Influence of Ventral Rhizotomy on the Pain Threshold and the Effect of Electroacupuncture Analgesia in Rats[J]. Acupuncture research, 1998, (1): 12-15.DOI:
This study was aimed at investigating the action of ventral roots on the input of pain and acupuncture analgesic information. The results showed that (1) before unilateral L4 and L5 ventral rhizotomy
the difference of the pain threshold between the two sides was unmarked
(2) the third day after unilateral L4 and L5 ventral rhizotomy
the pain threshold on the rhizotomy side was apparently higher than that of normal rats and that of the control side
(3) the third day after unilateral L4 and L5 ventral rhizotomy
the effect of electroacupuncture (EA) analgesia on the rhizotomy side was increased when applying EA
compared with not only that of the control side but a1so that after EA in normal rats
