摘要:Objective To observe the effect of electroacupuncture(EA) intervention on behavior changes,expression of cerebral vascular endothelial growth factor(VEGF),nerve growth associated protein-43(GAP-43),synaptophysin(SYN),myelin basic protein(MBP),neurite outgrowth inhibitor-A(Nogo-A) in cerebral focal ischemia-reperfusion injury(CI/RI) rats,so as to study its mechanism underlying improvement of ischemic cerebral vascular disease.Methods Sixty male SD rats were randomly divided into sham-operation group,model group and electroacupuncture(EA) group.CI/RI model was established by occlusion of the middle cerebral artery(MCAO) and reperfusion.EA was applied to bilateral "Neiguan"(PC 6),"Sanyinjiao"(SP 6),"Shuigou"(GV 26) and "Baihui"(GV 20) for 30 min,once a day for 14 days.The neurologic deficits were evaluated by Longa 5-grade standard(the higher the score,the severer the neurologic deficit).The immunoactivity of cerebral VEGF,GAP-43,SYN,MBP(important in the process of myelination of nerves in the nervous system) and Nogo-A(inhibiting axonal regeneration) in the focal ischemic cerebral tissue was detected by immunohistochemistry.Results The Longa's score of the model group was significantly increased after MCAO in comparison with the sham-operation group(P<0.01).In comparison with the model group,Longa's score of the EA group was evidently lower on day 14 after CI/RI(P<0.05),suggesting an improvement of the neurological deficits after EA intervention.In comparison with the sham-operation group,the immunoactivity of cerebral VEGF,GAP-43 and Nogo-A was significantly upregulated on day 7 and 14 in the model group(P<0.01),while that of cerebral SYN was remarkably down-regulated in the model group on day 7 and 14 after CI/RI(P<0.05).Compared with the model group,cerebral VEGF,GAP-43,SYN and MBP expression levels were considerably upregulated on day 7 and 14 following CI/RI in the EA group(P<0.01,P<0.05),while that of cerebral Nogo-A was significantly decreased at the two time-points in the EA group(P<0.01).Conclusion EA intervention can effectively improve neurological function in cerebral infarction rats,which is closely related to its effects in upregulating cerebral VEGF,GAP-43,SYN and MBP expression,and down-regulating Nogo-A protein,suggesting a protective effect on neurovascular unit.

摘要:Objective To observe the effect of transcutaneous electrical acupoint stimulation(TEAS) of "Zusanli"(ST 36) on gastric mucosal injury in rats with exercise stress-induced gastric ulcer.Methods Twenty-four SD rats were randomly and equally divided into normal control,model and TEAS groups.Gastric ulcer model was established by forcing the rat to run on a treadmill(15 m/min) till exhaustion,once daily continuously for 15 days.TEAS was applied to bilateral "Zusanli"(ST 36) for 30 min,once daily for 15 days.Behavior changes(crossing and rearing scores) were assessed using open-field test.The ulcer index(UI) of the gastric mucosa was measured by giving the mottling bleeding,streak-like hemorrhage and lesion width with scores according to Guth's method.Contents of 6-keto-prostaglandin F1α(6-keto-PGF1α) and thromboxane B 2(TXB2) of gastric mucosal tissue were measured using radioimmunoassay.Results Compared with the normal group,the levels of crossing and rearing levels in open-field tests,and the duration of forced treadmill running exhaustion,gastromocosal 6-keto-PGF1α and TXB2 contents in the model group were obviously reduced(P<0.01),while the UI of model group was obviously increased(P<0.01).In comparison with the model group,the scores of crossing and rearing in open-field tests and the duration of forced treadmill running exhaustion and gastromocosal 6-keto-PGF1α and TXB2 contents of TEAS group were significantly increased(P<0.05),and the Ul of TEAS group was obviously decreased(P<0.05).Conclusion TEAS of "Zusanli"(ST 36) can protect gastric mucosa from injury in exercise stress-induced gastric ulcer rats.
