摘要:ObjectiveTo observe the effect of electroacupuncture (EA) of “Zusanli” (ST36) and “Sanyinjiao” (SP6) on cancer pain and concomitant negative emotion in cancer pain model mice, and to explore its molecular mechanisms in the basolateral amygdala (BLA) by using transcriptomics techniques.MethodsC57BL/6 mice were randomized into sham operation, model and EA groups, with 10 mice in each group. The cancer pain model was established by injecting PBS suspension containing Lewis lung cancer cells into the femur. The mice in the EA group received EA stimulation(1 mA, 2 Hz) on ST36 and SP6 from the 10th day after modeling, 20 min per day for 12 successive days. The bone damage of the distal femur was observed with X-ray and H.E. staining, respectively. The mechanical pain threshold (MPT) was detected by using von Frey. The depression-like behavior was detected by using sucrose-preference test (sucrose preference index in 12 h), and the immobility (feeling of despair) duration of forced swimming within 4 min. The BLA tissue was extracted for RNA sequencing (RNA library construction, and screening differential gene profiling by transcriptomic sequencing) and bioinformatics analysis. The real-time PCR was used to validate the mRNA expression of differentially expressed genes: tumor necrosis factor superfamily 8 (Tnfsf8), bone marrow stromal cell antigen 1 (Bst1), prodynorphin (Pdyn) and voltage-gated sodium channelβ4 (Scn4b).ResultsH.E. staining and X-ray showed significant bone damage in the distal femur in cancer pain mice. In contrast to the sham operation group, the MPT on the 1st , 4th,7th , 10th, 14th and 21st day after modeling and sucrose preference index were significantly decreased (P<0.001, P<0.000 1), and the immobility time of the forced swimming was considerably increased in the model group (P<0.001). In contrast to the model group, the MPT values on the 14th and 21st day and sucrose preference index were obviously increased (P<0.000 1, P<0.05), and the immobility time was strikingly decreased in the EA group (P<0.01). RNA sequencing showed that a total of 404 differentially expressed genes (205 up-regulated, 199 down-regulated) were screened in the model group compared with the sham operation group, and a total of 329 differentially expressed genes (206 up-regulated and 123 down-regulated) were screened in the EA group compared with the model group. Venn diagram analysis of the differentially expressed genes showed that 45 up-regulated and 28 down-regulated genes in the model group were completely reversed by EA. Gene Ontology (GO) and Kyoto Encyclopedia of Genes and Genomes (KEGG) analyses of the screened differentially expressed genes revealed that the above differential genes were mainly enriched in the ligand receptor activity, cytokine receptor binding, and cytokine activity related to neuro-inflammation, as well as in neuropeptide signaling pathways related to neuronal excitability, and calcium ion mediated signal transduction. The analysis of KEGG pathway showed that the differentially expressed genes were mainly enriched in the inflammation-related pathways, such as interleukin-17 pathway. Validation analysis of the differentially expressed genes showed that the expression levels of Tnfsf8 and Bst1 were significantly up-regulated in the model group compared with the sham operation group (P<0.01, P<0.05), and down-regulated by EA (P<0.01, P<0.05), while the expression levels of Pdyn and Scn4b were down-regulated in the model group in comparison with the sham operation group (P<0.01), and up-regulated by EA (P<0.05, P<0.01), which was consistent with the changing trend of the gene sequencing results.ConclusionAcupuncture of ST36 and SP6 can significantly relieve cancer pain and concomitant negative emotion in cancer pain mice, which may be related to its functions in alleviating neuro-inflammation and relieving the abnormal activities of specific neurons in the BLA.
