      摘要:ObjectiveTo investigate the effect of different frequencies of electroacupuncture(EA)on motor function and expression of autophagy-related proteins microtubule-associated protein light chain 3(LC3),etc. in spinal cord injury(SCI) rats,so as to reveal its underlying mechanisms and provide a reference for clinical application.MethodsA total of 100 male SD rats were randomly divided into sham control,model,2 Hz-EA,100 Hz-EA and2 Hz/100 Hz-EA groups(n=20 in each group). EA(2 Hz,100 Hz or 2 Hz/100 Hz,0. 4-0. 5-0. 6 mA increased by0. 1 mA every10 min)was applied to"HuatuoJiaji"(EX-HN1,T9 and T11)for 30 min,once a day for 7 days. The rat's hindlimb motor function was assessed by using Basso,Beattie and Bresnahan(BBB)locomotor rating scale,inclined plane test and plantar imprinting test,separately. The histological changes and neuronal apoptosis of the spinal cord tissue were observed by Fluoro-Jade B(FJB) and Nissl staining,respectively. The expression of LC3,Beclin 1 and cleaved Caspase-3 proteins in the spinal cord was detected by Western blot.ResultsAfter modeling,the BBB scores and the angles of inclined plane on day 1,3 and 7 were significantly decreased(P<0. 001),and the number of FJB positive cells,and the expression levels of Beclin 1 and cleaved Caspase-3 proteins were considerably increased in the model group compared with the sham control group(P<0. 001,P<0. 05). After EA intervention,the BBB score and the angles of inclined plate on day 3 in the 2 Hz/100 Hz-EA group(rather than in the 2 Hz-and 100 Hz-EA groups),the BBB score and the angles of inclined plate on day 7 in both 2 Hz/100 Hz and 100 Hz-EA groups(rather than in the 2 Hz-EA group),and the expression levels of Beclin 1 and LC3-Ⅱ/Ⅰ in both 2 Hz/100 Hz and 100 Hz-EA groups(rather than in the 2 Hz-EA group)on day 7 were obviously increased(P<0. 001,P<0. 01,P<0. 05),while the number of FJB-positive neurons in the 3 EA groups,and the expression of cleaved Caspase-3 protein in both 2 Hz/100 Hz and 100 Hz-EA groups and the LC3-Ⅱ/Ⅰ in the 2 Hz-EA group were obviously decreased relevant to the model group(P<0. 001,P<0. 05). The expression of Beclin 1 in the 100 Hz-EA group was obviously decreased relevant to the 2 Hz/100 Hz-EA group(P<0. 05). Nissl staining displayed appearance of cavities and fuzzy shape of Nissl bodies with light coloration in the injured spinal cord of model group,which was milder in both 2 Hz/100 Hz-EA and 100 Hz-EA groups. Plantar imprinting tests showed dragging gait prints in the model group due to disability in movement,and relatively distinct foot imprints in both 2 Hz/100 Hz and 100 Hz-EA groups.ConclusionBoth 100 Hz and 2 Hz/100 Hz-EA can effectively promote the recovery of hindlimb locomotor function of SCI rats,which may be related to its function in promoting autophagy of damaged nerve cells and in reducing neuronal apoptosis.

