摘要:Objective To observe the effect of electroacupuncture(EA)on expression of synaptic plasticity-related glutamate N-methyl-D-aspartate(NMDA)receptor subunit NR 1,gamma-aminobutyric acid(GABA)receptor subunits(Aβ2,B 1),etc.in the amygdala in chronic neuropathic pain negative affection(CNPPNA)rats,so as to reveal its mechanism underlying pain relief.Methods Male Wistar rats were randomized into normal control,CNPPNA model,EA,and anesthesia+EA(AEA)groups(n=14in each group,8for quantitative RT-PCR and 6for immunofluorescence staining).The CNPPNA model was established by ligation of the left sciatic nerve and repeated electrical stimulation of the hindpaw plantar skin in the pain-paired compartment.EA was applied to bilateral"Zusanli"(ST 36)and"Yanglingquan"(GB 34)for 30 min,once daily for 7days.Thermal pain threshold(paw withdrawal latency,PWL)of the bilateral paws was measured by using a Tail-Flick Unit.The conditioned place aversion(CPA)was determined by using a CPA-paired compartment.The expression levels of GABAAβ2,GABAB 1,NMDA receptor subunit NR 1,postsynaptic density-95protein(PSD-95),Piccolo genes in the right amygdala area were determined using quantitative RT-PCR,and the immunoactivity of metabotropic glutamate receptor subunit 1(mGluR 1)and GABAB 2in the basolateral amygdala(BLA)nucleus was detected using immunofluorescence staining.Results After modeling,PWL difference(PWLD)values of the model group were significantly increased(P<0.001),and the time spent in the CPA-paired compartment was considerably decreased compared with the control group(P<0.001).After EA intervention for 3and 7days,the PWLD levels of both EA and AEA groups were apparently decreased(P<0.05),and the time spent in the CPA-paired compartment was apparently increased in the EA and AEA groups(P<0.05),suggesting apain relief and an improvement of the negative affection after EA intervention.Additionally,following EA,the apparently-decreased expression levels of GABAAβ2,GABAB 1,PSD-95,Piccolo genes and the reduced numbers of GABAB 2positive cells and NMDA-NR 1 mRNA as well as mGluR 1positive fiber numbers were remarkably increased in the EA group(P<0.05,P<0.001).The expression levels of Piccolo gene,GABAB 2and mGluR 1positive cells/fiber numbers were apparently lower in the AEA group than in the EA group(P<0.001).No significant differences were found between the EA and AEA groups in the PWLD,time spent in the CPA-paired compartment,and the expression levels of NMDA-NR 1,GABAAβ2,GABAB 1and PSD-95genes(P>0.05).Conclusion Repeated EA stimulation of ST 36-GB 34 has a role in relieving both sensory and affection dimensions of chronic pain in CNPPNA rats,which may be respectively related to its effects in up-regulating the expression of GABAAβ2,GABAB 1,NMDA-NR 1,PSD-95 and Piccolo genes,and in promoting the expression of mGluR 1and GABAB 2proteins and Piccolo gene in the amygdala.
摘要:Objective To observe the regulation of APJ and its ligand Apelin on the angiogenesis pathway after cerebral infarction and the intervention effect of acupuncture.Methods Wistar rats were randomly divided into model group(n=90),electroacupuncture(EA)group(n=90),sham operation group(n=90)and control group(n=10).The first three groups were further divided into 1,3,6,9,12,24 hand 3,7,12dsubgroups(n=10in each subgroup).The cerebral infarction model was established by middle cerebral artery occlusion(MCAO).EA(15Hz,2mA)was applied to"Shuigou"(GV 26)for 20 min in the EA group.The 1,3,6,9,12,24 hsubgroups were treated immediately after modeling,the 3,7,9dsubgroups were treated once daily for 3,7or 9days.Real-time fluorescent quantitative(RT-PCR)and Western blot were applied to detect the changes of Apelin and APJ in cerebrovascular endothelial cells,respectively.Results Compared with the control group,the expression of Apelin-APJ mRNA was decreased in the model group(12h,12 d,P<0.05,P<0.01);After EA,the Apelin mRNA expression was increased in the 12 hand 7dsubgroups(P<0.01),while the APJ mRNA expression was increased in the 6,9,12hsubgroups(P<0.05,P<0.01).Compared with the control group,the Apelin(1,3,6,24 hand 3,7,12d)and APJ(1,3,6,9hand 3d)protein expressions were decreased in the model group(P<0.01,P<0.05);After EA,the Apelin protein expression was increased in the 6,24 hand 3,7,12dsubgroups(P<0.05,P<0.01),while the APJ protein expression was increased in the 1,9,12,24 hand 3,7,12dsubgroups(P<0.05,P<0.01).Conclusion EA can up-regulate the expression of Apelin-APJ mRNA and protein of cerebral vascular endothelial cell in MCAO rats which has an important role in the establishment of blood vessel regeneration and collateral circulation.