摘要:ObjectiveTo investigate the impact of combined treatment of colorectal cancer (CRC) with electroacupuncture (EA) and capeOX (combined administration of fluorouracil, oxaliplatin and capecitabine) on the tumor volume, weight, spleen coefficient, apoptosis and ferroptosis of tumor tissue, and liver and kidney functions in nude mice with CRC, so as to explore its mechanisms underlying inhibiting CRC and alleviating toxic reactions of capeOX.MethodsFemale Balb/c nude mice were randomly assigned to 3 groups: model, capeOX, and EA+capeOX, with 8 nude mice in each group. The CRC model was established by subcutaneous injection of colon cancer cells at the right inguinal region. Nude mice of the capeOX group received intraperitoneal injection of oxaliplatin for 1 day and gavage of capecitabine from day 2 to day 7. EA (1 mA, 2 Hz/100 Hz) was applied to bilateral “Zusanli” (ST36) for 20 min, once daily for 7 days. During the interven-tion, the tumor volume and weight were measured every day, and at the end of intervention, the weight of the tumor tissue and spleen were measured, with tumor volume difference and spleen coefficient calculated. The proportion of apoptotic cells was measured by flow cytometry, and the contents of serum malondialdehyde (MDA), alanine aninotransferase (ALT), aspartate aminotransferase (AST), blood urea nitrogen (BUN), and creatinine (Cr) were detected using ELISA. The expression level of glutathione peroxidase 4 (GPX4, a key regulator for ferroptosis) protein of the tumor tissue was determined using Western blot.ResultsCompared to the model group, both the capeOX group and EA+capeOX group showed a decrease in the tumor volume (on day 3 and 4 in the capeOX group, and from day 2 to 7 in the EA+capeOX group) and body weight (P<0.05, on day 3 to 7 in the EA+capeOX group and on day 2 to 7 in the capeOX group), being evidently lower in the tumor volume on day 7 in the EA+capeOX than in the capeOX group (P<0.05), and evidently higher in the body weight on day 6 and 7 in the EA+capeOX group than in the capeOX group (P<0.05). In comparison with the model group, the tumor volume difference, tumor weight and spleen coefficient in both capeOX and EA+capeOX groups were significantly decreased (P<0.05), and MDA content in EA+capeOX group was significantly decreased (P<0.05), while the contents of ALT, BUN and Cr in the capeOX group, the proportion of apoptotic cells in both capeOX and EA+capeOX groups, and the GPX4 expression level in the EA+capeOX group were all significantly increased (P<0.05). The tumor volume difference, tumor weight, and contents of MDA, ALT, AST, BUN and Cr in the EA+capeOX group were markedly lower than in the capeOX group (P<0.05), while the spleen coefficient, proportion of apoptotic cells and GPX4 expression level in the EA+capeOX group were markedly higher than those in the capeOX group (P<0.05).ConclusionEA of ST36 can enhance the effect of capeOX in inhibiting colorectal cancer growth in nude mice with CRC, which may be related with its functions in promoting tumor cell apoptosis, inhibiting ferroptosis, and modulating immune tolerance. In addition, EA can lower the side effects of capeOX in hematopoietic and immune, liver, and kidney functions.
摘要:ObjectiveTo investigate the mechanism of the effect of acupuncture and moxibustion on improving liver injury in cisplatin (DDP) induced liver injury model mice by observing the changes of inositol-requiring enzyme (IRE) -1 signaling pathway.MethodsForty KM mice were randomly divided into control, model, acupuncture and moxibustion groups, with 10 mice in each group. The liver injury model was replicated by intraperitoneal injection of DDP (10 mg/kg). In the acupuncture group and the moxibustion group, acupuncture and moxibustion were performed at “Dazhui”(GV14), and bilateral “Ganshu”(BL18), “Shenshu” (BL23), and “Zusanli”(ST36), respectively for 6 min, once per day for 7 d. The apoptosis of hepatocytes was detected by TUNEL staining. The expression of phosphorylation(p)-IRE-1α, glucose-regulated protein (Grp) 78 and cysteine aspartic protease (Caspase) -12 in liver tissue were detected by immunohistochemistry and Western blot, respectively. The expression levels of Grp78 and Caspase-12 mRNA in liver tissue were detected by quantitative real-time PCR.ResultsCompared with the control group, the apoptosis rate of hepatocytes was increased (P<0.05), the positive expression and protein expression of p-IRE-1α, Grp78, and Caspase-12 were increased (P<0.05), the expression levels of Grp78 and Caspase-12 mRNA were increased (P<0.05) in the model group. Compared with the model group, all these indicators showed opposite trends (P<0.05) in the acupuncture and moxibustion groups.ConclusionAcupuncture and moxibustion can reduce liver injury due to DDP chemotherapy by modulating IRE-1 signaling pathway, inhibiting the excessive activation of endoplasmic reticulum stress, and reducing liver cell apoptosis.

