We have used electroacupuncture(EA) to stimulate BALb/c mouse at bilateral "Cheng Fu" points (BL 36) to study opioid mechanism of EA on immunomodulation. When the mouse was stimulated by EA for 30 min.
We found that it could potentlatte the functions of splenic lymphocyte proliferative response to ConA and induction of IL-2 production at the time 3 hr after EA treatment. This effect of EA was blocked by pretreated with opioid antagonist Naltrexone (NTX
15mg/kg
i. P. ); however the modulatory effects of EA on serum LZM
IgG were not affected by NTX.These suggest that the opiate receptors may be play an important role in mediating the enhanced effects of EA on cell immunoresponses
specially T-lymphocyte immune function
but the other several immune responses such as serum LZM
