+ST 25+ST 37 groups(P<0.05).Comparison among the 7 EA treatment groups showed that both CMDI and PDI of the CV 12+ST 25+ST 37 group were significantly superior to those of CV 12,ST 25,ST 37,CV 12+ST 37,ST 25+ST 37 and CV 12+ST 25 groups(P<0.05).Under light microscope,the colonic mucosal injury was remarkable,while those of the 7 EA treatment groups were relatively milder.Ultramicrostructural findings showed that the colonic mucosal lesion including shortening or sparseness of the intestinal epithelial villi,swelling of mitochondria with arrangement disorder,breaking or fusion of the cristae,and enlargement of the rough endocytoplasmic reticulum was found in the model group,while the situations were lighter in the 7 EA groups particularly in the CV 12+ST 25+ST 37 group.Conclusion EA of CV 12,ST 25 and ST 37 acupoint alone or combination can relieve acetic acid-induced intestinal mucosal lesion in rats,and the effect of joint application of these 3 acupoints is obviously better,suggesting their clinical applicability in clinical treatment of intestinal di-sorders as a basic formula.

      摘要:Objective To observe the effect of electroacupuncture(EA) stimulation combined with moxibustion(MOX) on changes of the kidney and ureter tissue,plasma and uterine Ca2+,creatinine(Cr) and urea nitrogen(UN) concentrations in rats with renal calcium oxalate stone,so as to reveal its mechanism underlying relieving kidney stone.Methods A total of 60 Wistar rats were randomized into control group,model group,EA plus MOX of "Pangguangshu"(BL 28),"Sanyinjiao"(SP 6) and "Zhishi"(BL 52)(routine EA-MOX group),EA-intensive(INT) MOX of "Shenshu"(BL 23,EA-INT-MOX-BL 23 group) and EA-INT-MOX-Ashi group(12 rats/group).Renal calcium oxalate stone model was established by feeding the animal with 1% ethylene alcohol and 1% ammonium chloride for 7 days.EA was applied to BL 28,SP 6,BL 52,BL 23,and Ashi-point for 15 min,respectively.For rats of the EA-INT-MOX-BL 23 group,EA intervention was applied to the superficial,medium and deep layers of BL 23 for 5 min,respectively,and INT MOX was given for 11-13 min.Plasma and uterine Ca2+conctents were detected by absorption spectrometry,plasma and urine Cr contents determined by sarcosine oxidase method.Blood UN(BUN) level was determined by enzyme coupling rate method and uric acid(UA) detected by photoelectric colorimetry method.Results Compared with the control group,inflammatory cell infiltration,congestion,space enlargement in the glomcrulus and renal interstitium,and unsmooth of the ureter wall with exfoliated necrosis tissue in the ureter were seen in the model group.These situations were relatively milder in the routine EA-MOX,EA-INT-MOX-BL 23 and EA-INT-MOX-Ashi groups.In comparison with the control group,plasma and uterine Ca2+ Cr,BUN,and UA levels were increased significantly in the model group(P<0.01).While compared to the model group,plasma and uterine Ca2+ Cr,BUN,and UA levels were down-regulated considerably(P<0.05,P<0.01) in the three treatment groups,and the effects of both EA-INT-MOX-BL 23 and EA-INT-MOX-Ashi groups were significantly superior to those of the routine EA-MOX group(P<0.05,P<0.01).Conclusion EA plus intensive moxibustion can effectively lower plasma and uterine Ca2+,Cr,BUN and UA levels,and improve pathological changes of the kidney in kidney stone rats,which may contribute to its effect in bettering renal function.The effect of EA plus intensive moxibustion is markedly better than that of routine EA plus moxibustion in lowering plasma and urine biochemical indexes.