摘要:Tumor and its concomitant symptoms such as pain, fatigue and nausea bring a huge physical and mental burden to the patients. Although the medication is a common intervention for these symptoms, these problems have not been solved yet due to the side effects and patients’ tolerance. In modern clinical practice of anti-tumor, acupuncture-moxibustion not only inhibits the growth of tumor, but also ameliorates the related symptoms as an auxiliary therapy. The paper summarizes the application of acupuncture-moxibustion in treatment of malignant tumor and its related symptoms, systematizes the therapeutic effects on the common symptoms and analyzes the clinical value of acupuncture-moxibustion for anti-tumor.

摘要:ObjectiveTo observe the efficacy and safety of ginger-partitioned moxibustion combined with ringheaded thumb-tack needle stimulation in the prevention and treatment of chemotherapy-induced nausea and vomiting (CINV) in patients with malignant tumors.MethodsPatients with malignant tumors and suffering from chemotherapy were randomly divided into control group (35 cases,4 cases dropped off) and observation group (35 cases,2 cases dropped off). The patients of the control group were treated by orally taking ondansetron hydrochloride tablets 8 mg/time, 3 times a day for 3 d, and those of the observation group treated by ginger-partitioned moxibustion combined with ringheaded thumb-tack needle stimulation of Zusanli(ST36), Neiguan(PC6), Tianshu(ST25), Zhongwan(CV12) and Guanyuan(CV4) once a day for a total of 3 d, based on the treatment of the control group. The patients’ gastrointestinal reaction degree after the 1st , 2nd and the 3rd day of treatment were recorded. The Karnofsky performance status (KPS) score (0-100 points) was used for assessing the patients’ quality of life. The TCM syndrome score (4 grades: no, mild, medium and severe, i.e. 0, 2, 4 and 6 points) was given according to the patients’ severity of symptoms of spleen (stomach) qi deficiency (nausea and vomiting, abdominal distension after eating, belching, loss of appetite, weakness and laziness to speak, fatigue, and loose stool). The safety of the treatment was assessed by examining the patients’ blood routine, liver function and kidney function, and the adverse reactions including blisters, allergies, burns and fainting during acupuncture treatment.ResultsAfter the 2nd and 3rd day of treatment, the patients conditions of vomiting and nausea in the observation group were significantly better than those of the control group (P<0.05). The TCM syndrome score and KPS score were significantly decreased in comparison with those of pre-treatment in both groups (P<0.05), and the TCM syndrome score was obviously lower in the observation group than in the control group (P<0.05). No significant differences were found between the two groups in the KPS score after the treatment , and in the levels of white blood cells (WBC), hemoglobin (HGB), platelets (PLT), absolute neutrophil count (ANC), alanine transaminase (ALT), aspartate aminotransferase (AST), creatinine(Cr), and blood urea nitrogen (BUN).ConclusionThe use of ginger-partitioned moxibustion combined with ringheaded thumb-tack needle stimulation is safe for CINV patients, and can effectively relieve nausea and vomiting and alleviate digestive symptoms.