      摘要:ObjectiveTo explore the involvement of miR-34 a in cerebral cortex mediated anti-hyperalgesic effect of electroacupuncture(EA) in mice with neuropathic pain induced by chronic constriction injury(CCI) of sciatic nerve,so as to reveal its mechanisms underlying improvement of neuropathic pain.MethodsA total of 75 male C57 BL/6 mice were equally randomized into 3 groups:sham,CCI model and CCI+EA(n=25 in each group). Mice of the sham group received simple separation of the right sciatic nerve without ligation. The CCI model was established by liagation of the right sciatic nerve. EA(2 Hz/15 Hz,1 mA)was applied to bilateral"Zusanli"(ST36)and"Sanyinjiao"(SP9)for 30 min,once every other day. The mechanical and thermal pain threshold of the bilateral hind-paws was detected at the 3 rd,5 th and 7 thday after modeling,and the expression of miR-34 a of bilateral cerebral cortex tissues and that of p53 protein of the left cerebral cortex were determined by using quantitive real time PCR and Western blot,respectively.ResultsThe mechnical paw withdrawal frequency were significantly higher and the thermal paw withdrawal latencies(PWLs)were significantly shorter at the affected hind-limb(rather than at the healthy hind limb)on day 3,5 and 7 in the CCI model group than those in the sham group(P<0. 05),and considerably reversed at the affected hind-limb(rather than at the healthy hind limb)in the EA group than in the CCI model group(P<0. 05),suggesting an analgesic effect of EA intervention. After modeling,the expression levels of miR-34 a and p53 on day 3,5 and 7 were significantly up-regulated in the left cerebral cortex tissue(rather than in the right cerebral cortex)of the CCI model group in comparison with the sham group(P<0. 05). After EA intervention,the up-regulated expression levels of miR-34 a and p53 in the left cerebral cortex tissue(rather than in the right cerebral cortex)were obviously suppressed in the EA group relevant to the CCI model group(P<0. 05).ConclusionEA stimulation of ST36 and SP9 can down-regulate the expression of miR-34 a and p53 in the contra-lateral cerebral cortex tissue of the CCI mice,which may contribute to its anti-hyperalgesic effect.

      摘要:ObjectiveTo observe the effect of penetrative needling from"Baihui"(GV20)to"Qubin"(GB7)on neurological function and expression of autophagy related protein microtubule-associated protein,light chain 3(LC3)in rats with hemorrhagic stroke,so as to explore its mechanism underlying improvement of hemorrhagic stroke.MethodsA total of 120 male SD rats were randomly divided into sham operation,model,non-acupoint,acupuncture and medication(Rapamycin) groups which were further divided into two time-point subgroups(3,7 days after modeling,n=12/subgroup). The intracerebral hemorrhage model was established by injection of the rat's auto-blood(50 μL)into the putaman region. Penetrative needling from GV20 to GB7 or sham acupoints(about 1 cm beside GV20 and GB7)was conducted for 30 min,twice daily for 7 days. For rats of the medication group,Rapamycin solution(7 μmol/L)was injected into the right lateral ventricle. The neurological functions(locomotor and balance deficits)were evaluated according to suspended wire test(0-6 points)and horizontal board walking test(0-6 points). Immunohistochemistry and Western blot were used to detect the expression of total LC3 and expression of LC3-Ⅰ and LC3-Ⅱ proteins in the ischemic penumbra region of brain tissue,respectively.ResultsAfter modeling,the neurological function scores were significantly decreased on day 3 and 7,the levels of LC3-Ⅱ/Ⅰ and LC3 protein on day 3 and 7 were significantly increased in the model group relevant to the sham operation group(P<0. 05). Following the interventions,the neurological function scores as well as LC3-Ⅱ/Ⅰ and LC3 protein expression were significantly increased in both acupuncture and medication groups compared with the model group(P<0. 05). The effect of Rapamycin was obviously stronger than that of penetrative needling in up-regulating the expression of LC3-Ⅱ/Ⅰ and LC3 protein(P<0. 05).ConclusionPenetrative needling can improve neurologic function in hemorrhagic stroke rats,which is related with its effect in up-regulating the expression of autophagy-related protein LC3.

