The lung function of adrenalectomized (ADX ) rats with asthma was observed after acupuncture
the ADX rats and restrained ADX rats with asthma and without acupuncture were used as two control groups. The results showed that the airway resistance was obviously decreased and pulmonary compliance was significantly increased in the acupunctured group 88 compared with the two control groups without acupuncture. This suggested that the acupuncture treatment of asthma in ADX rats had no direct relation to adrenalcorticosteroid.