摘要:ObjectiveTo evaluate the efficacy of acupuncture in treating breast cancer-related lymphedema (BCRL) by using systematic review and Meta analysis method.MethodsSearching CNKI, Wanfang Data Knowledge Service Platform, VIP Chinese Journal Service Platform, Chinese Biomedical Literature Database, PubMed, Cochrane Library, Embase and Web of Science, the randomized controlled trials (RCTs) literature of acupuncture for BCRL was collected from the establishment of the databases to October 1st, 2023. After data extraction and risk of bias evaluation of the included literature, Meta-analysis was performed using RevMan5.4 software.ResultsA total of 14 RCTs with 952 patients were included. The Meta-analysis results showed that compared with comprehensive decongestive therapy (CDT), CDT-associated methods and other interventions of the contro group, acupuncture was able to decrease the circumference of the proximal 10 cm to elbow crease (MD=-1.95, P=0.000 5), reduce the difference in arm circumference (MD=-1.30, P<0.000 01), and increase the effective index (MD=27.47, P<0.000 01; RR=1.23, P=0.000 5); acupuncture improves the range of motion(ROM) scores of shoulder joint in four areas: anteflexion(SMD=0.47,P=0.04), posterior extension (SMD=0.87, P<0.000 01), abduction (SMD=0.48, P=0.03), and adduction (SMD=0.72, P=0.000 5); acupuncture also could alleviate pain and improve visual analog scale (VAS) scores (MD=-1.15, P<0.000 01). No serious adverse reactions were reported in the literatures.ConclusionAcupuncture can effectively improve the degree of limb edema and subjective symptoms in BCRL patients.
摘要:ObjectiveTo analyze the rules of acupoint selection in treatment of cancer-related insomnia with acupuncture and moxibustion by data mining technology.MethodsThe articles of cancer-related insomnia treated with acupuncture and moxibustion were searched from CNKI, Wanfang, VIP, SinoMed, PubMed, WOS, Cochrane, and Embase databases, from the inception of each database to January 5, 2024. The prescription database of acupuncture and moxibustion for cancer-related insomnia was established. The descriptive analysis was conducted on the use frequency, meridian tropism and distribution of acupoints. Using SPSS Modeler 18.0 Apriori algorithm, the association rules of acupoint prescriptions were analyzed. With Cytoscape3.9.1 software used, the complex network diagram was plotted, and the cluster analysis of high-frequency acupoints was performed by SPSS26.0 software.ResultsForty-one articles were included, and 67 prescriptions were extracted with 89 acupoints involved, and the total use frequency was 447 times. The top 4 acupoints of the high use frequency were Baihui (GV20), Sanyinjiao (SP6), Shenmen (HT7) and Shenting (GV24). The included meridians were the governor vessel, the spleen meridian, the bladder meridian, the conception vessel, the heart meridian and the stomach meridian. The selected acupoints were mostly distributed on the head, the neck and and the upper and lower limbs. The special acupoints of the high use frequency included the five-Shu points, the crossing points and yuan-primordial points. Regarding acupoint combination, GV24, SP6, HT7, and GV20 were highly correlated. The three effective clusters were categorized among the top 12 acupoints of the high use frequency.ConclusionIn treatment of cancer-related insomnia with acupuncture and moxibustion, the principle focuses on supporting the healthy qi, eliminating pathogens, regulating yin and yang, promoting the circulation of the governor vessel for regulating the spirit, and tranquilizing the mind. The core acupoint prescription may includes GV24, SP6, HT7 and GV20; combined with Zusanli (ST36) and Yintang (GV4+) to enhance the therapeutic effect.