摘要:Objective To observe the effect of electroacupuncture(EA)stimulation at"Dazhui"(GV 14)and"Mingmen"(GV 4)of the Governor Vessel at different time-points on spinal cord neuronal apoptosis and the expression of c-Jun N-terminal kinases(JNK)protein in spinal cord injury(SCI)rats,so as to reveal its mechanism underlying improving SCI.Methods A total of 108 male SD rats were randomly divided into normal control,SCI model and EA groups which were further divided into 1,3and 7dsubgroups(12rats/subgroup,6rats in each subgroup for TUNEL or Western blot,separately).SCI model was established by using the modified Allen's method.EA was applied to GV 14 and GV 4for 20 min,once daily,for 1,3and 7days,respectively.Basso-Beattie-Bresnahan(BBB)scale was adopted to assess the locomotor function of rats,the TUNEL method was used to examine neuronal apoptosis of injuried spinal cord,and the expression of phosphorylated(p)-c-Jun protein of T9-T11 spinal cord was detected by using Western blot.Results After modeling,the BBB scores of SCI rats on day 1,3and 7were significantly decreased(P<0.01),while the numbers of apoptotic neuronal cells and the expression levels of p-c-Jun protein in the spinal cord were considerably increased at the 3time-points in the model group(P<0.01,P<0.05).Following EA intervention,the decreased BBB scores on day 3and 7,and the increased numbers of apoptotic neuronal cells on day 1,3and 7and the upregulated expression levels of p-c-Jun protein on day 3and 7were obviously suppressed(P<0.05,P<0.01).ConclusionEA intervention can improve the locomotor function of SCI rats,which may be related to its effects in reducing neuronal apoptosis and down-regulating p-c-Jun protein in the injuried spinal cord.
摘要:Objective To observe the influence of electroacupuncture(EA)stimulation with different electrical current intensities and therapeutic intervals on learning-memory ability and expression ofβ-amyloid peptide Aβ1-40 and arginine vasopressin(AVP)genes in the hippocampal CA 1region in vascular dementia(VD)rats,so as to provide evidence for treatment of VD.Methods A total of 48 male SD rats were randomly divided into sham,model,0.5mA-5d-EA,1.5mA-5d-EA,0.5mA-1d-EA and 1.5 mA-1d-EA groups(n=8in each group).The VD model was established using modified 4-vessels occlusion method.EA(alternative 2Hz/15 Hz,0.5mA,1.5mA)was applied to"Baihui"(GV 20)and"Dazhui"(GV 14)for 30 min,once a day(1d)or once every 5dfor 10 times.The learning-memory ability was detected using Morris water maze tests(place navigation task and spatial probe trials),and the expression of Aβ1-40 and AVP genes in hippocampal CA 1region was determined using real time-PCR.Results In comparison with the sham group,the average escape latency of place navigation task,and the duration for crossing the target-platform for the 1st time(spatial navigation task)were significantly increased(P<0.05),and the times to cross the target-platform within 2min(spatial probe trials)were significantly decreased in the model group(P<0.05),suggesting a reduction of learning-memory ability.The expression level of Aβ1-40 mRNA was remarkably increased(P<0.05),and that of AVP mRNA notably decreased in the model group(P<0.05).Following EA intervention,the increased escape latency and the duration of crossing the target-platform for the 1st time and the increased Aβ1-40 mRNA expression,and the decreased target-platform crossing times within 2min as well the down-regulated AVP mRNA expression level were reversed in the 4EA groups compared with the model group(P<0.05).The therapeutic effects of higher stimulating intensity(1.5mA-1d-EA and1.5mA-5d-EA)were markedly superior to those of lower intensity(0.5mA-1d-EA and 0.5mA-5d-EA),and the effects of higher frequency of EA intervention(0.5 mA-5d-EA and 1.5 mA-5d-EA)were obviously superior to those of lower frequency of EA(0.5mA-1d-EA and 1.5 mA-1d-EA)in suppressing the increased 3indexes and the decreased 2indexes mentioned above(P<0.05).Conclusion EA can improve the learning-memory ability of VD rats,which may be related to its effects in inhibiting the expression of Aβ1-40 mRNA and up-regulating the expression of AVP mRNA in hippocampal CA 1region;and the therapeutic effects of higher stimulating intensity and higher intervention frequency are obviously better than those of lower stimulating intensity and lower therapeutic frequency.