摘要:Objective To observe the effect difference of electroacupuncture(EA) stimulation of Shenmen(HT 7) and Taiyuan(LU 9) on P 300 of event-related potentials(ERPs) in volunteer subjects,so as to explore functional specificity of acupoints in processing cerebral information.Methods Sixty healthy volunteer college students were randomly and equally divided into Shenmen(HT 7)group and Taiyuan(LU 9) group(30 persons/group).EA(2 Hz,1 mA) was applied to bilateral Shenmen(HT 7) and Taiyuan(LU 9) for 15 min.The ERPs were acquired by averaging EEG activity following Oddba Ⅱ auditory tone-double stimuli and brain electrical activity mapping(BEAM) acquired by means of Scan 4.5 collection and analysis system.Data were calculated and analyzed with SPSS 17.0 for Windows.After testing,the subjects were inquired about the perception for acupuncture stimulation and other sensations or psychological activities.Results Following EA stimulation of both HT 7 and LU 9,the amplitude of P 300 in the ERPs were significantly decreased in comparison with pre-EA stimulation in the same one group(P<0.01,P<0.05).No significant changes were found in the latencies of P 300 after EA stimulation of both HT 7 and LU 9(P>0.05).But,EA of HT 7 had a slightly stronger effect in shortening P 300 latency.With regard to the potential intensity distribution of BEAM,there were some differences between HT 7 and LU 9 groups.The high potential responses for HT 7 were found mainly in the occipital lobe,and in the left parietal lobe and the right temporal lobe,whereas those for LU 9 were found to mainly disperse in the left occipital lobe and the parietal lobe.Conclusion EA stimulation of HT 7 and LU 9 has a slight difference on lowering P 300 amplitude of ERPs,and may result in different distribution of the high potential responses in different lobes of the cerebral cortex in healthy subjects.The functional specificity of EA stimulation of different acupoints needs further study.
摘要:Objective To observe the effect of electroacupuncture(EA) at "Sanyin" acupoints(bilateral "Jiayin" and "Zhongyin") on the cellular immune function of rats with chronic abacterial prostatitis(CAP),so as to explore its mechanism underlying relieving CAP.Methods Forty male Wistar rats were randomly divided into four groups: control,model,medication(Cernilton) and EA(n=10 rats/group).The CAP model was made by injection of allogeneic prostatein purification liquid + Freund's complete adjuvant(1∶1) and diphtheria,pertussis,tetanus(DPT) vaccine(0.5 mL).EA was applied to bilateral "Jia-yin" acupoints(located at the bilateral groins at the horizontal level of the upper border of the pubic symphysis) and "Zhongyin" [the midpoint between the "Huiyin"(CV 1) and the scrotum root,punctured with filiform needle] for 20 min,once daily for two therapeutic courses(15 days/course,one day break between the two courses).Rats of the medication group were given with oral administration of Cernilton(13 mg/kg) once daily for 15 days.Following killing the rats under deep anesthesia,the prostate wet weight,and prostate index(prostate weight/body weight) were determined.Pathological changes of the prostate tissue were examined by light microscope after sectioning and haematoxylin(HE) staining.Plasma levels of CD4+ Th-and CD8+ T-lymphocytes were assayed with flow cytometry.Results Compared with the control group,the morphological structure of prostate tissues of rats in the model group was severely damaged(proliferation of the prostate epithelium and inflammatory cell infilitration),which was relatively milder in the EA group.The plasma CD4+ level and CD4+/CD8+ ratio were significantly lower in the model group than in the control group(P<0.01,P<0.05).Compared with the model group,plasma CD4+ levels were significantly increased in both medication and EA groups(P<0.05,P<0.01),and the CD4+ level of the EA group was considerably higher than that of the medication group(P<0.05).The ratio of CD4+/CD8+ in the EA group was remarkably higher than that in the model group(P<0.05).No significant differences were found among the four groups in the prostate weight,prostate index and plasma CD8+ levels(P>0.05).Conclusion EA stimulation of "Sanyin" points is beneficial to relieve chronic abacterial prostatitis,which may contribute to its effect in strengthening the cellular immune function via upregulation of plasma CD4+ and CD4+/CD8+ levels.