      摘要:ObjectiveTo investigate the effect of electroacupuncture(EA)on muscular atrophy and expression of microRNAs(Mir-1,Mir-133 a,Mir-133 b)and some proliferation-related factors of muscle satellite cells as histone deacetylase4(HDAC4)and the paired box transcription factor Pax7(Pax7)in skeletal muscle atrophy rats.Methods Twenty-four male SD rats were randomly and equally divided into sham operation,model and EA groups. The skeletal muscle atrophy model was established by transection of the right sciatic nerve. EA(2 Hz,1 mA)was applied to the right"Zusanli"(ST36)and"Huantiao"(GB30)for 10 min,once a day,seven times a week for 2 weeks. The wet weight of bilateral gastrocnemius muscles was measured to calculate the ratio of weight between the affected gastrocnemius muscle and healthy gastrocnemius muscle. The cross-sectional area(CSA)of the gastrocnemius muscle on the affected side was measured after H. E. staining. The expression levels of Mir-1,Mir-133 a,Mir-133 b,HDAC4 mRNA and Pax7 mRNA in the gastrocnemius muscle tissue were detected using quantitative real time-PCR.ResultsCompared with the sham operation group,the ratio of wet weight and CSA of the gastrocnemius muscle,and the expression levels of Mir-1 and Mir-133 a were significantly decreased in the model group(P<0. 01,P<0. 05),while the expression levels of HDAC4 mRNA and Mir-133 b significantly up-regulated in the model group(P<0. 05). Following EA intervention,the decreased levels of the ratio of wet weight and CSA of the gastrocnemius muscle were significantly suppressed(P<0. 01),suggesting an inhibition of the skeletal muscle atrophy,and the expression levels of Pax7 and HDAC4 mRNAs were notably upregulated(P<0. 05),and those of Mir-1,Mir-133 a and Mir-133 b were significantly or further significantly down-regulated relevant to the model group(P<0. 05).ConclusionEA intervention can delay muscular atrophy in rats with denervated gastrocnemius muscle,which may be related with its function in up-regulating the expression of Pax7 and HDAC4 mRNAs and down-regulating the expression of Mir-1,Mir-133 a and Mir-133 b.

      摘要:ObjectiveTo observe the effect of electroacupuncture(EA) of"Baihui"(GV20) and"Zusanli"(ST36)on the expression of stromal cell derived factor-1α(SDF-1α)and CD34 in ischemic cortex tissue of cerebral ischemia/reperfusion injury(CI/RI)rats,so as to study its mechanisms underlying improving CI/RI.MethodsThirty male SD rats were equally and randomly divided into sham operation,model and EA groups(n=10 rats in each group). The CI/RI model was established by occlusion of the middle cerebral artery for 120 min,followed by reperfusion. EA(40 Hz,1-2 mA)was applied to GV20 and left ST36 for 20 min,once daily for successive 14 days. The neurological deficit severity was assessed by using Longa's and colleagues' methods. The histopathological changes of the ischemic tissues were observed after H. E. staining and the expression of SDF-1α and CD34 in the ischemic cortex tissues was detected by immunohistochemistry.ResultsAfter modeling,the neurological deficit score,and the numbers of SDF-1α and CD34-positive cells in the ischemic cerebral cortex tissue were significantly increased in the model group(P<0. 05). Following EA intervention,the increased neurological deficit score was reversed at the 3 rd,7 thand 14 thday,and the increased SDF-1α and CD34-positive cells were significantly further up-regulated in the EA group(P<0. 05). H. E. staining showed tissue edema,widening of the intercellular space,cavitation-like changes,neuronal shrinkage,nuclear pyknosis with hyperchroma or even disappearance,and aggregation of inflammatory and neurogliocytes in the model group.These situations were relatively milder in the EA group.ConclusionEA of GV20 and ST36 can improve neurological function of CI/RI rats,which may be associated with its effect in up-regulating the expression of SDF-1α and CD34 proteins in the ischemic cerebral cortex tissues.