摘要:Objective To investigate the effect of"Jiaji"(EX-B 2)-electroacupuncture(EA)preconditioning on the myocardium and expression of cytochrome P 450 signaling pathways of myocardial cells in myocardial ischemia-reperfusion injury(MI/RI)rats.Methods Sixty male Wistar rats were randomly divided into sham operation,model,Jiaji,Neiguan(PC 6),Yanglingquan(GB 34)and Quchi(LI 11)groups(n=10in each group).MI/RI model was established by occlusion of the descending anterior branch of the left coronary artery.EA preconditioning was respectively applied to EX-B 2,PC 6,GB 34 and LI 11for30 min,once daily for 7days.The ECG-ST segment was detected before and after the modeling.The contents of serum creatine kinase-MB(CK-MB)and lactate dehydrogenase(LDH)were detected by ELISA and microplate method separately.The expression levels of myocardial CYP 450 related genes cyp 1a1,cyp 2b2,cyp 2c11,cyp 4a2 were detected by Real-time PCR.Results Thirty minutes after ligation the changes of ECG-ST segment displacement of the Jiaji group and Neiguan group were significantly lower than that of the model group(P<0.01),and the change was significantly lower in the Neiguan group than in the model group(P<0.01)30minutes after reperfusion.Compared with the sham operation group,the activities of serum CK-MB and LDH were significantly increased in the model group(P<0.01).Compared with the model group,the activities of serum CK-MB and LDH were significantly decreased in the Jiaji,Neiguan and Yanglingquan groups(P<0.01).Compared with the Jiaji group,the activity of serum LDH was significantly increased in the Quchi group,while the activities of serum CK-MB were significantly increased in the Quchi and Yanglingquan groups(P <0.05).Compared with the sham operation group,the expression levels of myocardial cyp 1a1 and cyp 2b2 mRNAs were significantly higher in the model group(P<0.01),while the expression of cyp 2c11 mRNA was lower(P<0.01).Compared with the model group,the expression levels of cyp 1a1 and cyp 4a2 mRNAs were lower in the Jiaji,Neiguan and Yanglingquan groups(P<0.01),while the expressions of cyp 2b2 and cyp 2c11 mRNAs were higher(P<0.01).Compared with the Jiaji group,the expression of cyp 1a1 mRNA was lower in the Neiguan group,while the expression of cyp 2b2 mRNA was higher(P<0.05).Conclusion EA preconditioning at Jiaji(EX-B 2)can reduce serum myocardial enzymes of myocardial ischemia-reperfusion rats,lower the ST segment of electrocardiogram,up-regulate myocardial CYP 450 epoxygenase cyp 2b2 and cyp 2c11 mRNAs expression,down-regulateω-hydroxylase cyp 1a1 and cyp 4a2 mRNAs expression,thus play a role in myocardial protection.