摘要:Objective To observe the influence of electroacupuncture(EA) therapy on the expression of tyrosine hydroxylase(TH) and cyclooxygenase-2(COX-2) proteins of Substantia Nigra cells(SNc) in the rotenone-induced Parkinson's disease(PD) rats,so as to explore the mechanism of EA underlying improvement of PD.Methods Forty rats were randomly divided into normal,sham-operation(sham),model and EA groups(n=10/group).The PD model was established by successive subcutaneous injection of rotenone(highly selective lesions of nigrostriatal dopaminergic neurons) for 28 days.EA(2 Hz,1 mA) was applied to bilateral "Fengfu"(GV 16) and "Taichong"(LR 3) for 20 min,once daily for 14 days.The expression levels of TH and COX-2 proteins in the Substantia Nigra of midbrain were detected with Western blotting.Results Compared with the normal group,the expression level of TH protein in the model group was significantly decreased(P<0.01),and that of COX-2 protein in the model group was significantly increased(P<0.01).After the EA treatment,the expression level of TH in the EA group was obviously upregulated(P<0.01),and that of COX-2 protein in the EA group was considerably down-regulated(P<0.01).No significant differences were found between the normal and sham groups in the expression levels of TH and COX-2 proteins(P>0.05).Conclusion EA therapy can decrease inflammation mediator COX-2 protein expression and upregulate TH protein expression in the Substantia Nigra of midbrain in PD rats,which may contribute to its effect in relieving PD in clinic.

摘要:Objective To observe the influence of music-electroacupuncture(EA) and pulse EA on locomotor activity and hippocampal neuron numbers and excitatory amino acid transporters(EAATs) mRNA expression in depression rats,so as to explore their mechanisms underlying improvement of depression in acupuncture clinic.Method Sixty SD rats were randomly divided into blank control,depression model,medication,pulse EA and music-EA groups,with 12 rats in each group.Depression model was established by using chronic unpredictable mild stress protocols combined with solitary feeding.Rats of the medication group were treated by oral administration of fluoxetine(a standard antidepressant,2 mg/kg).EA was applied to "Baihui"(GV 20) and "Yintang"(EX-HN 3) for 20 min,once a day for 21 days.The animals' ethological changes were detected by using field tests for recording the number of crossing squares and the number of rearing.The number of hippocampal neurons were calculated under microscope after Nissl's staining of the hippocampal tissue section.Hippocampal EAAT 1 and EAAT 2 mRNA expression levels were assayed by fluorescent quantitative real-time PCR.Results In comparison with the blank control group,the numbers of crossing and rearing movements,as well as the expression levels of hippocampal EAAT 1 and EAAT 2 mRNA were significantly lower in the model group(P<0.01),while compared with the model group,the numbers of both crossing and rearing movements of the medication,pulse EA and music-EA groups were obviously increased(P<0.01).Correspondingly,the expression levels of hippocampal EAAT 1 and EAAT 2 mRNA were considerably upregulated in the pulse EA and music-EA groups in comparison with the model group(P<0.01).No significant differences were found among the medication,pulse EA and music-EA groups(P>0.05).Results of Nissl's staining displayed that in the model group,the hippocampal neurons were loose in arrangement and some of them were absent,but in the medication,pulse EA and music-EA groups,the neurons were clear in shape and lined in order.Conclusion Both pulse EA and music-EA can effectively improve the locomotor activity and hippocampal neuronal structure in depression rats which may be closely associated with their effects in upregulating hippocampal EAAT 1 and EAAT 2 mRNA expression.