      摘要:Objective To explore the effect of electroacupuncture(EA)on the expression of muscle-specific ring finger protein 1(MuRF1/Trim63),F-box only protein 32(Fbxo32),myosin heavy chain-IIa(Myh2),myosin heavy chain-IIb(Myh4)and myosin heavy chain-I(Myh7)in diabetes rats. Methods Thirty-six male Wistar rats were equally randomized into control,model and EA groups. The diabetes model was established by intraperitoneal injection of 0. 1%Streptozocin(STZ)solution(50 mg/kg). After that,EA(2 Hz,1 mA)was applied to bilateral"Zusanli"(ST36),"Yinlingquan"(SP9)and"Shenshu"(BL23)for 10 min,once a day,6 times a week for 2 weeks. The fasting blood glucose(FBG)and fasting serum insulin(FINS)contents were assayed by using ELISA,and the homeostasis model assessment of insulin resistance(HOMA-IR)was calculated. The body weight,and wet weight of bilateral gastrocnemius muscles were measured. The cross-sectional area(CSA) of the gastrocnemius muscle was measured after H. E. staining. The expression of MuRF1,Fbxo32,Myh2,Myh4 and Myh7 mRNAs in the gastrocnemius tissue was tested using quantitative real time-PCR. Results Compared with the control group,the FBG and HOMA-IR were significantly higher(P<0. 05),and the FINS,body weight were significantly lower(P<0. 05)after intravenous injection of STZ for 1,2,3,4,5 weeks respectively. Following EA treatment and compared with the model group,the FBG and HOMA-IR were significantly down-regulated(P<0. 05),and the FINS and body weight were considerably increased(P<0. 05). Following modeling and compared with the control group,the wet weight of gastrocnemius muscle,CSA,and expression levels of Myh2,Myh4 and Myh7 mRNAs were obviously decreased,and the expression of MuRF1 and Fbxo32 mRNA was obviously increased in the model group(P<0. 05). After EA treatment,the gastrocnemius muscle wet weight,CSA,expression levels of Myh2,Myh4 and Myh7 mRNA were significantly up-regulated(P< 0. 05),and the expression levels of MuRF1 and Fbxo32 mRNA were markedly down-regulated in comparison with those of the model group(P<0. 05).Conclusion EA treatment can delay the atrophy of gastrocnemius muscle(skeletal muscle)in diabetes rats possibly by improving the degradation of myosin heavy chain via regulating the expression of muscular MuRF1,Fbxo32,Myh2,Myh4 and Myh7 mRNAs.

      摘要:ObjectiveTo observe the effect of electroacupuncture(EA) at"Zusanli"(ST36) and"Xuanzhong"(GB39)on joint inflammatory reactions and serum matrix metalloproteinase-3(MMP-3)and MMP-9 contents in rats with adjuvant arthritis(AA),so as to explore its mechanism underlying improvement of AA.MethodsForty male SD rats were randomly divided into control,model,acupoint and non-acupoint groups(n=10 in each group). The arthritis model was established by hypodermic injection of complete Freund's adjuvant(0. 1 mL)into the bilateral footpads.EA(2 Hz,3 V)was applied to bilateral ST36 and GB39 or two non-acupoints(5 mm left to ST36 and GB39)for 15 min,once every other day for a total of 8 times. The arthritis index score was evaluated according to the severity of local erythema and swelling of the ankle joint,plantar joint,toe joint and foot metacarpal joint(0-4 points). The inflammatory conditions of the ankle joint were observed by H. E. staining,and the contents of serum MMP-3 and MMP-9 were assayed by ELISA.ResultsThe arthritis index score and serum concentrations of MMP-3 and MMP-9 were significantly increased in the model group relevant to the control group(P<0. 01),and obviously decreased after EA intervention on the 18 thday(P<0. 01). The therapeutic effect of acupoint EA was notably superior to non-acupoint EA in down-regulating the arthritis index score and serum MMP-3 and MMP-9 concentrations(P<0. 01). Under light microscope,marked proliferation of the synovial cells,inflammatory cell infiltration and increase of newly blood vessels were observed in the ankle joint of the model group,which was relatively milder in the acupoint group.Conclusionacupoint EA intervention can significantly alleviate the inflammatory reaction of AA rats,which may be related to its effects in reducing the levels of serum MMP-3 and MMP-9.

