      摘要:Objective To observe the effect of electroacupuncture at "Baihui"(GV20) and "Shenshu"(BL23) on the expression of autophagy-related proteins in the hippocampus of rats with Alzheimer's disease(AD),so as to explore its underlying mechanisms on improvement of AD. Methods Forty-eight male SD rats were randomly divided into blank control group, model group, electroacupuncture group and sham electroacupuncture group, with 12 rats in each group. The AD rat model was establish by intraperitoneal injection of D-galactose for 6 weeks. Rats in the electroacupuncture group received electroacupuncture(50 Hz, 1 mA)at GV20 and BL23 for 20 min each time after daily intraperitoneal injection. Rats in the sham electroacupuncture group received acupuncture at the local skin of GV20 and BL23 without electricity. After the intervention, Morris water maze and open field test were used to evaluate the learning and cognitive ability of rats in each group. The transmission electron microscope was used to observe the numerical density of synaptic in hippocampus, and the immunohistochemical staining was used to observe the paired helical filament protein-1(PHF-1) in the hippocampus. Western blot was used to detected the expression of autophagy-related proteins phosphoinositide-3-kinase(PI3 K), protein kinase B(AKT), phosphorylated AKT(p-AKT), mammalian target of rapamycin(mTOR) in the hippocampus. Results Compared with the blank control group, the escape latency of the rats in the model group increased from day 2 to day 5(P<0.01), and the ratio of the time through the quadrant of the original platform reduced(P<0.01), in the open field test the distance of exercise, the number of uprights and the rate of exercise time in the central area decreased(P<0.01), meanwhile the density of hippocampus synapses decreased(P<0.01), the positive expression of PHF-1 and the relative expression of PI3 K, AKT, p-AKT, and mTOR all increased(P<0.01). Compared with the model group, the escape latency of rats in the electroacupuncture group was shortened from day 2 to day 5(P<0.01), and the ratio of the time through the quadrant of the original platform meanwhile, the distance of the open field test, the number of uprights, and the rate of central area exercise time up-regulated(P<0.01), the numerical density of hippocampus synatic increased(P<0.01), the positive expression of PHF-1 and the relative expression of PI3 K, AKT, p-AKT, and mTOR all down-regulated(P<0.01). Compared with the model group, the expression of PI3 K in the sham electroacupuncture group decreased(P<0.05). Conclusion Electroacupuncture can improve learning and memory and cognitive impairment in AD rats, which may be associated with its effects in regulation of hippocampal autophagy and removal of neurofibrillary tangles by suppressing PI3 K/AKT/mTOR signaling pathway.

      摘要:Objective To investigate the effect of acupuncture or moxibustion of "Zusanli"(ST36) and "Guanyuan"(CV4) on expression of signal transducers and activators of transcription 3(STAT3) and hypoxia-inducible factor 1α(HIF-1α) in colonic tissue in ulcerative colitis(UC) mice. Methods Thirty-two male Kunming mice were randomly divided into control, model, acupuncture and moxibustion groups(n=8 in each group). The UC model was induced by free drinking of 3% Dextran Sodium Sulfate for 7 days. Acupuncture or moxibustion was applied to ST36 or CV4 for 15 min, once daily for 5 days. The severity of UC was monitored using the disease activity index(DAI) which includes evaluation of weight loss, stool consistency, and presence of fecal blood. Histopathological changes of the colon mucosa were observed by H.E. staining. Immunohistochemistry and Western blot were employed to detect the expression of STAT3 and HIF-1α proteins in the colon mucosa tissue. Results After modeling, the DAI, immunoactivity and expression of STAT3 and HIF-1α in the colonic tissue were significantly increased in the model group relevant to the control group(P<0.01,P<0.05). Compared with the model group, the levels of DAI, STAT3 and HIF-1α considerably decreased in both acupuncture and moxibustion groups(P<0.05), and without significant differences between the two intervention groups in the levels of DAI, STAT3 and HIF-1α after the intervention(P>0.05). H.E. staining of the colonic tissue showed damage and infiltration of inflammatory cells in the model group, and reduction of the submucosal edema and infiltrated inflammatory cells in the acupuncture and moxibustion groups. Conclusion Both acupuncture and moxibustion can improve UC in UC mice, which may be associated with its effects in down-regulating the expression of colonic STAT3 and HIF-1α proteins.