      摘要:Objective To observe the effects of acupuncture of "Baihui"(GV 20) and "Zusanli"(ST 36) on the expression of interleukin(IL)-1β and tumor necrosis factor(TNF)-α proteins in the bilateral cerebral tissue in cerebral ischemia reperfusion injury(CI/RI) rats,so as to explore its mechanism underlying improving CI.Methods Seventy-eight SD rats were randomized into sham-operation(control) group(n=6),model group(n=36) and acupuncture group(n=36),and the latter two groups were further divided into 12,24,48,72,96 and 144 h subgroups(n=6 in each subgroup) according to the reperfusion time.Acupuncture stimulation was applied to GV 20 and left ST 36 for 20 min at the required time-points after successful operation,once a day.The expression of IL-1β and TNF-α in bilateral brain tissue was examined by immunohistochemistry.Results Immunohistochemical staining showed that the expression of cerebral IL-1β protein in cerebral ischemia regions exhibited a double-peak,and the peak time in the model group was at 48 h and 96 h,while the expression of TNF-α protein in cerebral ischemia regions exhibited a single-peak,and the peak time in both model and acupuncture groups was at 72 h.In comparison with the normal group and sham group,cerebral IL-1β and TNF-α protein expression levels of both ischemic and non-ischemic regions were increased significantly in the model group(P<0.05).Compared to the model group,the expression levels of cerebral IL-1β and TNF-α of both ischemic and non-ischemic regions in the acupuncture group at most of the time-points after CI/RI were decreased obviously(P<0.05).Conclusion Acupuncture can effectively suppress the expression of IL-1β and TNF-α proteins in bilate-ral ischemic and non-ischemic cerebral regions in CI/RI rats,suggesting an anti-inflammatory effect of acupuncture intervention.

      摘要:Objective To study the protective effects of electroacupuncture(EA) on the cortical microvasculature in rats with focal cerebral ischemia/reperfusion injury(CI/RI).Methods Eighty SD rats were randomly divided into:normal group(n=8),sham-operation(sham) group(n=8),model group(n=32) and EA group(n=32).The CI/RI model was established by occlusion of the middle cerebral artery for 30 min and reperfusion for 1 day(d),2 d,4 d and 8 d respectively.EA was applied to "Baihui"(GV 20),"Shuigou"(GV 26) and bilateral "Zusanli"(ST 36) areas for 30 min,once daily for 1 d,2 d,4 d and 8 d.The right cortical microvascular ultrastructure was examined with transmission electron microscopy and cerebral vascular endothelial growth factor(VEGF) mRNA expression was detected by quantitative real-time PCR.Results The microvascular ultrastructure of the right cerebral cortex was severely injured in rats of the model group whereas greatly improved in rats of EA group.VEGF mRNA expression of the right cerebral cortex was increased significantly in the model group(P<0.05,P<0.01) and further upregulated in the EA group(P<0.01).Conclusion EA intervention can alleviate the injury of microvascular ultrastructure of focal ischemic cerebral tissue and upregulate cerebral VEGF mRNA expression,suggesting a role of EA in protecting the ischemic brain tissues by facilitating the angiogenesis of capillary vessels and the function reconstruction of the damaged microvasculature.

      摘要:Objective To observe the blood perfusion levels in different facial acupoint regions and changes after acupuncture stimulation of Hegu(LI 4).Methods Thirty healthy volunteer subjects were equally divided into control group and acupuncture group.Blood perfusion levels of different facial acupoint areas were detected using a Laser Doppler Imager.Acupuncture stimulation was applied to bilateral Hegu(LI 4) by using two filiform needles which were manipulated for a while till "Deqi",followed by keeping them in position for 30 min.The needles were then manipulated once again every 10 min.Results The blood perfusion levels of facial acupoint regions were from 0.73 to 1.17 PU in healthy volunteers,with relatively higher levels being in Juliao(ST 3),Kouheliao(LI 19),Sibai(ST 2) and Chengqi(ST 1) regions and relatively lower levels in Xiaguan(ST 7),Qianzheng(Ex-HN) and Sizhukong(TE 23) regions,but without significant difference between the isonym acupoint areas of the bilateral face in the control group.Following acupuncture stimulation of bilateral Hegu(LI 4),the blood perfusion volumes were remarkably increased in the acupoint regions on bilateral sides of the face(P<0.05,P<0.01).Conclusion Acupuncture of Hegu(LI 4) can effectively increase blood perfusion volume of the acupoint areas of the bilateral face in healthy volunteers.