      摘要:ObjectiveTo observe the impact of"Tongyuan"(regulating the Governor Vessel to tranquilize mental activities,conducting qi back to its origin)acupuncture treatment on cough reflex,pulmonary infection and swallowing function in stroke patients undergoing tracheotomy.MethodsSeventy-four cerebral stroke patients with tracheotomy were randomly allocated to scalp acupuncture and"Tongyuan"acupuncture groups(n=37 in each group). All the patients of the two groups received basic treatment,including treatment of primary diseases,routine nursing,respiratory muscle training,physical therapy,acupuncture of Chize(LU5),Quchi(LI11),Hegu(LI4),Weizhong(BL40),Zusanli(ST36). In addition,for patients of the scalp acupuncture group,the middle 2/5 of Dingnieqianxiexian(MS6),the middle 2/5 of Dingniehouxiexian(MS7)and Dingpangerxian(MS9)on the contralateral side of lesions were punctured with filiform needles. For patients of the"Tongyuan"acupuncture group,Baihui(GV20),Zhongwan(GV12),Guanyuan(CV4),Qihai(CV6),Tianshu(ST25),Feishu(BL13),Pishu(BL20)were needled. The treatment in both groups lasted30 minutes each time,once daily,6 times a week for 4 weeks. The cough reflex grading score(CRGS,assessed according to cough,independent expectoration,sputum suction),clinical pulmonary infection score(CPIS,assessed according to the body temperature,white blood cell count,airway secretion in 24 h,PaO2/FiO2,infiltration status,cultured pathogenic bacteria),and swallowing function were evaluated by a researcher who was blinded to the grouping and treatment procedures. The success rate of extubation was calculated in a week at the end of treatments.ResultsAfter the treatment,the CRGS and CPIS of both groups were apparently decreased in comparison with their own pre-treatment(P<0. 05),suggesting an improvement of the cough reflex and pulmonary infection. Regarding the swallowing function,of the two 37 cases in the scalp acupuncture and"Tongyuan"acupuncture groups,9(24. 3%)and 19(51. 4%)experienced marked improvement,12(32. 5%)and 14(37. 8%)were effective,and 16(43. 2%)and 4(10. 8%)failed in the treatment,with the effective rate being 56. 8% and 89. 2%,respectively. In regard to the successful extubation,of the two 37 cases in the scalp acupuncture and"Tongyuan"acupuncture groups,5(13. 5%)and 11(29. 8%)had a marked improvement,10(27. 0%)and 18(48. 6%)were effective,and 22(59. 5%)and 8(21. 6%)failed,with the effective rate being 40. 5%and 78. 4%,respectively. The therapeutic effect of"Tongyuan"acupuncture was significantly superior to that of scalp acupuncture in decreasing CRGS and CPIS,and in improving the swallowing function and raising the rate of successful extubation(P<0. 05).Conclusion"Tongyuan"acupuncture treatment can improve cough reflex to remove sputum,reduce pulmonary infection,enhance swallowing function,and raise the success rate of extubation in stroke patients,which is better than scalp acupuncture.

      摘要:ObjectiveTo investigate the effective of acupoint thread-embedding therapy for ataxia children with cerebral palsy.MethodsA total of 70 ataxia children with cerebral palsy and a Gross Motor Function Measure(GMFM,Dimension B)score of <35 were enrolled and randomly divided into thread-embedding group and control group,with 35 children in each group,and 2 children in the thread-embedding group were lost to follow-up. The children in the control group were given routine rehabilitation treatment,including physical therapy,spleen-strengthening,kidney-nourishing,and Governor Vessel-regulating massage,vibroacoustic therapy,and scalp acupuncture,and those in the thread-embedding group were given thread-embedding therapy at the acupoints of Jianyu(LI15),Jianliao(SJ14),Tianzong(SI11),Tianshu(ST25),and HuatuoJiaji points(C4,L1 and L4)in addition to the treatment in the control group,with 6-8 acupoints selected each time,once a week. Each course of treatment was 4 weeks,with an interval of one week between two courses of treatment,and the children were treated for 3 courses. Level of sitting scale(LSS),incurvation reflex,and GMFM score were recorded to evaluate the improvement in sitting ability and clinical outcome.ResultsBoth groups had significant improvements in LSS,incurvation reflex,and GMFM(Dimension A and B)score after treatment(P<0. 01),and the thread-embedding group had significantly greater improvements than the control group(P<0. 01).The thread-embedding group had a significantly higher overall response rate than the control group(90. 9%[30/33]vs68. 5% [24/35],P<0. 01).ConclusionIn addition to routine rehabilitation treatment,acupoint thread-embedding therapy can effectively suppress primitive reflex in ataxia children with cerebral palsy and significantly promote their sitting ability,and therefore,it is an effective acupuncture treatment method for ataxia children with cerebral palsy.