摘要:Objective To observe the effect of electroacupuncture(EA)and moxibustion(Moxi)pretreatment on expression of myocardial heat shock protein(HSP)in acute myocardial ischemia-reperfusion injury(MIRI)rabbits.Methods A total of 72 New Zealand rabbits were randomly divided into 4groups:sham operation,MIRI model,EA pretreatment and Moxi pretreatment(n=18rabbits in each group)which were further divided into 0,24 and 48h(time-point)subgroups(n=6in each).The MIRI model was established by occlusion of the anterior descending branch(ADB)of the left coronary artery for 40 min and reperfusion for 60 min.EA and Moxi stimulation was respectively applied to bilateral"Neiguan"(PC 6)for 20 min,once daily for 5days before ADB occlusion.The expressions of myocardial HSP 27,HSP 70 and HSP 90 were detected by immunohistochemistry.The pathological and ultrastructural changes of left ventricular ischemia tissue were observed under light and transmission electronic microscope(TEM),respectively.Results Outcomes of H.E.staining and ultrastructure showed that MIRI-induced changes of disordered arrangement of cardiomyocytes,vague myocardial transverse striation,inflammatory infiltration,cardiac myofibre necrosis and fibrolysis(light microscope),and myofiber atrophy,vague and disorder in the arrangement of myofiber,myofilament necrosis,interstitial edema,mitochondrial swelling,microvessel expansion,etc.(TEM)were relatively milder in both EA and Moxi pretreatment groups(48h).In comparison with the sham group,the expression levels of myocardial HSP 27,HSP 70 and HSP 90 had no significant changes after MIRI at the 3time-points(P>0.05).In the pretreatment groups,the expression levels of HSP 27 at 24and 48 hin both EA and Moxi groups,HSP 70 at 48hin both groups,HSP 70 at 0and 24 hin the Moxi group were significantly up-regulated compared with the model group(P<0.05,P<0.01).No significant changes were found in the expression of HSP 90 at the 3time-points in the EA and Moxi pretreatment groups(P>0.05).No significant differences were found between EA and Moxi in up-regulating expressions of myocardial HSP 27,HSP 70 and HSP 90 proteins at the 3time-points(P>0.05)except HSP 70 at 24h(Moxi being stronger relative to EA,P<0.05).Conclusion EA and Moxi pretreatment has a protective effect on ischemic myocardium in MIRI rabbits,which may be associated with their actions in up-regulating myocardial HSP 27 and HSP 70 expression.
摘要:Objective To investigate the effects of electroacupuncture(EA)on the expression of adenosine receptor(AR)in the white adipose tissue(WAT)of diet-induced obese(DIO)mice,so as to reveal a peripheral mechanism of EA underlying improvement of body weight.Methods Forty three-week-old C 57BL/6male mice were divided into normal diet group(n=12)and high fat diet group(n=28)randomly,and fed by normal diet and high fat diet for 12 weeks,respectively.In the high fat diet group,mice with body weight over 20% heavier than that of the normal diet group were considered as obese mice.The normal diet mice and the obese mice were divided into normal group(CD,n=5)and normal plus EA group(CD+EA,n=7),or obese group(HFD,n=6)and obese plus EA group(HFD+EA,n=12).The CD+EA group and the HFD+EA group were treated with EA at"Zusanli"(ST 36)and"Neiting"(ST 44,2Hz/15 Hz,0.6-1.0mA)for 20 min,6times a week for 4weeks.Body weight,ratio of WAT/body weight were calculated,qPCR and Western blot were applied to detect mRNA and protein levels of adenosine receptors in the epididymal adipose tissue(Epi-WAT),respectively.Results Compared with the normal diet group,high fat diet significantly increased body weight in C 57BL/6mice after feeding for 12weeks(P<0.01);18out of 28 mice in the high fat diet group were classified as obesity.After treatment,the body weight and the ratio of Epi-WAT/body weight of the HFD group were increased than those in the CD group(P<0.05),the change of body weight in the HFD group was bigger than that in the CD group(P<0.01).Compared with the HFD group,the body weight and the ratio of Epi-WAT/body weight of the HFD+EA group were decreased after EA(P<0.05),the change of body weight was also significantly increased(P<0.01).No significant differences were found among the four groups in the expression level of A1 R mRNA(P>0.05).The expression of A3 R mRNA in the HFD group was lower than that in the CD group(P<0.01),while the expressions of A_(2A)R and A_(2B)R proteins were decreased in the HFD group than in the CD group(P<0.01).In comparison with the HFD group,the expression levels of A_(2A)R and A_(2B)R mRNAs and proteins were significantly up-regulated in the HFD+EA group,respectively(P<0.05,P<0.01).ConclusionEA intervention is able to reduce the body weight of DIO mice,which may be associated with its effects in regulating the expression of A_(2A)R and A_(2B)R in WAT,suggesting a new mechanism of EA in accelerating peripheral WAT metabolism.