      摘要:Objective To observe the effect of acupuncture stimulation of scalp-and body-acupoints on limb function in subacute stroke patients.Methods A total of 110 stroke inpatients were randomly and equally divided into acupuncture group and control group.Patients of the acupuncture group were treated by acupuncture stimulation of scalp acupoint Dingnie Qianxiexian(MS 6) and body acupoints Neiguan(PC 6),Jianyu(LI 15),Sanyinjiao(SP 6),etc.once daily for 20 days and routine neurological therapies,including drugs for controlling blood pressure,blood sugar,water-electrolyte balance,anticoagulation,encep-haledema reduction,intracranial pressure reduction,anti-inflammation,neurofunction protection,etc.The stroke patients of the control group were treated with the routine neurological therapies only.The Fugl-Meyer assessment(FMA),US National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale(NIHSS) were used to assess the patients' limb function and nerve functional lesion severity before and after the treatment,and the ratio of mortality/disability and recurrence rate were used to assess the efficacy of acupuncture at the end of 3 and 6 months' follow-up.Results After the treatment,the FMA scores were increased significantly and NIHSS scores decreased considerably in both groups(P<0.01),and the effects of acupuncture group were obviously superior to those of the control group(P<0.05).There were no significant differences between two groups in the ratios of mortality/disability and recurrence rates at the end of 3 and 6 months' follow-up(P>0.05).Conclusion Scalp acupuncture combined with body acupuncture can evidently improve limb movement function and reduce the nerve function damage in stroke patients.

      摘要:Objective To observe the clinical effect of acupuncture intervention on abdominal obesity by stimulation of"Belt Vessel(Daimai) Regulation Acupoint Recipe".Methods A total of 35 abdominal obesity outpatients were recuited in the present study.The "Belt Vessel(Daimai) Regulation Acupoint Recipe" was composed of Daimai(GB 26),Tianshu(ST 25),Daheng(SP 15),Zhongwan(CV 12),Liangmen(ST 21),Shuidao(ST 28),Zusanli(ST 36),Shangjuxu(ST 37),Fenglong(ST 40) and Zulinqi(GB 41,both sides except CV 12).In addition,electroacupuncture was also applied to bilateral GB 26 and ST 25.The treatment was conducted once every other day,8 weeks altogether.The body weight,body mass index(BMI),waist circumference(WC),hip circumference(HC),Waist-to-hip ratio(WHR),waist-to-height ratio(WHtR) and body fat rate[=1.2×BMI+0.23×age-5.4-10.8×sex(male=1,female=0)]were measured or calculated.The thickness of abdominal adipose layer(i.e.:S 1=distance from the interface of the skin and subcutaneous fat to the linea alba abdominis at the midpoint between the xiphoid-process and the umbilicus;S 2=distance from the interface of the skin and subcutaneous fat to the anterior bounder of the external oblique muscle of abdomen on the right side closely to the umbilicus center) and visceral fat layer thickness(V 1=distance from the midpoint of the linea alba abdominis to the anterior bounder of the vertebra body;V 2=distance from the peritoneum to the right bounder of the vertebra body at the umbilicus level) were measured for calculating ultrasound viscerofatty indexby using a color Doppler ultrasonography.Results After 8 weeks' treatment,the body weight,BMI,waist and hips circumferences,WHtR and percentage of body fat were declined significantly(P<0.05,P<0.001).The WHR was decreased compared to that of pre-treatment,but without statistical significance(P>0.05).The thickness of abdominal subcutaneous adipose and visceral adipose layers and UVI were decreased significantly following the treatment(P<0.05,P<0.001).The reduction of visceral adipose layer was superior to that of the abdominal subcutaneous one(P<0.001).Conclusion Acupuncture intervention has a significant effect on reducing abdominal obesity in abdominal obesity patients.