摘要:ObjectiveTo explore the effect of moxibustion on the expression of sorting nexin 5 (SNX5), glutathione peroxidase (GPX4) and ferritin heavy chain (FTH1) in the corpus striatum in mice with Parkinson’s disease (PD), so as to explore its mechanisms underlying improvement of PD by ameliorating ferroptosis in the substantia nigra striatum.MethodsC57BL/6J mice were randomly divided into normal, sham operation, model, and moxibustion groups, with 10 mice in each group. The PD model was established by unilateral injection of 6-hydroxydopamine (3.5 μL) into the right medial forebrain bundle (AP=-1.2 mm,ML=-1.3 mm,DV=-4.75 mm). The mice in the moxibustion group received moxibustion at “Baihui”(GV20) and “Sishencong”(EX-HN1) for 20 min each time, once a day, 6 times a week for 4 weeks. After the intervention, mice received apomorphine rotation behavior detection and pole climbing test. The expression of tyrosine hydroxylase (TH) in the substantia nigra was detected by immunofluorescence, the contents of Fe2+, malondialdehyde (MDA), the ratio of glutathione/oxidized glutathione (GSH/GSSG) in the corpus striatum were detected by using photocolorimetric method, and the expression levels of SNX5 (endocytosomal protein), GPX4 (one of the key targets for inhibiting ferroptosis) and FTH1 proteins and mRNAs in the corpus striatum were detected by Western blot and qPCR, respectively.ResultsBehavior tests showed that the pole climbing time and number of body rotation were significantly increased in the model group relevant to the sham operation group (P<0.01), and strikingly decreased in the moxibustion group relevant to the model group (P<0.01). The immunofluorescence intensity of TH in the substantia nigra, the ratio of GSH/GSSG, and the expression levels of GPX4 and FTH1 mRNAs and proteins in the corpus striatum were markedly decreased (P<0.01,P<0.05), while the contents of Fe2+ and MDA and the expression levels of SNX5 mRNA and protein in the corpus striatum significantly increased in the model group relevant to the sham operation group (P<0.01,P<0.05). Compared with the model group, the decreased immunofluorescence intensity of TH, GSH/GSSH, and the expression levels of GPX4 and FTH1 mRNAs and proteins, and the increased contents of Fe2+ and MDA and the expression levels of SNX5 mRNA and protein were reversed in the moxibustion group relevant to the model group (P<0.01,P<0.05).ConclusionMoxibustion may improve motor dysfunction in PD mice, which may be related to its effects in down-regulating the expression of SNX5, promoting the synthesis of GSH, decreasing the contents of Fe2+ and MDA, up-regulating the ratio of GSH/GSSG and the expression of GPX4 and FTH1 mRNAs and proteins in the corpus striatum, and inhibiting the occurrence of ferroptosis.
摘要:ObjectiveTo observe the effect of electroacupuncture (EA) pre-conditioning on the expression rhythm of clock gene Bmal1 in the uterine tissue of rats with controlled ovarian hyperstimulation(COH), so as to explore its mechanisms underlying improvement of the endometrial receptivity of ovarian superovulation during implantation.MethodsSeventy-two female SD rats with typical estrous cycles were randomly divided into normal control, model and EA pre-conditioning (pre-EA) groups, with 24 rats in each group. The COH model was established by giving the rats with pregnant mare serum gonadotropin (PMSG) and human chorionic gonadotropin (HCG) by intraperitoneal injection. The rats of the pre-EA group received EA stimulation (1 Hz/5 Hz, a tolerable strength) of “Guanyuan”(CV4) and “Sanyinjiao”(SP6) for 15 min each time, once daily (at 21:00 every day). After successive EA intervention during the first two estrous cycles, the modeling began in the third estrus cycle and the EA intervention was continued till the end of modeling, followed by raising the rats with superovulation induction and male rats undergoing vasoligation in one cage (1∶1). The rats during the estrum in the normal control group or those of the model group at the end of modeling were raised together with the male rats undergoing vasoligation in one cage. On the 5th day (04:00 AM) after raising in one cage, the rats in the three groups were sacrificed in six batches every 4 hours, with 4 rats in