      摘要:Objective To observe the effect of electroacupuncture(EA) on bone mineral density(BMD) and expression of calcium transport-related receptors in ovariectomized rats, so as to explore its mechanisms underlying improvement of osteoporosis. Methods Thirty-two three-month female SD rats were randomly divided into control, sham operation, model and EA groups(n=8 in each group). The ovariectomy model was established by resection of bilateral ovaries. EA(2 Hz/15 Hz, 2 mA) was applied to "Guanyuan"(CV4)+"Sanyinjiao"(SP6) or "Shenshu"(BL23)+"Housanli"(ST36) alternatively for 20 min, once daily(except the weekends) for 12 weeks. BMD of the tibia and femur were detected by using a bone densitometer. The expression levels of transient receptor potential vanillic receptor 5(TRPV5), transient receptor potential vanillic receptor 6(TRPV6), sodium calcium exchanger 1(NCX1), membrane calcium adenosine triphosphate hydrolase(PMCA1 b), zonula occludens 1(ZO-1), occludin and claudin in intestinal mucosa were detected by quantitative real-time PCR and Western blot, respectively. Results Following modeling, BMD of both tibia and femur, and expression levels of TRPV5, PMCA1 b, ZO-1, occludin and claudin mRNAs were significantly decreased in the model group compared with the control and sham operation groups(P<0.05, P<0.01),while the mRNAs levels of TRPV6 and NCX1 in the model group were increased(P<0.01). After the treatment, BMD of both tibia and femur, and expression levels of TRPV5, PMCA1 b, ZO-1 and occludin mRNAs were significantly increased(P<0.01,P<0.05),and TRPV6 and NCX1 were significantly decreased(P<0.01,P<0.05) in the EA group than those in the model group. Compared with the control and sham operation groups, protein expression levels of TRPV5, PMCA1 b, ZO-1, occludin and claudin in the model group were significantly decreased(P<0.05), while the protein levels of TRPV6 and NCX1 in the model group were increased(P<0.05). After EA intervention, modeling-induced decrease of TRPV5, PMCA1 b, ZO-1, occludin and claudin protein levels and increase of TRPV6 and NCX1 protein levels were all completely reversed in the EA group relevant to the model group(P<0.05).Conclusion EA intervention can improve bone mineral density and up-regulate the mRNA and protein expression of TRPV5, PMCA1 b, ZO-1 and occludin, which may be one of the mechanisms of acupuncture in the treatment of osteoporosis.

      摘要:Objective To investigate the effect of manual acupuncture stimulation of acupoints at different spinal nerve segments on uterine motility and the complicated adrenergic and cholinergic receptors. Methods Eighteen adult non-pregnant SD rats were used in the present study. The contractive activities of the uterus were measured by using a pressure transducer which was connected to an inserted water-filled balloon in the uterus via a PE tube at one end and an amplifier at the other end. Manual acupuncture needle was applied to "Zigong"(EX-CA1),"Huiyin"(CV1), "Xuehai "(SP10) and "Taichong "(LR3) acupoints located at the same or adjacent spinal nerve segments of the uterus, and to "Neiguan"(PC6) situated at the distant spinal nerve segment at about 2 Hz for 1 min, followed by observing changes of the uterine contractility. After acupuncture, α-adrenoceptor antagonist phentolamine(0.5 mg/kg, n=9) or cholinergic muscarinic(M) receptor antagonist atropine(0.5 mg/kg,n=9) was given to the rats of different acupoints respectively through tail vein, followed by observing changes of the uterine automatic systolic pressure difference(value of systolic pressure peak minuses the trough value) and frequency after manual acupuncture stimulation as well as after blocking the activities of α-adrenoceptors and M receptors, separately. Results After acupuncture stimulation of EX-CA1, CV1, SP10 and LR3, but not PC6, the systolic pressure difference and frequency of the uterus were signi-ficantly increased(P<0.05,P<0.001, P<0.01). Following intravenous injection of phentolamine, both the systolic pressure difference and frequency had no marked changes after acupuncture at the 5 acupoints(P>0.05). After intravenous injection of atropine, the uterine systolic pressure difference and frequency were markedly decreased compared with the basic values before acupuncture stimulation(P<0.001), but had no obvious changes after acupuncture at the 5 acupoints at both the same and distant spinal segments to the uterus(P>0.05). Conclusion Manual acupuncture stimulation of acupoints at the same and adjacent spinal segments can promote the contractility of uterus in normal rats, which is realized by activating both α-adrenoceptor and cholinergic M receptors.