摘要:Objective To observe the effect of electroacupuncture(EA) stimulation of "Zusanli"(ST 36),etc.on se-rum sugar and insulin contents,serum and liver interleukin-18(IL-18) levels in nonalcoholic fatty liver disease(NAFLD) rats,so as to study its mechanism underlying improvement of NAFLD.Methods Forty-four SD rats were randomized into normal control,model,EA and non-acupoint groups,with 11 rats in each group.EA(2 Hz,1.5 V) was applied to bilateral "Zusanli"(ST 36),"Fenglong"(ST 40),"Sanyinjiao"(ST 6) and "Taichong"(LR 3) and non-acupoint(proximal 1/3 of the tail) for 15 min,once daily for 4 weeks.IL-18 contents of serum and liver tissue were assayed by using double antibody sandwich enzyme linked immunosorbent assay(ELISA),fasting blood sugar(FBS) content was measured by enzymatic colorimetric method,and fasting insulin(FINS) level assayed by radioimmunoassay.H.E.staining of the liver tissue sections was used to display pathological changes.Results Compared with the normal control group,serum FBS and FINS contents,serum and hepatic IL-18 levels and fasting insulin resistance index(FIRI) in the model group were significantly increased(P<0.01).While compared with the model group,the levels of serum FBS,FINS,FIRI and IL-18 as well as hepatic IL-18 content in the EA group were markedly decreased(P<0.05).The fatty degeneration in hepatic tissue was relieved.No significant changes of the five indexes mentioned above were found in the non-acupoint group(P>0.05).H.E.staining of the liver tissue showed that in the model group,the hypatocyte was clearly increased in the size,with different degrees of fatty degeneration or necrosis,and inflammatory cell infiltration.These changes were relatively milder in the EA group rather than in the non-acupoint group.Conclusion EA stimulation of "Zusanli"(ST 36),"Fenglong"(ST 40),etc.can suppress NAFLD induced upregulation of blood sugar,serum insulin,insulin resistance index and serum and hepatic IL-18 levels in fatty liver rats,which may contribute to its effect in relieving polysaccharide attack induced liver damage.
摘要:Objective To observe the effect of electroacupuncture(EA) stimulation of "Huantiao"(GB 30) on the wal-king ability and touch sensation in rabbits with lumbar intervertebral disc protrusion(LIDP).Methods Forty New Zealand rabbits were equally randomized into normal control,model,EA-GB 30 and EA-non-acupoint groups.The LIDP model was established by surgical operation under anesthesia.EA(30 Hz/100 Hz,2-4 V,0.5 ms in pulse duration) was applied to bilateral "Huantiao"(GB 30) or non-acupoint.The rabbits' walking ability was assessed according to a 4-points scoring standard: 0 point: complete paralysis;1 point: paralysis with muscular contraction and mild joint movement;2 points: weaker strength of the affected limbs with bradykinesia and instable walking;3 points: able to walk with only interphalangeal joint dyskinesia;4 points: complete recovery.The rabbit's touch sensation was assessed according to another 4-points scoring standard: 0 point: no any response to cotton swab stimulation;1 point: very mild response;2 points: sluggish response;3 points: relatively swifter response but weaker than the healthy limb;4 points: normal.The ultrostructure changes of the sciatic nerve were analyzed by transmission electron microscope.Results Following modeling,the scores for walking ability and touch sensation were significantly reduced in the model,EA-GB 30 and EA-non-acupoint groups(P<0.01).While compared with the model group,both walking ability score and touch sensation score of the EA-GB 30 group were obviously increased(P<0.01),rather than in the EA-non-acupoint group.Outcomes of the ultrastructure showed that in the model group,extensive onion-like state of the myelin sheath of the sciatic nerve fibers,shrink or disappearance of the axon,kytoplasm edema or lysis of Schwann cells tending to necrosis,and mitochondrium vacuolization of the Schwann cells were found.In the EA-GB 30 group,majority of the nerve fibers and vascular endothelium were normal,with delamination and vacuolization of partial myelin sheath,edema of partial mitochondria and vacuolization of Schwann cells were found.In the EA-non-acupoint group,delamination and twist of partial myelin sheath,Schwann cellular plasma edema and mitochondrial edema of the axon with vacuolization change were found,suggesting a poorer effect of EA of non-acupoint.Conclusion EA-GB 30 can improve LIDP rabbits' walking ability and touch sensation function and reduce ultrastructure of sciatic nerve.
