弄清循经感传过程中在大脑皮层内是否存在异常兴奋扩散的问题
对于探讨循经感传形成的机理有十分重要的意义。我们以往的工作已初步表明
循经感传显著者的脑电图是一种属于正常范围的脑电图。在循经感传行进过程中
大脑皮层第一体觉区没有出现异常兴奋扩散的迹象。但由于在处理EEG spectral analysis technique was used to clarify whether the spreading of abnormal excitation was appeared in SI during the advance of the propa- gated sensation along channels(PSC).The experimental group consisted of 10 adults and 10 youngsters with marked PSC and the same number of adults and youngsters without PSC were taken as control.The EEG were recorded from 2 scalp points corresponding to the representative areas of foot and arm contralateral to the stimulated side.The acupuncture points was“Guangmin”. The record were taken before
during and after acupuncture and each lasted 10 minutes.The EEG were processed with the aid of 7T07 signal processor and the resulted power spectrum and array were plotted on the X-Y recorder.The results are shown as follows: 1.The power spectrum in majority of the subjects under observation were characterized by a peak in a rhythm range.The frequency of the peak was stable.During acupuncture the peak frequency of α rhythm increased slightly in 7 subjects
but kept unchanged in the others 33.In adults with or without PSC
a rhythm was dominated on the spectrum.However
besides the peak of a rhythm
another two peaks of θ and δ rhythm could be seen in 4 you- ngsters with PSC and 3 without PSC.The result was in consistent with the reports indicating the active θ and δ rhythm in child EEG. 2.when the adults group was compared with the youngsters one
there was no difference in α rhythm between the two.However
when the subjects with PSC was compared with those without PSC
the result was different.The mean α rhythm of the cortical foot representative area in the adults with PSC before
during and after acupuncture were 0.41
0.64 and 0.59 Hz higher than those without PSC respectively
but statistically the difference was not signi- ficant(P>0.05).The mean α rhythm of the cortical foot representative area in the youngsters with PSC before
during and after acupuncture were 0.45
0.59 and 0.84 Hz higher than those without PSC respectively.Similar results were obtained when the mean α rhythm of the arm representative area betwe- en the two groups mentioned above were compared. 3.There was no significant difference in the mean α and θ power between the subjects with and without PSC.The α power was influenced markedly by acupuncture
but the manifestation and the extent of the influence varied from person to person.Out of a total of 40 subjects
the a power decreased in 14
increased in 16 and kept unchanged in the remaining 10 during acupu- ncture
in comparison with that before acupuncture. The above results demonstrate that no abnormal rhythm appears on EEG power spectrtum and hence there is no signs of spreading of the abnormal excitation in SI during the advance of PSC.Now
it is safe to say PSC is not a pathological phenomenon
as sensory Jacksonian epilepsy in nature
but a reflection of the normal sensory process.