    • Effect of Acupuncture Therapy on Appetite of Obesity Patients

      摘要:Objective To observe the effect of acupuncture intervention on the appetite of obesity patients.Methods A total of 118 obesity patients were randomized into acupuncture group(76 cases,treated by true acupuncture needles) and placebo group(42 cases,treated by placebo acupuncture needles) using single-blind method.All the patients of the two groups were ordered to control their diet during the treatment.The acupoints around the umbilicus [Zhongwan(CV 12),Zhongji(CV 3),Daheng(SP 15),Xiawan(CV 10),Shimen(CV 5) and Tianshu(ST 25),etc.]and Liangqiu(ST 34),Zusanli(ST 36),and Yinlingquan(SP 9) were punctured with filiform needles which were manipulated with uniform reducing and reinforcing method for a while till"Deqi" and retained for 30 min.The treatment was conducted once every other day,12 times altogether.Body mass index(BMI),and visual analogue scale(VAS) scores of eating-desire and hunger feeling and prospective food consumption were measured before and after the treatment.The gastric fluid survival rate(GFSR) was evaluated by using ultrasound scanning.Results The BMI in the acupuncture group was obviously declined after the treatment in comparison with the placebo group(P<0.01).Compared to the placebo group,the VAS scores of eating-desire,hunger feeling and prospective food consumption were significantly decreased in the acupuncture group(P<0.05),but there are no significant difference between two groups in the VAS score of gastric fullness feeling(P>0.05).The GFSR was obviously increased in the acupuncture group compared to the placebo group(P<0.05).Conclusion Acupuncture therapy can significantly decrease BMI and delay the digesting time and control the appetite in obesity patients,which may contribute to its effect in body weight reduction.

      摘要:Objective To observe the effect of clinical acupuncture practice on practitioner's finger fine touch,so as to analyze the perceptive procedure of the arrival of qi and to explore its key factors.Methods Fifteen healthy acupuncturists and 15 healthy non-acupuncturists volunteers were recruited in the present study.All the participants were ordered to take a sitting position in a quiet room and to have their eyes covered with two eyeshades first.Then,they were asked to receive two general sensory-perceptual acuity tests:the von Frey hair tests for measuring their cutaneous sensation threshold and two-point discrimination tests of the thumb,index and middle fingers of both hands.Results In acupuncturists,the average cutaneous sensation thres-holds of the thumb and index finger of the handedness and the average two-point discrimination thresholds of the thumb,index finger and the middle finger of the handedness were lower than those of the handedness in non-acupuncturists in spite of no significant differences(P>0.05).In addition,in acupuncturists,the average cutaneous sensation thresholds of the thumb and index finger and the average two-point discrimination thresholds of the thumb,index finger and the middle finger of the handedness were also slightly lower than those of their non-handedness.While in the non-acupuncturists,both the average cutaneous sensation thres-holds and the average two-point discrimination thresholds of the thumb,index finger and the middle finger of the handedness and non-handedness were comparable.Conclusion The acupuncturists' finger fine touch of the handedness is relatively more sensitive than that of non-acupuncturists,suggesting an increase of the sensitivity of fingers in perceiving "Deqi" through long-term acupuncture clinical practice.

    • Progress of Researches on the Mechanism of Cupping Therapy

      摘要:Cupping therapy of Chinese medicine is able to relieve a variety of diseases or clinical conditions,which results from the comprehensive effects of multiple types of stimulation exerted onto the regional acupoint areas.Among the stimuli,the negative pressure from cupping is one of the main factors inducing therapeutic effects.In the present paper,the authors review development of researches on the underlying mechanism of therapeutic effects of cupping-negative pressure from 1) the factor of intra-cup negative pressure;2) influence of intra-cup negative pressure on cup-blackspot formation;3) influence of cupping on regional blood vessels and blood flow;4) effect of cupping on regional ultrastructure of the capillary in the raw-surface tissue;5) effect of cupping-negative pressure on regional endothelial cells;and 6) biological effects of negative pressure drainage.Generally,cupping induced negative pressure can dilate local blood vessels to improve microcirculation,promote capillary endothelial cells repair,accelerate granulation and angiogenesis,etc.,in the regional tissues,normalizing the patients' functional state at last.

      摘要:Based on the manuscripts delivered to Acupuncture Research,the author of the present paper analyzes some current shortcomings existing in scientific research work of acu-moxibustion.The main shortcomings are 1) insufficient experimental design,2)inopportune intervention time,3) indexes unable to explain the underlying mechanism of therapeutic effects,4) unfounded exaggeration of the roles of acu-moxibustion therapy,and 5) improper conclusion.In addition,the author gives some typical examples to show these shortcomings or insufficiencies,so as to provide references for researchers in avoiding some defects in experimental designs and in giving reasonable explanations about their research findings in the future.