      摘要:Objective To investigate the expression of apoptosis-related proteins Fas and FasL in the brain tissue of rats with traumatic brain injury and the effect of electroacupuncture on the expression of Fas and FasL, so as to explore the effective time window of electroacupuncture in the treatment of traumatic brain injury. Methods Sprague-Dawley rats were randomly divided into blank group, sham-operation group, model group, and electroacupuncture treatment groups 1, 2, and 3. Traumatic brain injury was induced by the modified Feeney free-fall impact device, and for the rats in the electroacupuncture treatment groups 1, 2, and 3, electroacupuncture started at 4 hours and on days 3 and 7, respectively, after modeling and lasted to day 14. The Morris water maze test was used to evaluate learning and memory ability, and immunofluorescence assay and Western blot were used to observe the changes in the expression of Fas and FasL in traumatic brain tissue. Results Compared with the blank group and the sham-operation group, the model group had a lower percentage of time spent in the target quadrant from the 3(rd) day folowing modeling; after electroacupuncture intervention, the electroacupuncture treatment groups showed a gradual increase in the time spent in the target quadrant, and on day 7,10 and 14, electroacupuncture treatment group 1 had a significantly higher percentage than the model group(P<0.05). On day 14, electroacupuncture treatment group 2 had a significantly higher percentage than the model group(P<0.05). After electroacupuncture intervention, all groups except the blank group and the sham-operation group had increases in the expression of Fas and FasL in brain tissue, which reached the highest level on day 7 after modeling and then tended to decrease; compared with electroacupuncture treatment groups 2 and 3 and the model group, electroacupuncture treatment group 1 had significant reductions in the expression of Fas and FasL(P<0.05, P<0.01); compared with electroacupuncture treatment group 3 and the model group, electroacupuncture treatment group 2 had significant decreases in the expression of Fas and FasL(P<0.05) on day 14 after modeling; compared with the model group, electroacupuncture treatment group 3 had significant reductions in the expression of Fas and FasL in brain tissue on day 14 after modeling(P<0.05). Conclusion Early electroacupuncture intervention can regulate the apoptosis receptor pathway by down-regulating Fas and FasL to exert a therapeutic effect on traumatic brain injury and help with the recovery of cognition and memory ability after traumatic brain injury.

