117 cases of senile insomnia were treated by acupuncture combined with Chinese herbs. The re sults showed that 53 cases were cured

13 cases significantly improved

14 cases improved and 2 cases ineffective

the total effective rate was 97. 5%

comparing with control group

there is a significant difference (P <0.05)

which indicated that acupuncture combined with Chinese herbs have a good clinical effect on senile insomnia