      摘要:ObjectiveTo investigate the short-term and long-term clinical effects of otopoint pellet-pressing combined with medication in the treatment of patients with migraine without aura and its impact on plasma 5-hydroxytryptamine(5-HT) and calcitonin gene-related peptide(CGRP) contents.MethodsPatients with migraine without aura were randomly divided into medication(control)group(n=48)and otopoint pellet-pressing plus medication(treatment)group(n=49). Patients of the control group were given oral Flunarizine capsules(10 mg/time)twice a day,and those of the treatment group received same dosage of Flunarizine and pellet-pressing of otopoints Nao(Brain),Nie(Temporal),Shenmen(Shenmen),Jiaogan(Sympathy)and Pizhixia(Subcortex),2 min/point,3 times a day,simultaneously. The treatment was conducted for 1 month. The short-term and long-term clinical effects were evaluated according to Yang and colleagues' methods,and"Guiding principles for clinical research of new TCM drugs(trial)". The contents of plasma 5-HT and CGRP were detected by ELISA.ResultsAfter one month's treatment,of the 48 and 49 patients in the control and treatment groups,10(20.83%)and 17(34.69%) were under control,19(39.59%)and 23(46.94%) experienced marked improvement,10(20.83%)and 7(14.29%)were effective,9(18.75%)and 2(4.08%)failed,with the total effective rates being 81.25% and 95.92%,respectively. Six months' follow-up survey showed that of the 48 and 49 patients in the control and treatment groups,4(8.33%)and 11(22.45%)were under control,20(41.67%)and 24(48.98%)experienced marked improvement,11(22.92%)and 9(18.37%)were effective,and 13(27.08%)and 5(10.20%)failed,with the total effective rates being 72.92% and 89.80%,respectively. The number of headache attacks,duration of each attack and the degree of headache were significantly decreased after 1 and 6 months' treatment in both groups in comparison with their own pre-treatment(P<0.05). The contents of plasma 5-HT at the time-points of 1 and 6 months were markedly increased(P<0.05),and those of plasma CGRP at the two time points markedly decreased in both groups in comparison with their own pre-treatment(P<0.05). The therapeutic effects of the treatment group were obviously superior to those of the control group in lowering the number of headache attacks,duration of each attack and the degree of headache and plasma CGRP content,as well as in increasing plasma 5-HT levels after 1 and 6 months' treatment(P<0.05).ConclusionOtopoint pellet-pressing combined with oral administration of Flunarizine can significantly improve the clinical symptoms in patients with migraine without aura,and possess a stable long-term clinical effect,which may be associated with its effect in increasing plasma 5-HT and decreasing CGRP levels.

      摘要:ObjectiveTo assess the therapeutic effect and safety of fire needle therapy in the treatment of herpes zoster pain.MethodsWe collected randomized controlled trials about treatment of herpes zoster pain mainly by fire needle therapy(published from the date of establishment of each database to Dec 1 of 2018)from databases of CNKI,Wanfang,VIP,Chinese Biomedical Document Service System(SinoMed),PubMed,Embase,Cochrane Library by using key words of"fire needle""burnt needle""red-hot needle""herpes zoster""postherpetic neuralgia"and"herpetic neuralgia". Then,we conducted Meta-analysis and sequential analysis about the outcomes of studies met our inclusion criteria using RevMan5.3.5 and TSA0.9.10 Beta softwares and employed GRADE profiler 3.6.1 to grade the quality of evidence.ResultsA total of 25 studies including 2 024 patients were brought into the present analysis. Outcomes of the qualitative analysis indicated that the fire needle therapy has a higher effective rate than the western medicine group. Meta-analysis showed that after the treatment mainly with fire needle therapy,1)the VAS score is evidently lower[WMD=-0.96,95% CI(-1.22,-0.71),P<0.000 01],2)the duration of 30% pain relief is obviously shorter[WMD=-1.82,95% CI(-2.46,-1.18),P<0.000 01],3)the duration of pain is evidently shorter{fire needle combined with electroacupuncture[WMD=-11.53,95% CI(-14.57,-8.48),P<0.000 01];fire needle combined with cupping[WMD=-4.75,95% CI(-7.99,-1.51),P=0.004];pure fire needle therapy[WMD=-1.82,95% CI(-2.46,-1.18),P<0.000 01],and 4)the occurrence rate of post-herpetic neuralgia is considerably lower[RR=0.16,95% CI(0.09,0.30),P<0.000 01]. The occurrence and management of adverse events were not mentioned in all the included studies,suggesting no safety problem of the therapy,but the publication bias has not been taken seriously.ConclusionIn the treatment of herpes zoster pain,fire needle as the main treatment approach can significantly relieve pain,shorten the pain duration,and reduce the incidence of post-herpetic neuralgia.