      摘要:Objective To observe the efficacy of electroacupuncture(EA) plus passive stretch exercise in the treatment of disused atrophy of gastrocnemius and soleus muscles in mice. Methods Fifty C57 BL/6 mice were randomly and equally divided into 5 groups: blank control, model, passive stretch exercise(exercise), EA and EA+exercise groups. The muscular atrophy model was established by fixing the gastrocnemius and soleus muscles with plaster immobilization(by putting the right leg into a plastic vial and then twining the vial with medical plaster bandage from the ankle upwards to the thigh and groin to maintain the knee-joint flexion and ankle joint plantar flexion for 7 days). EA(2 Hz/100 Hz, 1 mA)was applied to bilateral "Zusanli"(ST36) for 10 min, once a day for 4 weeks. For mice with the passive exercise, the plastic vial was removed first, followed by pulling out the hindleg to seize the toes to stretch them until the right hindleg is fully extended, then, pushed the leg towards the body. The procedures were repeated once again and again for 10 min. The exercise was conducted once daily, for 4 weeks. The cross-sectional area of fast and slow muscle fibers of the soleus and gastrocnemius was measured under electronic microscope after ATPase histochemical stain and the expression of slow skeletal muscle troponin(TNNI1) and fast skeletal muscle troponin(TNNI2) in the soleus and gastrocnemius was detected by Western blot. Results Compared with the blank control group, the cross-sectional areas of the fast and slow muscle fibers of the soleus and gastrocnemius muscles were significantly decreased in the model group(P<0.05, P<0.01). Following the interventions, the cross-sectional areas of the fast and slow muscle fibers of soleus muscle in the EA+exercise group, and those of the fast and slow muscle fibers of the gastrocnemius muscle in the EA and EA+exercise groups, and the expression levels of TNNI1 and TNNI2 proteins in the gastrocnemius muscle of the EA+exercise group were significantly increased in comparison with the model group(P<0.05, P<0.01).Conclusion EA combined with passive stretch exercise can promote the recovery of the soleus and gastrocnemius muscles in disused muscle atrophy mice, which may be related to its effect in up-regulating the expression of TNNI1 and TNNI2 proteins.

      摘要:Objective To observe the effect of acupuncture on expression of transforming growth factor-β1(TGF-β1) in lacrimal gland of rabbits with dry eye, so as to explore its underlying mechanism in improving dry eye. Methods Healthy male New Zealand rabbits were randomly assigned to 5 groups(n=6 in each group), namely, blank group, model group, western medicine group, acupuncture group and sham acupuncture group. The dye eye rabbit model was estabilished by subcutaneous injection of Scopolamine Hydrobromide solution for 21 days. After modeling, rabbits in the western medicine group were treated with Flumirone eye drops in their eyes 3 times a day, one drop each time. Rabbits of the acupuncture group reveived electroacupuncture(4 Hz/20 Hz, 1 mA) at "Cuanzhu"(BL2) and "Tongziliao"(GB1) for 15 min, and received acupuncture at "Jingming"(BL1), "Taiyang"(EX-HN5) and "Sizhukong"(TE23) for 15 min, once a day. Rabbits of the sham acupuncture group received blunt acupuncture at the surface of the same acupoints once a day. All the treatments were conducted for 14 days. The changes of tear flow, tear film break-up time(BUT) and lacrimal gland morphology in each group were observed. The expression of TGF-β1 protein and mRNA in lacrimal gland were detected by Western blot and quantitative real-time fluorescence PCR respectively. Results Following modeling, except for the blank group, the tear flow and BUT in other 4 groups decreased significantly(P<0.01). Compared with their own pretreatment, the tear flow and BUT in western medicine group and acupuncture group increased after the treatment(P<0.05). Compared with the model group, the tear flow and BUT increased in the western medicine group and the acupuncture group(P<0.05). Atrophic lacrimal epithelial cells and the stroma of mucous membrane infiltrated by lymphocytes and plasma cells were found in rabbits of the model group and the sham acupuncture group. By contrast, in the western medicine group and the acupuncture group, the structure of lacrimal epithelial cells was basically normal, and the infiltration of lymphocytes and plasma cells were scattered in the stroma of mucous membrane. In comparison with the blank group, the expression of TGF-β1 protein and mRNA in lacrimal gland were significantly up-regulated in the model and sham acupuncture groups(P<0.01). Compared with the model group, the expression of TGF-β1 protein and mRNA were significantly down-regulated in the western medicine and acupuncture groups(P<0.01, P<0.05). Conclusion Acupuncture intervention can increase tear flow and BUT in rabbits with dry eye, which may be related to the regulation of TGF-β1 expression in lacrimal gland.