each group in each batch. The H.E. staining was used for revealing alterations of the endometrial thickness, number of glands and blood vessels and tissue histology, and ELISA employed to ascertain the contents of estradiol (E2) and progesterone (Pg) in serum. The expression rhythm of core clock gene Bmal1 [In the present study, Zeitgeber time (ZT) is an artificially set laboratory time, i.e., ZT7 (07:00) is light on and ZT19 (19:00) is light off.] and the expression of endometrial HoxA10 and leukemia inhibitory factor (LIF) mRNAs were detected by quantitative real-time PCR. The Western blot was employed to detect the expression levels of HoxA10 and LIF proteins.ResultsFindings of the clock gene Bmal1 level showed that the expression peak was at ZT12 and the valley value at ZT20 in the normal control group, and that of the peak value was at ZT20 and valley value at ZT12 in the model group, while in the pre-EA group, the peak value was at ZT8, and the valley value at ZT4. The difference of Bmal1 levels among the three groups was most significant at ZT12 (12:00), therefore, the tissue samples were taken at ZT12 in this study for comparison of the levels of different indexes among the 3 groups. Compared with the control group, the endometrial thickness, number of glands and blood vessels, HoxA10 and LIF mRNAs and proteins were significantly down-regulated (P<0.01, P<0.05), and contents of serum E2 and Pg were considerably up-regulated in the model group (P<0.01, P<0.05). Relevant to the model group, the pre-EA group had an apparent increase in the endometrial thickness, number of glands and blood vessels, and expression levels of HoxA10 and LIF mRNAs and proteins (P<0.05, P<0.01), and a marked decrease in the serum Pg (P<0.05). At the ZT12 (12:00 noon), compared with the normal control group, the mRNA level of Bmal1 was significantly decreased in the model group (P<0.01); and compared with the model group, the level of Bmal1 mRNA was significantly increased in the pre-EA group (P<0.05). In addition, at the node of ZT16, the mRNA level of Bmal1 was significantly decreased in the model group in comparison with the normal control group (P<0.01).ConclusionEA preconditioning can improve the endometrial receptivity during the implantation window period in rats with COH, which may be related to its functions in regulating the expression of clock gene Bmal1 in the uterine tissue and in correcting the disturbance of clock gene rhythm.
摘要:ObjectiveTo explore the therapeutic effect of acupuncture combined with paroxetine for mild to moderate depression and the regulatory role of brain derived neurotrophic factor (BDNF) in patients based on DNA methylation.MethodsA total of 66 patients with mild to moderate depression who met the inclusion and exclusion criteria were randomly divided into an observation (acupuncture+medication) group and a control (medication) group, with 33 patients in each group, and other 25 healthy volunteers were taken as the healthy group. The patients of the control group were treated by oral administration of paroxetine 20 mg/d for 4 weeks. The patients of the observation group were treated by acupuncture stimulation of Zhongwan (CV12), Qihai (CV6), Zusanli (ST36), Sanyinjiao (SP6), Shangxing (GV23), Shuigou (GV26), Shaoshang (LU11), Yinbai (SP1) and Daling (PC7) (for 20 min, 3 times a week for 4 weeks) on the basis of medication treatment (the same as that of the control group). Before treatment, 2 and 4 weeks of treatment, and 2 weeks of follow-up, the therapeutic effect was assessed using Hamilton Depression Scale 17 (HAMD-17). The SPSS25.0 software was used to form a randomized grouping and to randomly select 25 patients from the observation group and 25 patients from the control group for blood collecting and data analysis. The blood samples were taken for assaying serum BDNF content and the methylation degree of BDNF gene promotor I with ELISA and MassARRAY techniques, respectively.Results1) In comparison with those before treatment, the total score of HAMD-17, sleep disorder factor score, and anxiety somatization factor score of both the observation and control groups were significantly decreased after 2 and 4 weeks of treatment, and 2 weeks of follow-up (P<0.05), except sleep disorder factor score in the control group after 2 weeks of the treatment. Compared with the same time-points of the control group, the HAMD-17 total score and sleep disorder factor score of the observation group were decreased after 2 and 4 weeks of treatment, and 2 weeks of follow-up (P<0.05), while the anxiety somatization factor score was evidently decreased after 2 weeks of treatment (P<0.05). 