摘要:Objective To observe the effect of nape cluster-acupuncture treatment on blood microcirculation of the ce-rebral piamater and the whole blood viscosity in cerebral ischemia(CI) rats so as to study its mechanism underlying improvement of CI.Methods Eighty male Wistar rats were randomly allocated to false operation group,CI model group,medication group and acupuncture group(n=20).CI model was established by occlusion of the middle cerebral artery with intraluminal suture-ball blocking method.For rats of the nape cluster-acupuncture group,acupuncture needles were inserted into "Fengfu"(GV 16),"Yamen"(GV 15),"Xia-naohu"(GV 17),"Fengchi"(GB 20),and the points of evenly divided into three parts between GV 16 and GB 20 respectively,and rotated for 1 min,then retained for 15 min,once a day,for 14 sessions.Rats of the medication group were given with intragatric perfusion of nimodipine(12 mL/kg),once daily for 14 days.The blood microcirculation of the brain was detected by using a laser Doppler flowmeter with the probe put near the surface of cerebral piamater.The whole blood viscosity was determined using a blood rheological automatic detector.Results In comparison with the false operation group,the blood flow volume of the cerebral piamater was remarkably decreased and the whole blood viscosity level significantly increased in the model group(P<0.01).In comparison with the model group,the blood flow volume of the cerebral piamater was obviously increased and the whole blood viscosity apparently decreased in both the acupuncture and medication groups(P<0.01).The effects of acupuncture were obviously better than those of the medication in upregulating blood flow volume and in lowering whole blood viscosity(P<0.01).Conclusion The nape cluster acupuncture treatment has a favorable role in improving brain microcirculation by raising blood flow volume and reducing blood viscosity in ischemic stroke rats.
摘要:Objective To evaluate the effect of acupoint catgut embedding on motor function in patients with acute cerebral infarction(ACI),and to explore its mechanism.Methods Sixty-three ACI patients were randomly assigned to acupuncture group(n=30) and catgut embedding group(n=33).Patients of the acupuncture group received acupuncture stimulation of Baihui(GV 20),Neiguan(PC 6),Sanyinjiao(SP 6),Taichong(LR 3),etc.and scalp-point Motor Area,Sensory Area,Balance Area,once daily,5 times a week for 20 times.Patients of the catgut embedding group received catgut embedding at the acupoints same to acupuncture group,once every 10 days,3 times altogether.Additionally,both groups received regular treatment of neurology(controlling blood pressure,blood sugar and blood lipids levels,physical therapy,etc.) and early rehabilitation training(limb motor training).The patients' functional mobility was evaluated by simplified Fugl-Meyer Assessment Scale(FMA) and Modified Bathel Index Scale(MBI).The level of serum high sensitivity C-reactive protein(hs-CRP) was detected using latex agglutination reaction method;and serum interleukin-6(IL-6)content measured by enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay.Results After 30 days' treatment,the mean scores of FMA and MBI were significantly increased in both acupuncture group and catgut embedding group(P<0.05),suggesting an improvement of the cerebral infarction patient's functional mobility after the treatment.The the-rapeutic effect of the catgut embedding was obviously superior to that of the acupuncture group(P<0.05).The mean contents of serum IL-6 and hs-CRP of the two groups were significantly decreased after the treatment(P<0.05),suggesting a reduction of proinflammatory cytokine and inflammatory mediator levels,respectively.The levels of both serum IL-6 and hs-CRP of the catgut embedding group were markedly lower than those of the acupuncture group(P<0.05).Conclusion Acupoint catgut embedding therapy is effective in improving cerebral infarction patients' functional mobility,which is related to its action in inhibiting inflammatory reaction in the early stage of cerebral ischemic injury.