      摘要:Objective To provide a new method for investigating the histological characteristics of acupoints by obser-ving the microstructure of the lymphatic vessels in the skin tissue of "Taichong"(LR3) and "Yongquan"(KI1) regions. Methods Six male SD rats were used in the present study. The skin tissue of LR3 and KI1 from the hind foot were taken following transcardial perfusion with 4% paraformaldehyde. The skin tissues were cut into sagittal sections with a freezing microtome and stained by fluorescent immunohistochemistry with lymphatic vessel endothelial hyaluronan receptor 1(LYVE-1), calcitonin gene-related peptide(CGRP), and phalloidin for displaying the lymphatic vessels, nerve fibers, and blood vessels, separately. The samples were viewed and recorded using fluorescent microscope and laser scanning confocal microscope. Results In the skin tissue of LR3 and KI1 regions, the lymphatic vessels, nerve fibers, and blood vessels were labeled with LYVE-1, CGRP and phalloidin, respectively. The lymphatic capillaries were found to start from the enlarged blind end and distribute in the dermis and subcutaneous tissues with various forms, crisscrossing. Abundant blood capillaries at various thickness distributed around the lymphatic capillaries in a parallel or crossed pattern, intermingled with free nerve fibers. Conclusion The lymphatic capillaries, blood capillaries and nerve fibers extensively distribute in the skin tissues of LR3 and KI1 regions in rats, suggesting an involvement of the immunomodulation in the effects of acupuncture in pathological conditions, despite being not limited to the acupoint regions in the distribution of lymphatic capillaries.

      摘要:Objective To explore the therapeutic effect on incomplete eyelid in the patients with facial neuritis treated with the penetrating needling at Cuanzhu(BL2) and Yuyao(EX-HN4) combined with the perpendicular needling at Shenmai(BL62). Methods A total of 64 patients with facial neuritis, in compliance with the inclusion criteria, were randomized into a treatment group and a control group, with 32 cases in each. In the treatment group, the penetrating needling was applied to BL2 and EX-HN4 on the affected side, combined with the perpendicular needling at bilateral BL62. Besides, on the affected side, the penetrating needling was applied from Yangbai(GB14) toward four directions, named Shangxing(GV23), Touwei(ST8), Cuanzu(BL2) and Sizukong(TE23), the mutual penetrating needling was adopted between Dicang(ST4) and Jiache(ST6). Between Yingxiang(LI20) and Xiaguan(ST7), a row-arranged needling technique was applied. All of the needles were retained for 10 to 30 min in each treatment. The treatment was given once daily and the treatment for 10 days was as 1 course. A total of 2 courses of treatment were required. In the control group, prednisone acetate(30 mg/d), was administered consecutively for 5 days. Afterward, the dose was reduced to be 10 mg/d and the medication stopped after taking consecutively for 1 week. Muscular injection with vitamin B_(12)(0.5 mg) and B_1(0.1 mg) was given, once daily. 10 days later, vitamin B_1 was taken for oral administration, 10 mg each time, three times a day, for 10 days totally. Before and after the treatment, the clinical effect was compared between the two groups in terms of the analysis on the Hourse-Brackman(H-B) grade of facial nerve function, the distance between the upper and the lower eyelids, muscle strength, degree of eyelid closure and electromyogram(EMG). Results The total effective rate of treatment group was 96.9 %(31/32), better than 84.4%(27/32) in the control group(P<0.05). After treatment, in the treatment group, the distance between the upper and lower eyelids, the muscle strength, the degree of eyelid closure, the wave amplitude of motor nerve conduction and the latent period, as well as the blink reflex were all improved as compared with those before the treatment(P<0.01, P<0.05). In the control group, the distance between the upper and lower eyelids, the muscle strength, the degree of eyelid closure, the latent period of motor nerve conduction and the blink reflex were all improved as compared with those before the treatment(P<0.01, P<0.05). After the treatment, the results of the distance between the upper and lower eyelids, the muscle strength, the degree of eyelid closure, the wave amplitude of motor nerve conduction and the latent period, as well as the blink reflex in the treatment group were all better than those in the control group(P<0.05,P<0.01). Conclusion The treatment with the penetrating needling at Cuanzhu(BL2) and Yuyao(EX-HN4) combined with the perpendicular needling at Shenmai(BL62) greatly promotes the recovery of orbicularis oculi muscle in the patients with facial neuritis, reduces the complications and presents the satisfactory clinical effect.

