Regulative Effects of Acupuncture on Secretory Functions of the Stomach[J]. Acupuncture research, 2000, (2): 89-92. DOI: 10.13702/j.1000-0607.2000.02.002.
This is a review of the mechanism and significance of acupuncture's effects on secretory functions of the stomach. Results of recent studies indicate that acupuncture can affect the secretion of the stomach in the following ways: (1) By way of peripheral and central nervous system
and the integration of the central nervous nuclei particular
acupuncture intervenes the regulation of gastric secretion . In the process
cholinergic nerve
adrenergic nerve and peptidergic nerve all have a role in the regulation . (2) Gastrointestinal hormones
particularly brain gut peptide (BGP)which is closely related to acid secretion play a substantial intermediate role in it . (3) Changes in the concentration of the media such as β EP
GAS
EGF
etc. in the gastrointestinal tissues can affect the cells' ultrastructure
be involved in the intracellular information system and affect the secretion of gastric acid .