摘要:Objective To observe the effect of transcutaneous acupoint electrical stimulation(TAES) combined with target controlled infusion of Propofol on the doses of Propofol and adjuvant drugs,and on the resuscitation time of general anesthesia for craniotomy patients.Methods Forty patients(aged 27-65 years),scheduled for craniotomy and signed the informed consent,were randomly and equally divided into TAES group and control group.Patients of the two groups received intravenous anesthesia mainly with target controlled infusion of Propofol.TAES(2 Hz/100 Hz,1-12 mA) was applied to bilateral Yuyao(EX-HN 4) and Taiyang(EX-HN 5) for 20 min first before surgery,and then to bilateral Hegu(LI 4),Quanliao(SI 18) and Fengchi(GB 20) during operation and till the end of the operation.The dosages of Propofol and adjuvant drugs,the duration of surgery and ane-sthesia,and the time of resuscitation and extubation were recorded.Results Compared with the control group,the dosages of Propofol and Nicardipine for craniotomy patients in the TAES group were significantly lower(P<0.05),and the resuscitation time was obviously earlier and the tracheal catheter indwelling time markedly shorter in the TAES group(P<0.05).Conclusion TAES combined with target controlled infusion of Propofol can reduce the dosage of Propofol and Nicardipine,and shorten the resuscitation time and tracheal catheter indwelling time in craniotomy patients.
摘要:Objective To observe the therapeutic effect of manual acupuncture,electroacupuncture(EA),auricular acu-puncture and bloodletting therapies combined with orthogonal design for migraine patients,so as to select a better scheme for relieving headache.Methods A total of 76 migraine patients in the stage of attack were recruited in the present study and randomly(stratified random and central random) allocated to 9 groups by means of orthogonal experimental design [L9(34),4 factors(F) and three levels(L)].i.e.,F1:body-acupoints combination;F1-L1: regional acupoints [Sizhukong(TE 23),Shuaigu(GB 8),Taiyang(EX-HN 5),etc.] near the focus,F1-L2:regional +distal acupoints [Hegu(LI 4),Taichong(LR 3),etc.] far from the focus,and F1-L3:regional +remote acupoints+those selected according to syndrome differentiation [for instance,Ganshu(BL 18),Yanglingquan(GB 34),Qiuxu(GB 40) and Taixi(KI 3) for hyperactivity of Liver-yang,etc.];F2: manual acupuncture or EA of body acupoints;F2-L1:no acupuncture stimulation,F2-L2:manual acupuncture stimulation,and F2-L3:manual+EA stimulation;F3: auricular acupuncture therapy;F3-L1:no acupuncture stimulation,F3-L2:otopoint-manual acupuncture(Shenmen,Jiaogan,etc.),and F3-L3:otopoint-EA;F4: bloodletting;F4-L1: EX-HN 5+Ashi point bloodletting,F4-L2:EX-HN 5 bloodletting,and F4-L3: no bloodletting.The therapeutic effect of acupuncture was evaluated using Visual Analogue Scale(VAS) and analyzed by investigators who did not participate in the treatment course.Results Within 24 hours after the treatment,the four factors influencing headache relief from bigger to smaller are body-acupoints combination>manual acupuncture or EA stimulation>bloodletting>auricular acupuncture.Among the therapeutic schemes evaluated by orthogonal deduction,the analgesic effect was most stable in the manual acupuncture at regional+distal acupoints group which was recommended to be the ba-sic scheme for migraine.The auricular EA could effectively reduce VAS levels from 10 min to 30 min after stimulation,while bloodletting at Taiyang(EX-HN 5)+Ashi points was effective in relieving migraine from 4 h to 24 h after the treatment,suggesting a long lasting post-therapeutic analgesic effect.Conclusion Manual acupuncture stimulation of the local+distal body acupoints combined with otopoint-EA and bloodletting at Taiyang(EX-HN 5) +Ashi points is the best option for relieving migraine during attack.

摘要:Objective To observe the clinical effect of moxibustion therapy for 29 cases of yin-deficiency type acne.Methods In this clinical trial,56 cases of acne patients with yin-deficiency-inner heat type were enrolled.These patients were randomly divided into moxibustion group(treated by suspended moxibustion,n=29) and control group(treated by acupuncture,n=27).In addition,patients of the two groups were also treated by local purulent discharge and skin disinfection,once a week,4 times a month,8 times altogether.Both suspended moxibustion and acupuncture interventions were performed once every other day,3 times a week and 3 months altogether.The therapeutic effect was evaluated by skin lesion score and patients' constitution score.Results Of the patients in the moxibustion and control groups,2 and 1 was cured(the acne subsided above 90% and symptoms disappeared),14 and 6 experienced marked improvement(the acne subsided by 60%-90% and symptoms were obviously relieved),10 and 15 were effective(the acne subsided by 30%-59% and symptoms were relieved),3 and 5 invalid(the acne subsided by below 30% and symptoms were worsen),respectively.The effective rate of the moxibustion group was significantly higher than that of the control group(P<0.05).Following the treatment,the skin lesion score and yin-deficiency constitution score were significantly decreased in comparison with pre-treatment in the same one group(P<0.05),and those of the moxibustion group were remarkably lower than those of the control group(P<0.05).Conclusion Suspended moxibustion is effective in improving both skin lesion and yin-deficiency constitution in acne patients with yin-deficiency-inner heat type.