      摘要:Objective To observe changes of microcirculation in the superficial regions of acupoints of the three Yin meridians of foot during the menstrual cycle in young college students, so as to provide experimental evidence for explaining the saying of traditional Chinese medicine that acupoints reflect the state of physiological and pathological activities of the internal organs. Methods Ninety healthy female volunteer college students were recruited in the present study. The subjects were asked to take a supine position on an examination couch to expose the Yuan-primary acupoints Taixi(KI3), Taibai(SP3) and Taichong(LR3), and Xi-cleft acupoints Shuiquan(KI5), Diji(SP8) and Zhongdu(LR6) which are related to the uterus of the three Yin meridians of foot, the crossing acupoints of the three Yin meridians of foot Sanyinjiao(SP6), non-specific acupoint of the Spleen meridian Xuehai(SP10), non-related meridian acupoint Xuanzhong(GB39) and non-meridian-non-acupoint(being at the same level of GB39, between the Stomach and Gallbladder meridians on the lateral aspect of the lower leg). The laser speckle blood flow imaging technique was used to detect the state of microcirculation(average blood perfusion volume) during menstrual, follicular, ovulatory and luteal phases.Results The average blood perfusion volume(ABPV) of the right SP8 region was significantly lower in the menstrual phase than in the ovulation and luteal phases(P<0.05), and in the follicular phase than in the ovulation phase(P<0.05). In the left LR6 region, the ABPV was obviously lower in the menstrual period than in the follicular, ovulation and luteal phases(P<0.05). In the SP8, SP6, KI3 and KI5 regions, the ABPV was significantly higher in each of the 4 phases on the left side than on the right side(P<0.05). In the right GB39, the ABPV in each of the 4 phases was apparently higher on the right side than on the left side(P<0.05). In the SP10 region, the ABPV was considerably higher on the left side than on the right side in the ovulation period(P<0.05). The ABPV of SP3 in the menstrual phase and that of the non-acupoint in the luteal phase were significantly higher on the right side than on the left side(P<0.05).Conclusion The blood perfusion of microcirculation in the superficial tissues of Xi-cleft acupoints SP8 and LR6 is obviously lower in the menstrual phase than in both of the ovulation and luteal phases in healthy young college students, which may specifically reflect the periodical activities of the uterus in the physiological state, and provide a basis of acupoint selection for menstrual healthy care.

      摘要:Through an analysis of the historical development of the concept of extra ordinary point, it is found that the terms of "Qi point" "extra ordinary point" "Loujing point" "extra meridian point" and "Bie point" used in the ancient medical books in the Yuan, Ming, and Qing Dynasties actually expressed two different concepts of "extra ordinary points with the magical effects" and "extra points other than the meridian points". The standardized term for the former concept should be "extra ordinary point"(Qi point for short), and the standardized term for the latter concept should be "extra meridian point", which is also called "Loujing point" and "Bie point". Since these two different concepts are not clarified in modern acupuncture textbooks, especially the misreading of "Jing Wai", no consensus has been reached on the definition of "extra ordinary point" and "extra meridian point", and the standardized terms have not been decided, which changed from "extra ordinary point" to "Qi point" and "extra point" and recently returned to "extra ordinary point". These confusions in textbooks have a direct impact on the determination of the related acupuncture terms used in national and international standards.