摘要:Objective To observe the effect of electroacupuncture(EA)on the hormones derived from the hypothalamus-pituitary-ovary(HPO)axis,so as to explore the neuroendocrine mechanism induced by EA on rats with perimenopausal depression disorder.Methods Sixty female sprague-dawley rats were randomly divided into blank control group,model group,sham-operation(sham)group,clomipramine group,and electroacupuncture(EA)group,with 12 rats in each group.Perimenopausal depression model was established by bilateral ovariectomy combined with chronic unpredictable stimulation.The EA group received continuous treatment at"Baihui"(GV 20),"Shenshu"(BL 23)and "Sanyinjiao"(SP 6)once a day for 28 days.Estrous cycle and sucrose preference test were monitored,and serum estradiol(E2),luteinizing hormone(LH),gonadotropin releasing hormone(GnRH),andβ-endorphin(β-EP)were detected by ELISA.Results Compared to the blank control group,sugar water consumpution rates decreased in the model group and sham group(P<0.05).Compared to the blank group and sham group,the serum LH and GnRH levels increased(P<0.05),companied with lower serum E2andβ-EP levels in the model group(P<0.05).Compared to the model group,sugar water consumpution rates increased in the clomipramine group and EA group(P<0.05),both were companied with decreased serum LH and GnRH levels(P<0.05),and higher serum E2andβ-EP levels(P<0.05).Conclusion Electroacupuncture can relieve the symptoms of rat with perimenopausal depression by regulating the hormone secretion in HPO axis.
摘要:Objective To compare the effects of filiform needling,electroacupuncture,and moxibustion on functional constipation in rats,and to explore the possible mechanism of these three different methods.Methods Male SD rats were randomly divided into blank control group(n=8),model group(n=11),medication group(n=8),filiform needling group(n=11),electroacupuncture group(n=11),and moxibustion group(n=11).Functional constipation model was established by intragastric administration with the suspension of loperamide hydrochloride,daily for six days in a week.One hour after each gavage,the medication group was treated with cisapride suspension,while the other three groups were treated with filiform needling,electroacupuncture,and moxibustion,respectively,at"Tianshu"(ST 25),"Shangjuxu"(ST 37)acupoints.The first defecation time was recorded.NO,NOS and VIP(vasoactive intestinal peptide)levels in plasma were detected by ELISA.Immuohistochemical and Western blot methods were applied to test VIP expression in the colonic tissue.Results Compared with the blank control group,the first defecation time was prolonged,and the NO,NOS and VIP contents in plasma were increased in the model group(P<0.05,P<0.01),accompanied with increased score of VIP in the smooth muscle of colonic wall(P<0.05)and elevated VIP expression in colonic tissue(P<0.01).Compared with the model group,the first defecation time was shortened in the medication,filiform needling,electroacupuncture,and moxibustion groups(P<0.05),while decreased NO,NOS and VIP contents in plasma(P<0.01,P<0.05),decreased score of VIP in the smooth muscle of colonic wall(P<0.05),and lower expression level of VIP in colonic tissue(P<0.01)were observed in the four treatment groups.In contrast,the plasma VIP content in the electroacupuncture group was lower than that in the medication group(P<0.01),while colonic VIP expression decreased in the moxibustion group(P<0.01).The NO,NOS and VIP contents in plasma and score of VIP in the smooth muscle of colonic wall in the electroacupuncture group were lower than those in the filiform needling group and the moxibustion group(P<0.01,P<0.05),but the colonic VIP expression in the moxibustion group was lower than that in the filiform needling group(P <0.05)and electroacupuncture group(P<0.01).Conclusion All the three different kinds of acupuncture and moxibustion methods have positively regulatory effect on functional constipation;electroacupuncture is the best for the regulation of plasma NO,NOS and VIP contents,while moxibustion is the best for the regulation of VIP expression in colonic tissue.