      摘要:Ischemic stroke is a major cause of permanent disability and death in adults,and electroacupuncture(EA)intervention has a positive role in improving neurological function in patients with ischemic stroke through a series of complex processes. In the present paper,we make a review about the development of researches on the involvement of micro-ribonucleic acid(miRNA)in ischemic stroke from excitatory amino acid toxicity,oxidative stress,inflammatory response,apoptosis and necrosis,and particularly sum up outcomes of researches about the roles of miRNAs in EA-induced improvement of neurological function in experimental cerebral ischemia animals. EA treatment can 1) balance levels of miRNAs(such as mir-126 and mir-328,etc.)to promote angiogenesis of ischemic cerebral cortex tissue by regulating expression of vascular endothelial growth factor family genes and proteins;2)promote nerve regeneration by upregulating serum miR-124 and hippocampal miR-132 expression to possibly facilitate cerebral repair and reduce cognitive dysfunction respectively via related proteins;3)reduce cerebral edema via modulating expression of some miRNAs to control expression of aquaporin,matrix metalloproteinases,etc. and 4)suppress inflammatory response via up-regulating expression of miRNAs to inhibit expression of NF-κB,TNF-α,etc. in the local cerebral tissue. As a result,the neurological function is bettered after EA intervention.

    • Progress of researches on non-specific effect of acupuncture

      摘要:Acupuncture therapy is effective in the treatment of quite a lot of clinical conditions. Accumulating evidence demonstrates that acupuncture therapy not only has specific therapeutic effects,but also in a large part has nonspecific effects such as the patient's and/or acupuncture practitioner's"unity of form and spirit","treatment experience and environment"and"expectations and trust",etc. In the present article,we make a review about progresses of recent researches on the non-specific effect of acupuncture therapy and its influencing factors from 1)placebo acupuncture,2)expectancy effect,3)Hawthorne effect,and 4)Pygmalion effect. The placebo acupuncture intervention may enhance the therapeutic effect by triggering the cutaneous somatosensory afferents,brainstem,hypothalamus,limbic system,etc. to produce cognitive and emotional responses. The patient's expectancy and belief about acupuncture analgesia are associated with activities of the spino-thalamo-cortical pathway,cingulate gyrus,endogenous opioid system,emotional and reward circuits,etc. Regarding the Hawthorne effect and Pygmalion effect,it is supposed that the patients' behavioral tendency changes and higher expectations for acupuncture treatment may produce a positive impact on the outcomes of treatment. In-depth exploration of the influencing factors and the therapeutic targets of acupuncture treatment will further improve clinical effect,and serve the patients better.

      摘要:The book titled Chun Hua Qiu Shi(Glorious Flowers in Spring and Rich Fruits in Autumn)by Prof. HAN Ji-sheng and WAN You,published by Peking University Medical Press in 2018,describes the research on acupuncture by HAN Ji-sheng and his team over the past 50 years,including both happy and hard times. With efforts over half a century,Prof. HAN has made internationally recognized achievements in the basic science of acupuncture and has played a significant role in promoting Chinese acupuncture to the world. This article attempts to explain why Prof. HAN can become a model scientist with great achievements from an ordinary youth in south China.