      摘要:Objective To systematically review the effects of moxibustion on serum cytokines in experimental animals with rheumatoid arthritis. Methods PubMed, Embase, Web of Science, The Cochrane Library, CNKI, VIP, Wanfang Data, and CBM were searched for animal experiments on moxibustion intervention for rheumatoid arthritis. Related data were extracted, and RevMan 5.3 was used to perform a meta-analysis of outcome measures, including serum tumor necrosis factor-α(TNF-α), interleukin-1(IL-1), interleukin-6(IL-6), vascular endothelial growth factor(VEGF), interleukin-17(IL-17), interleukin-2(IL-2), interferon-γ(IFN-γ), receptor activator of nuclear factor-kappa B ligand(RANKL), transforming growth factor-β(TGF-β), and degree of swelling of diseased joint. Results A total of 18 studies were included. The detection methods included radioimmunoassay and ELISA and the experimental animal species included rats and rabbits. The studies on serum TNF-α and degree of swelling of diseased joint had publication bias. Meta-analysis showed that the moxibustion group had significant reductions in the serum levels of TNF-α, IL-1, IL-2, IL-6, VEGF, IL-17, and RANKL, significant increases in the serum levels of TGF-β and IFN-γ, and a significant reduction in the degree of swelling of diseased joints in model animals. Conclusion Moxibustion can effectively regulate levels of the serum cytokines in experimental animals of rheumatoid arthritis and thus reduce inflammatory response and alleviate the swelling of diseased joints.

      摘要:Chronic hypertension evoked aberrant myocardial remodeling is the main reason for progressive death from heart failure. It is of great clinical significance to find effective prevention and treatment methods to block this pathological process. It has been shown that imbalance of the autonomic nervous system(ANS) induced by chronic hypertension, i.e., hyper-excitation of sympathetic nerve system and suppression of parasympathetic(vagal) nerve system, activates immune cells-mediated inflammatory responses, and exacerbates the pathological remodeling of cardiac tissue. Except the negative inotropic outcomes, excitation of vagal nerves also has an anti-inflammatory effect which is mediated by activating the cholinergic anti-inflammatory pathway(CAIP). Previous studies showed that electroacupuncture(EA) could exert anti-hypertensive and systematic anti-inflammatory effects by increasing vagal activity. In addition, preliminary study from our lab demonstrated that EA was able to alleviate the pathological progress from hypertension to cardiac hypertrophy. However, the potential role of CAIP in restoring hypertension induced aberrant myocardial remodeling is still unknown. Herein, based on the alteration of ANS function in hypertension and EA's impact on vagal activity, we propose novel research ideas that EA could attenuate the pathological process of hypertension induced abnormal myocardial remodeling via activating CAIP.

      摘要:As a characteristic therapy in traditional Chinese medicine, acupuncture has shown potential advantages in anti-tumor therapy, and one of the therapeutic effects of acupuncture is to improve the immunosuppressive conditions in patients with tumor. Based on the immunoregulatory effect of acupuncture, this article summarized the mechanism of acupuncture in regulating tumor immune status from the following aspects: stimulating the activation of natural killer cells, increasing the number of CD8+ T cells, and adjusting the balance between T helper 1 cells and T helper 2 cells and between regulatory T cells and T helper 17 cells. With reference to existing evidence, we believe that acupuncture can regulate the body's immunosuppressive conditions through a variety of targets, but further clinical and basic studies are needed to clarify its regulatory effect on tumor immune microenvironment and related mechanism of action.

      摘要:Gastrointestinal motility dysfunction is not only a pathogenic factor but also a pathological manifestation. The authors summarize the recent studies on the mechanism of acupuncture and moxibustion in regulating gastrointestinal motility and analyze the effect of acupuncture and moxibustion on the brain-vagus-enteric nervous system, interstitial cells of Cajal, gastrointestinal peptides, gastrointestinal smooth muscle, and signaling pathways. The authors also put forward some suggestions for future research, including the research centering on gastrointestinal motility to explore the role of acupuncture and moxibustion in regulating gastrointestinal motility for disease prevention and treatment, specificity of acupoints, and dual-directional regulation of acupuncture and moxibustion, and the research focusing on intestinal microflora and influential factors for excitability of enteric neurons to explore the potential mechanism of acupuncture and moxibustion in regulating gastrointestinal motility, in order to provide a reference for future research.