摘要:Objective To observe the effect of electroacupuncture(EA)and manual acupuncture interventions on colonic inflammatory injury,cytokine level and cell apoptosis in ulcerative colitis(UC)rats,so as to reveal its mechanisms underlying improvement of UC.Methods A total of 32 SD rats were randomized into control,model,EA and manual acupuncture groups(8rats/group).The UC model was established by intrarectally administration of 5% trinitro-benzene-sulfonic acid(TNBS)+ dehydrated alcohol.Both"Quchi"(LI 11)and"Zusanli"(ST 36)were punctured with filiform needles for 20 min in the manual acupuncture group or stimulated with EA(8Hz/25 Hz,2-4mA,and duration of 20min)in the EA group.The treatment was conducted once daily for consecutive 6days.Changes of body weight and pathological state of colitis were observed.The contents of pro-inflammatory cytokines(TNF-α,IL-1β,IL-6),anti-inflammatory cytokine(IL-10),homocysteine(Hcy)and myeloperoxidase(MPO,two oxygen free radicals associated substances)in the colon tissues were detected by ELISA,and the protein expression levels of Bcl-2,Bax,phosphorylated(p)-inhibitor of nuclear factor kappaB kinaseα(IκBα)and p-p 65(a subunit of nuclear factor)of colonic tissues were detected by Western blot,separately.Results Compared with the control group,the body weight was decreased and the state of the swelling and hemorrhage of the colon got worsened in the model group,while the state of the swelling and hemorrhage of the colon was better in both EA and manual acupuncture groups,and the body weight was clearly increased from day 4on in both treatment groups.The concentrations of colonic TNF-α,IL-1β,IL-6,IL-10,MPO and Hcy were all significantly higher in the model group than in the control group(P<0.01),but those of colonic TNF-α,IL-1β,IL-6in both EA and manual acupuncture groups,those of MPO and Hcy in the EA group were significantly down-regulated following the intervention(P<0.05,P<0.01),and that of IL-10 was notably further increased in the manual acupuncture group(P<0.05).In addition,modeling-induced remarkable down-regulation of colonic Bcl-2/Bax,and marked up-regulation of expression of IκBαand p-p 65 proteins were significantly suppressed in both EA and manual acupuncture groups(P<0.01).Conclusion Both EA and manual acupuncture interventions may alleviate the colonic lesions in UC rats,which may be related to their functions in regulating levels of pro-inflammatory and anti-inflammatory cytokines,in balancing the expression of apoptosis-related protein and antiapoptosis-related protein and in down-regulating the expression of the key nuclear transcription factors in the colonic tissue.
摘要:Objective To observe the effect of acupuncture stimulation of different acupoints or acupoint groups on intestinal locomotor in slow transit constipation(STC)mice,so as to provide experimental evidence for demonstrating the synergic function of acupoint combination.Methods A total of 190 Kunming mice were randomized into 19groups:normal control,model,uni-"Quchi"(LI 11),uni-"Shangjuxu"(ST 37),uni-"Tianshu"(ST 25),and uni-"Dachangshu"(BL 25)groups,for analyzing the effect of single acupoint;normal control,model,uni-ST 25+uni-BL 25,uni-LI 11+uni-ST 37,bi-ST 25,bi-BL 25,bi-LI11,and bi-ST 37 groups,for comparing the effect between single acupoint and two acupoints combination;normal control,model,bi-ST 25+bi-BL 25,bi-LI 11+bi-ST 37,and uni-LI 11+uni-ST 37+uni-ST 25 +uni-BL 25 groups,for comparing the effect between four acupoints and two acupoints combinations(10mice/group).The STC model was established by intragastric administration of compound diphenoxylate suspension(1mg/100g),once daily for 2days.Manual acupuncture needle stimulation(200twirling times/min for 1min)was applied to the abovementioned unilateral or bilateral acupoints twice daily for 7times.The first defecation time,the defecation grain number in 12 hand the intestinal propulsion rate were determined using activated carbon gavage.Results Compared with the normal group,the first defecation time was significantly increased in the STC model group(P<0.01),while the 12 hdefecation grain number and the intestinal propulsion rate were considerably decreased in the model group(P<0.01).After manual acupuncture intervention,the first defecation time was notably shortened in the uni-LI 11,uni-ST37,uni-ST 25,uni-BL 25,bi-ST 25,bi-BL 25,bi-LI 11,bi-ST 37,uni-ST 25+uni-BL 25,uni-LI 11+uni-ST 37,bi-ST 25+bi-BL25,bi-LI 11+bi-ST 37 and the uni-ST 25+uni-BL 25+uni-LI 11+uni-ST 37 groups compared with the model group(P<0.05),while both the 12 hdefecation grain number and intestinal propulsion rate were considerably increased in the abovementioned 13 acupuncture groups(P<0.05,P<0.01).The effects of uni-ST 25+uni-BL 25 and uni-LI 11+uni-ST 37 were significantly superior to those of bi-ST 25,bi-BL 25,bi-LI 11 and bi-ST 37 groups,and those of the uni-ST 25+uni-BL 25+uni-LI 11+uni-ST 37 group were markedly superior to those of bi-ST 25+bi-BL 25 and bi-LI 11+bi-ST 37 groups in shortening the first defecation time and in increasing the 12 hdefecation grain number and intestinal propulsion rate(P<0.05).Conclusion Acupuncture stimulation of LI 11,ST 37,ST 25 and BL 25 can improve constipation in STC mice,and the effect of two acupoints combination is significantly superior to that of the corresponding bilateral single acupoint,and that of the 4unilateral single acupoint combination is obviously superior to that of two bilateral acupoints combination,suggesting a synergistic action of acupuncture stimulation.