2) Following 2 weeks of treatment, the total effective rate and markedly effective rate of the observation group were 80%(24/30)and 36.67% (11/30), respectively, being significantly higher than those [(26.67% and 0 %)] of the control group. After 4 weeks of treatment, the markedly effective rate of the observation group was 70.00% (21/30), being significantly higher than that 40% (12/30) of the control group (P<0.05), while the total effective rates of the observation and control groups were the same (100%). 3) Before the treatment, comparison among the healthy, observation and control groups showed no statistical significance in the methylation degree of each site (CpG1.2, CpG5.6, CpG8.9, CpG26, CpG27, CpG31, and CpG33.34) of BDNF gene promotor I, while after 4 weeks of the treatment, the methylation degree of CpG31 was considerably lower in the observation group than in the control group (P<0.05). 4) Before the treatment, the contents of serum BDNF of both observation and control group had no significant difference, but were evidently lower than that of the healthy group (P<0.05). Compared with that before treatment, the serum BDNF contents in both observation and control groups were significantly increased after the treatment (P<0.05), and was significantly higher in the observation group than in the control group (P<0.05). 5) The correlation analysis showed a negative correlation between the BDNF protein content and HAMD-17 score (correlation coefficient ρ=-0.686, P<0.01).ConclusionAcupuncture may have an antidepressant role by decreasing CpG31 methylation of BDNF and increasing the serum content of BDNF protein in patients with depression. In addition, acupuncture combined with paroxetine has more advantages in treating mild to moderate depression than oral paroxetine alone, and can improve sleep disorders and anxiety somatization symptoms more quickly.

The visual analog scale (VAS) score and cox menstrual symptom scale (CMSS) score (including severity [CMSS-S] and time of duration [CMSS-T]) were evaluated before treatment, at the end of each menstrual cycle, and one menstrual cycle after treatment.ResultsThe values of uterine artery blood flow parameters (PI, RI, S/D) after treatment in the 9 moxa cones group were lower than those before treatment, as well as lower than those in the 3 and 6 moxa cones groups after treatment (P<0.05). The VAS scores of the 3 moxa cones group were lower than those before treatment in the first and second cycle (P<0.05). The VAS scores of the 6 and 9 moxa cones groups were lower than those before treatment at each observation point (P<0.05), and were lower than those of the 3 moxa cones group in the third cycle of treatment and follow-up period (P<0.05). And the VAS score of the 9 moxa cones group was lower than that of the 6 moxa cones group during the follow-up period (P<0.05). Compared with the scores before treatment, the CMSS-T scores at each observation point after treatment were lower in the 9 moxa cones group (P<0.05); the CMSS-T scores in the second and third cycle after treatment, and follow-up period were lower in the 6 moxa cones group (P<0.05), with the CMSS-S scores in the second and third cycle after treatment, and follow-up period lower in the 6 and 9 moxa cones groups (P<0.05). The CMSS-T and CMSS-S scores of the 6 and 9 moxa cones groups were lower than those of the 3 moxa cones group in the third cycle and follow-up period (P<0.05). The CMSS-T and CMSS-S scores of the 9 moxa cones group were lower than those of the 6 moxa cones group during the follow-up period (P<0.05).ConclusionGrain-Sized moxibustion has dose-effect relationship in the treatment of PD. Compared with 3 and 6 moxa cones groups, 9 moxa cones group has advantages in improving uterine artery blood flow parameters and alleviating dysmenorrhea symptoms in PD patients.

