The effects of moxibustion and its combination with immunomodulators (IM) on biological properties of tumor cells of mlce were studied. The results showed that

1) moxibustion

especially its combination with IM had remarkable effect lowering the binding capacity of HAC tumor cells to some lectins

2) both moxibustion and its combination with IM had the effect reducing C-erbB-2 protein expression to a certain degree

the latter was statistical significance

3) PCNA content

AgNOR counts and cell phase in both groups were changed to a certain degree

but without statistical significance.These results indicated that moxibustion and its combination with IM had some influencing effecty on some biological properties of tumor cells

and this might be one of the reasons for the antitumor effect of acupuncture and moxibustion or their combination with medicines.