摘要:Objective To observe the therapeutic effect of eye-acupuncture therapy for post-stroke insomnia.Methods Sixty patients(45-70 years in age)with post-stroke insomnia were randomized into eye-acupuncture group and routine acupuncture(body acupuncture)group(30cases in each).Patients of the eye-acupuncture group were treated by acupuncture stimulation of bilateral Shangjiao(Upper-energizer)and Xin(Heart)regions and those of the routine acupuncture group treated by acupuncture stimulation of Baihui(GV 20),Sishencong(EX-HN 1),Anmian(EX-HN 16),etc.After Deqi,the filiform needles were retained for 20 min,and the treatment in both groups was conducted once a day,with 15 days being one therapeutic course and 2courses altogether.The Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index(PSQI)including the subjective sleep quality,sleep latency,sleep duration,habitual sleep efficiency,sleep disturbances,daytime dysfunction,and total PSQI score was used to evaluate the overall sleep quality.The clinical efficacy was assessed according to the"Guiding Principles of Clinical Trials for New Drugs of Traditional Chinese Medicine"formulated by Chinese Ministry of Health.Results Following the treatment,of the two 30 cases in the eyeand routine acupuncture groups,21 and 9experienced a marked improvement in their symptoms,8and 17 were effective,and 1and 4invalid,with the effective rate being 96.7% and 86.7%,respectively.The PSQI scores of the subjective sleep quality,sleep latency,sleep duration,habitual sleep efficiency,sleep disturbances,daytime dysfunction,and the total PSQI score were all significantly decreased in comparison with pre-treatment in each group(P<0.01).The therapeutic effect of the eye-acupuncture was markedly superior to those of routine acupuncture in reducing sleep latency,sleep disturbances and daytime dysfunction(P<0.05),but without significant differences between the two groups in the effective rate,sleep quality,sleep duration,sleep efficiency and total PSQI score(P>0.05).Conclusion Both eye-acupuncture and routine acupunture are effective in the treatment of post-stroke insomnia,and the eye-acupuncture is better than routine acupuncture in reducing sleep latency,improving sleep disturbances and daytime dysfunction.
摘要:Objective To observe the clinical effect of acupuncture stimulation of"Yaotong"-point(one acupoint of balance acupuncture therapy)and Ashi-points combined with patients' lumbar movement in the treatment of acute lumbar sprain.Methods Forty-six acute lumbar sprain patients were randomized into treatment group(26cases)and control group(20cases)using a random number table.The patients of the treatment group were treated by acupuncture stimulation of"Yaotong"-point[above Yintang(EX-HN 3)]and local Ashi-points for 20 min,and were asked to move the waist simultaneously during acupuncture stimulation.The treatment was conducted once every other day,3times a week,one week in total.Those of the control group were treated by oral administration of loxoprofen sodium tablets(60mg,twice a day,for one week).The pain severity of lumbago and motor function were assessed by using visual analogue scale(VAS)and present pain intensity(PPI)and lumbar range of motion(ROM)separately.Results Following the treatment,of the 20 and 26acute lumbar sprain patients in the control and treatment groups,6(30.0%)and 14(53.8%)were cured,9(45.0%)and11(42.4%)experienced an improvement in their symptoms,5(25.0%)and 1(3.8%)was invalid,with the effective rates being75.0% and 96.2%,respectively.Compared with pre-treatment,the ROM and VAS scores were significantly decreased in both the control and treatment groups post-treatment(P<0.01),and the therapeutic effects of the treatment group were obviously superior to those of the control group in the effective rate and in the improvement of lumbar motion function and in pain relief(P<0.05,P<0.01).Conclusion Acupuncture treatment plus patients' lumbar movement is effective in reducing lumbar pain and improving lumbar motor function in the treatment of acute lumbar sprain.