摘要:Stroke brings the pathological changes of brain tissues such as hematoma formation or ischemia and hypoxia, which leads to neuronal death and axon degeneration. Axon regeneration after its injury is mainly dependent on the surrounding microenvironment and the related proteins, including glial scar, myelin associated inhibitory factors, axon guidance molecules, and neurotrophic factors. All of them affect axon growth by regulating the morphology and orientation of growth cones, the synaptic stability, and the proliferation and differentiation of neural stem cells. This article summarizes the mechanism of acupuncture in regulating axon regeneration after stroke. Acupuncture inhibits glial scar formation, alleviates the inhibitory effects of its physical and chemical barriers on axon growth, reverses the inhibitory effects of myelin-related inhibitory factors on axon growth, and adjusts the level of axon guidance molecules to promote the proliferation and differentiation of neural stem cells and the regeneration of injured axons, and up-regulates neurotrophic factors. Eventually, post-stroke nerve injury can be ameliorated.
摘要:ObjectiveScalp acupuncture is a method of treating diseases by dividing and stimulating the corresponding function-oriented cortical scalp areas. It is a commonly used therapy for neurological disorders. However, the specific target selection for scalp acupuncture remains to be explored. This manuscript aims to initiate an attempt to develop/identify scalp acupuncture targets based on neuroimaging findings and noninvasive brain stimulation.MethodsNeurosynth-based meta-analysis of neuroimaging studies was conducted to identify brain stimulation targets of neurological disorders. The identified target regions were further projected to the scalp. The traditional acupoints and 10-20 EEG system were referenced for the localization of these targets. In this study, the “mild cognitive impairment” (MCI), “Alzheimer’s disease” (AD) and “dementia” were used as the retrieval terms respectively, and a unity detection method was used to generate brain maps, with the default FDR (false discovery rate, P<0.01) threshold of Neurosynth set for subsequent exploration of various disease-related brain regions. The literature search was conducted on July 30, 2022.ResultsThe localization and manipulation suggestions of neuroimage-based scalp acupuncture targets for MCI, AD, and dementia were introduced in the present paper (part 2). Here are 3 target examples for each of these 3 diseases due to word limitation. 1) MCI: Based on the 81 papers retrieved, we identified 6 potential scalp acupuncture points for MCI, their corresponding brain regions, brain functions and the possible resultant effects of the scalp target acupoint stimulation respectively are as below. MCI1: the orbital part of the left inferior frontal gyrus (left Brodmann area [BA]47), related to semantic coding, working memory and episodic memory, improving semantic coding and memory function; MCI2: the anterior motor area/left anterior central gyrus (left BA6), the motor center area, improving MCI motor function; MCI3: the left medial temporal gyrus (left BA21), related to the processing of speech, visual space, language and word understanding, improving language and memory. 2) AD: Based on the 196 papers retrieved, we found 6 potential scalp acupuncture targets for AD, their corresponding brain regions and brain functions of the 3 example targets respectively are as below. AD1: the left medial temporal gyrus (left BA21), participating in language and semantic processing, sentence and word generation, intent expression, deductive reasoning; AD2: the left angular gyrus (left BA39), related to semantic processing, word reading and comprehension, memory retrieval, attention and spatial cognition, reasoning, etc.; AD3: the left fusiform/suboccipital gyrus (left BA37), related to semantic classification, text generation, sign language, phonology processing, etc. 3) Dementia: Based on the 142 papers retrieved, we found 4 potential scalp acupuncture targets for dementia, their corresponding brain regions, brain functions and the possible targets of the proposed scalp stimulation respectively are as below. D1 and D2: the left inferior frontal gyrus (i.e., left BA46, and left BA47, respectively), being closely related to working memory, emotional response regulation, melody and other processing processes, may be suitable for treating memory decline and advanced executive dysfunction in patients with dementia; D3: the left medial temporal gyrus (left BA21), an important brain region for various sensory integration, cognitive processing and memory functions, and emotional processing, may be suitable for temporal dementia.ConclusionWe identified scalp acupuncture targets for several common neurological disorders based on neuroimaging findings and noninvasive brain stimulation. The proposed targets may also be used for treating these disorders using nerve/brain stimulation methods.