摘要:Objective To observe whether acupuncture stimulation of Neiguan(PC 6) can prevent postoperative nausea and vomiting(PONV) in patients undergoing craniotomy.Methods A total of 60 patients scheduled for craniotomy were randomly assigned to acupuncture group(n=30) and control group(n=30).When regaining consciousness from the surgical anesthesia,patients of the acupuncture group received immediate acupuncture stimulation of bilateral Neiguan(PC 6).After insertion,the filiform needles were manipulated with uniform reinforcing-reducing method for about 1 min(re-manipulated once again 10 min later),followed by retaining it for 20 min.Patients of the control group received no treatment.Vomiting or retching(having vomitus) was considered as an emetic episode.Nausea was assessed by a four-point verbal rating scale(none,mild,moderate,severe).Results Following the treatment,in the acupuncture group,1 patient had a vomiting from 0 to 2 h,and 1 patient had a vomiting from 2 to 6 h after the operation,and no patients had this symptom 6 h after the operation.While in the control group,the vomiting occurred in 11 patients from 0 to 2 h,8 cases from 2 to 6 h,and other 8 cases from 6 to 24 h after the operation.Comparison between two groups showed that the nausea scores in the 3 time-stages were significantly lower in the acupuncture group than in the control group(P<0.05).Conclusion Acupuncture stimulation of PC 6 is effective in preventing and treating PONV in patients undergonig craniotomy.

摘要:CHENG Dan-an is one of the well-known representatives of modern acupuncturology subject.In the present paper,the authors analyzed the definitions and explanations about the contents of acu-moxibustion medicine and their logical relations in the light of the developmental course of acupuncturology system in different historical stages reflected in Cheng's three major books,Therapeutics of Chinese Acu-moxibustion,Teaching Materials of Chinese Acu-moxibustion and Chinese Acupuncturology.The authors also introduced 1) the background and overview of accomplishment of Cheng's three books;and 2) styles and contents of his writings.Beginning from clinical curative effect,using the model of Western medicine for reference,and imbibing achievements of Japanese modern researches on acu-moxibustion medicine,CHENG Dan-an constructed the fundamental framework of the modern subject system of acupuncturology on the basis of classical theory.

摘要:Depression is a state of low mood and aversion to activity that has a negative effect on the patient's thoughts,behavior,feelings,and physical well-being.In the past five years,a significant progress has been made in understanding the mechanism of acupuncture therapy for improving depression.In the present paper,the authors summarize mechanisms of acupuncture for depression from 1) upregulating levels of monoamine neurotransmitters,gamma-aminobutyric acid,5-HT1A receptor bin-ding,and hypothalamic neuropeptide Y,β-endorphine,and μ-receptor expression,and down-regulating hippocampal glutamate content,etc.;2) upregulating expression of hippocampal brain-derived neurotrophic factor protein and mRNA and its receptor TrkB,and activating adenyl cyclase-cAMP-PKA-CREB signaling pathway;3) increasing hippocampal growth-associated protein 43 level and suppressing hippocampal c-Jun N-terminal kinase activation and cellular apoptosis;4) upregulating expression of glial fibrillary acidic protein(activating glia cells);5) regulating activities of hypothalamus-pituitary-adrenal axis and hypothalamus-pituitary-sex gland axis;6) down-regulating serum IL-1β,IL-6,and tumor necrosis factor-α levels.Moreover,the authors also put forward some suggestions about the further research on the mechanisms of acupuncture intervention for depression in the future.