摘要:The ancient classic work Yellow Emperor's Inner Canon has abundant expositions about the relationship between the acupuncture needle manipulation and pulse diagnosis.However,the relevant imparting and inheritance situations are relatively weaker nowadays probably due to the rapid development of modern diagnosis-therapeutic techniques and some faults or careless omission in understanding classical medical works.Qi,a core concept of the abundant expositions in Inner Canon,has seldom been thoroughly interpreted about its connotations.For this reason,in the present paper,the authors make a careful explanation about the connotations of Qi in Inner Canonfrom 1)the concept of Qikou(a superficial window of the body reflecting the functional state of internal organs),2)pulse conditions,3)its relationship with meridian-collateral diagnosis,and 4)the link between acupuncture needle stimulation and pulse diagnosis based on the scriptures and words description in combination with many scholars' doctrines,trying to explore its profound significance.In addition,the authors also expound its association with the effectiveness of distant treatment of acupuncture and the characteristics in relation to ancient medical scholars' thoughts.

摘要:Reinforcing and reducing manipulation is the elite of traditional acupuncture needling methods.Abundant records could be found in Neijing(The Yellow Emperor's Inner Canon)and Nanjing(The Classic on Medical Problems)at early times.In the present paper,the author collates and compares the recordation of reinforcing and reducing acupuncture manipulation in these two classics on the basis of the principle and connotation of the two manipulations and from three key factors as stimulus location,manipulation technique and needling time.Based on objective analysis of the original text,distinct differences were found in above three aspects.Therefore,the conclusion is that Neijing and Nanjingresemble different medical school of thoughts at an early phase of acupuncture theories.

摘要:With the development of pain study,researchers gradually recognized that pain is composed of three main dimensions,namely"sensory-discriminative""affective-motivational"and"cognitive-evaluative"which influence each other and are also independent from each other.Pain study has shifted away from focusing on the single mode of nociception to the multi-dimensional mode of sensory-affection-cognition.It is held early in traditional Chinese medicine that"when there is a stoppage,there is apain"and a worsening disease may induce depression,which has already shown a multi-dimensional recognition about pain.Acupuncture therapy has been considered to be an effective adjuvant approach for relieving pain.In the present paper,the authors introduced applicability of acupuncture analgesia by modulating the abovementioned multi-dimensions of pain from the following 4aspects:1)multi-dimensions of pain and related brain regions;2)recognitions of traditional Chinese medicine about pain;3)development of researches on acupuncture analgesia,including a)balancing activities of endogenous analgesic and algogenic substances,and triggering intracellular mitogen-activated protein kinase(MAPK)signaling to reduce algesia,b)improving psychological symptoms of patients with depression,anxiety,insomnia,etc.,c)modulating functional activities of some common brain regions(as hippocampus,anterior cingutate,frontal lobe of cerebral cortex,etc.)sharing both pain information and learning-memory processing.Hence,the authors hold that if the clinical study and application and experimental researches conducted on the underlying mechanisms of acupuncture analgesia extend towards the multi-dimensions of pain,a series of new concepts or thoughts will be brought out,thereby possibly opening a bright applicable prospect for acupuncture analgesia.

摘要:Objective To explore the rule of clinical application of auricular acupuncture therapy by data mining in order to guide clinical practice.Methods The data base about single auricular acupuncture therapy for different clinical diseases was established by collection,sorting,screening,recording,collation,data extraction,statistic analysis on data samples from journals,academic theses dissertations published in near 60 years.The application rules of auricular therapy including its predominant diseases,stimulus modality,therapeutic effect,and angle of needling were summarized by data mining technique.Results Auricular acupuncture therapy has been widely and mostly used in the internal medicine department,accounting for 48.56%.Of stimulus modalities,auricular point paste and pressure is applied with the highest frequency,accounting for 64%.The highest effective rate is found in the surgery department diseases(81.41%).Pressure is the most effective stimulus in the internal medicine department,and bloodletting combined with paste and pressure in the surgery department,auricular point injection in the gynecology and pediatrics departments,bloodletting in the ophthalmology and otorhinolaryngology department,and auricular point incision in the dermatology department.Auricular point injection has remarkable effect.Bloodletting combined with paste and pressure has nearly the same effect as bloodletting in the same medical department except dematology department.Otherwise,angle of needling is rarely studied.Conclusion Auricular therapy is widely used and has remarkable effect in treating diseases by using different stimulus modalities.Whereas the angle of needling is rarely studied and future investigation is needed.
